I wish he didn't die for another country's drug problem. We have plenty of that in our own country.

I too, thank and respect your son and his family for his service and bravery.

I have the utmost sympathy for the family and loved ones of this man who was doing his best to serve his country. That being said, our DEA should never be sent to police other country's drug problems. It is a waste of money and worse, a loss of precious life for something that can never be "won". Get us out of Afghanistan NOW (and I'm a Republican!) and stop the needless death!

Thank you for volunteering your boots on the ground. You did your part to bring order to an unstable world. From one service man to another, thank you for holding the line.

Too bad another family had to lose their child in a war that can never be won. To force a child to go into a conflict (civil war) that is not theirs and expect to achieve something is futile.
It is a fact: Never, never has an occupying force has been able to cause the people of Afghanistan to bow and submit to a rule that is not their own. It is a fact.
Better to send the child into a meat grinder at McDonalds there, and then waste the time to fight.
To die a worthless death is not a way to see your child go, never.
I hope that when a loved one dies in your family that people show you the same compassion as you have displayed here.

During the last six years of the Viet Nam conflict nothing changed.

The same to you. I support the Afgani's and Iraq's 100% because I work with them. The U.S. needs to pay for destorying their country with the blood of it's occuping force. To bad, you can't see it that way due to your american stupidy. I hope they bury all the occuping forces there, dig a grave, dump the bodies in it and shit in it.

Another unwanted loss of a father whose child has become orphan before he/she was born - what a loss for a false cause imposed by false citizens of America who have their loyalties tied to Israel and Americans keep dying for them.

People, when despicable low-lifes like Charles E Smith post their bile, don't reply to them by clicking on reply. You unintentionally post their post a second time.

Go to their post. In the upper right hand corner hit "Report Abuse" & have it flagged for review. Our host removes the worst ones.

We hear so many conflicting stories about the drugs in Afganistan and the connection of friendly drug lords with the CIA. I wish the press could enter and give us the truth. At the Academy I knew good men like him who had loyal, unquestioning honnor.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Leo

A loved one is being rather tetchy today. It won't take much to get on their nerves, even if you think they're being grossly unfair about it. Try not to make the situation worse by being sarcastic or provocative. Instead, encourage them to tell you what's wrong but without raising their voice. Once you know what you've done to irritate them you can start to put it right.
