This post reminded me of something that happened to me. I had a script for phenergan at Rite Aid. It was just $12. My other meds are at Walgreens.(not oxy) well, at Walgreens the phenergan is at least $30 for 60 pills! Quite a huge price difference from Rite Aid!! Well, my bf has to get his diabetic meds at CVS due to his insurance. Well, I thought that maybe CVS had a cheaper price than Walgreens and since Rite aid closes so early I thought to call CVS for a price quote since the bf was going to pick up his meds and it would be easier to get my phenergan there when he went to get his meds. They quoted me a price on the phone of $11 and some change and I even REPEATED what mg the phenergan was and the quantity. When I got there to pick it up it was almost $30!! PISSED ME OFF! Thankfully it is not a controlled substance and I was able to transfer it back to Rite Aid. It amazes me how different prices differ from pharmacy to pharmacy on the same meds!! SMDH!:/
Tried filling a script for #60 Percocets today @ Walgreens to no avail! I live in Key West, Fl which is limited on pharmacies (2 CVS, 2 Walgrens, Dennis pharmacy! All were out- had to drive 40 miles up the keys to find a Walgrens who carried them & to add insult to injury. Last month I paid $42 for this script~ this month $133.40 WTF? I think the DEA should pull there head out of there a** & get on the US/Mex border if there are Truely worried about US citizens well being!

i have CRPR TYPE 2,LOWER EXTREMITIES,,,go ahead look it up,IT IS THE WORSE CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME you can have,,,after going to same pharmacy (WALGREENS) for last 3 years,,,BOOM they say they won't fill my scripts...SO I COMPLAIN TO CORPORATE,they tell me it's up to the pharmacist if i get my meds or not.THIS IS INSANE,they are going to force a law abiding citizen like myself to go to the's that or go into terrible withdrawl, then still be stuck with a horrible ,severe, chronic pain problem..MAYBE THEY WOULD RATHER I KILL MYSELF?This AMERICA,and i thought we took care of each other.LET'S PROTEST CMON PEOPLE WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN

Dude I'm so with you...I have the same problem....after years of filling my pain meds every month on early refills, always the same Dr prescribing, they all of the sudden needed a diagnosis code from my Dr saying it is a new law,I looked on my phone for such a law while still in line refusing to step away with my scripts....

After I'd tried showing the pharmacist the prescribing and filling a controlled substance laws for my state.....he'd quickly retracted his statement and said that it's a new Walgreen policy.....

So right off the top he lied..... And as patients were told to always be and honest with out pharmacist...what about them being honest? He just wanted to Blame the reason on the DEA ....

Being already 4 pm on a Friday and he needed a diagnosis code from my Dr....which he couldn't get until Monday,I demanded that he call my Dr immediately for the code......and then he had the nerve to say that he is really busyand cannot call right away....which about 15 min of arguing with him he'd then called and got the code from my Dr and I thought things were ok.....wrong! He then took my scripts to the back and came back to the counter and said he'd only had X amount of pills and was 16 pills short of my prescribed amount.and if I took that amount I would be voiding the remaining amount of drugs I'm prescribed.....being a Friday I almost did that...but quickly came to my sense and said No!! This is wrong give me back my script and asked if he could call another drug store in the area asking if they had the amount in stock.
You would think after all I've just went through he would say ok.and help a Walgreen patient....well nope wrong again...
He then said again that there ate new laws preventing him from calling around for that drug....I'd this really happening, do I need to check this law on my phone....

Again there is no federal or state law preventing a rph from looking in there network for hard to obtain medical drugs or supplies....

So again another flat out lie from a Walgreen "professional" pharmacist.....I thought were does Walgreen find these medically ignorant workers? And I'll answer.....from all the Caribbean nations.....I swear I read about it in the web somewhere.

Funny thing .... I left with script and drove down threes street and found another Walgreen that straight up said they had my med in stock and ready to fill....

But then again!!! I was hit with a new law! Lol
This pharmacist said I need to fill my pain meds within my area pharmacy....were I lived..I only drove a few blocks....but he said the pharmacy area code needs to match my address..... I then then asked if this was a real law or just Walgreen policy and was finally told the truth....said finally that it's there policy not law
