Can't do it, Unless you are telling me you honestly don't know if Obama is or isn't involved/corrupt.
So which is it? You don't know either way or you do know and he isn't?
Clearly you are saying you don't believe Obama is involved/corrupt then you must have proof to support that position.
We all want to see it

Those of us out here in the hinterland but that are familiar with history, know only too well of the long history of corruption in Chicago and Springfield politics. But this new one is a real doozy. And you people in the main-stream media are going to tell us that a guy who lived this type of politics for over 20 years, your Messiah Obama was not involved? Right. No thanks, we do not believe you.

You people still don't get it. In Illinois it doesn't matter what party you are in corruption is in the blood here and has been from the beginning.

I repeat anyone who votes straight ticket or party is a fool and brain dead. Anyone who claims to be from Illinois and especially Chicago/Cook county who voted for Obama will get all they deserve.

Of course Obama would say he has not been involved with Blago, but his staff was obviously in some negotiation with him for the senate seat la Val Jarette.

Did he forget all he did for the Blago elections?

Memory lapse: George Ryan, a Republican from Kankakee, and former Secretary of State, was elected Governor of Illinois, in 1998, and convicted for his part in the illegal sale of government licenses and contracts, and sentenced to 6 1/2 years in the pen.
Not to mention, another GOP governor, Jim Thompson, represented Ryan, at his trial.
We can agree, though, that politics in Chicago, and Illinois, have a long history of corruption and graft. The funny thing is, up until recently, that has not led to incompetence. Historically, Chicago has been well-run, especially in comparison to other cities, of similar size.

Actually based on the "standards" of politics and at least many, and perhaps most, politicians, unfortunately the criminal activities that Blagojevich engaged in and tried to get away with are not shocking at all. Actually, the only thing shocking about the whole thing is that he was so cocky, arrogant, and overconfident, that therefore he openly discussed his conspiracies and criminal activities, and rather than giving himself some weasel room and deniability by intentionally speaking vaguely and making only indirect references to the criminal activities he and his co conspirators were plotting.

But perhaps his extreme overconfidence came from the fact that he is a lawyer, since many lawyers go on the assumptions that: one, being lawyers, therefore they are smarter than everyone else; and two, lawyers can get away with absolutely anything.

Read the story, it will tell you exactly what Blagojevich said, in quotes, about Obama not offering anything but appreciation if Blago put the guy Obama wanted in that seat,,,"Bleep them", that's what he though of Obama.

Every Demon rat in chitown has been crooked ever since thet days of Al Capone and his handpicked pol "big" Jack Thompson. Richard j Daley, Rostenkowski, George Dunne, Jane Byrnne, many of Harold Washingtons staff, seems to me Blago is comfortable with the scum of the earth like Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, etc. Just like his corrupt President-elect illegal alien Obama.

American Politics. Right Wing George Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and the rest of those "crook's" have "sicked" their Attorney General to convict and go after Democratic Governor around the state to give Republican competitors the advantage in elections. These same right wingers who control power will not spend dime of Federal Dollars on cities controlled by Democratic Mayors. This is what is wrong with America.
The fact is if we conducted our government exclusively on secret police investigating our elected officials at all levels, we wouldn't have any elected officials; they would all be in jail. Use a government stamp on personal letter is a crime. Hire the college daughter or son of a family member or friend; a crime. I mean everyone would be in jeapordy.
The AG is going after Gov. Blag because they have until January 20th; then, a new administration with a new AG takes over; perhaps this "bull crap" will end then.
Eric Zorn and John Kass, the two most Tribune writers who have no credibility are having a Field Day reporting on this. They love to see our government officials hurt.
Eric Zorn has no mercy for a 74 year old former gov., Ryan who gave 50 years of good service to Illinois; sure, he had some bad judgement calls too; but, overall, he was a good governor, one of the best. Eric Zorn would make a different argument if the former gov., was a relative.
Are you kidding me?? This guy has been on the fast track to an indictment from the time he took the oath of office. As a former Illnoian I often follow the happings in my home state, and the distance hasn't interferred with my vision of Blago. He's been corrupt from the get go. The only thing is the republicans can blame themselves too. For putting up such a lame canditate for gov. last time up. If they had nominated anyone with an ounce of personality they could have spared Illionis all of this, and then they could be appointing the senate seat. But in Illinois they're more inept than the dems.

Yeah you got me I am a republican (hahaha). Don't forget I am a racist too.

Let me ask you something do you or don't you believe Obama is involved in his more recent dealings with typical Illinois corruption?

How do you know he hasn't in his 20 years of Illinois politics participated in the usual insider games, bribes, pay for play Illinois games?

What makes you so sure? What will be proof enough an arrest or just the countless documented stories of his unethical but accepted practices politics?

If you really want proof either way why won't you get your lazy &*^@#^ up and exercise your brain. There are at least 6 articles in the last year that allude to his behavior.

Of course there is Republican corruption. Although the last Republican Governor of Illinois is currently serving a prison term, there seems to be more Democrats that get caught. The Democrats control Chicago and Cook County, and that is the hotbed of political corruption.

The only one to blame is Blago himself. If you look at his career all his political moves, it was all for himself. He did not care about the people he represented. The guy is a self-serving politician. He got his start after law school under the cronies of Vrdolyak and Daley. Married Patricia because her political family. He grew up poor but kind of obvious now that he never had the morals to be a governor or public servant.

This disgusting development may finally put Illinois and Chicago under the international media spotlight of journalistic investigations of political corruption it so richly deserves. We may not have invented it, but our crooked politicians sure as heck have perfected it into a bad art form.

Why so we can have more of the same corruption?

Impeachment/resignation with Quinn in temporarily until the next election. Or do you want the likes of Emil Jones or heaven forbid Stroger getting elected via the cook county voters.
