I also would like to see the man hours/with overtime to see what the cost of this operation was.440 lbs of pot seems a little light....They average 100 lbs a week on rt 11 and 37.They got 295 weapons, not off the street, but out of 3 homes. So just what did this operation accomplish? And 8 ounces of blow?6 of it was on one person????????The bill just doesnt add up.Good thing they took a classic car collection to pay off the outstanding debt.PATHETIC.

That would be a great idea if the penalties for cultivation were not so harsh. I can buy weed and get punished with only a misdemeanor, if I grow it I am going to prison. The government knows this but they will not change the "status Quo" because they like the money from the illegal narcotics trade.

Sad that for every one person arrested there are 10 more who deal. In a world that pushes pill health is there any wonder we believe that Happy can be found in a pill,a smoke or bottle of booze?

Cons for Legalizing Marijuana:

1.A State cannot be involved with the distribution of substances considered immoral by relevant lots of the population. A substance considered unhealthy cannot be produced and distributed with the help of the state, because the goal of the state is to protect citizensí health and not to expose them to risk.
2.The easy availability of drugs would create new consumers rather than rescuing current ones.
3.Drugs are addictive. They rob the user of free will. A drug user cannot make an informed and rational decision to continue using drugs because the use of the drug eliminates that userís ability to think logically. Nor can they disseminate themselves from drug taking.
4.Drug use is dangerous to persons besides the user. In the rise of health care costs, violence associated with the use of drugs, neglect of children by drug-addicted parents, and other third party effects.
5.The use of soft drugs, such as marijuana, leads to the use of hard drugs (the Gateway Theory).
6.Legalizing drugs will send a message to children that drug use is acceptable.
