Chuck is a wonderful person, great character, full of life and we pray that he'll be found.

He sat with us and prayed for good health for my uncle and put us all at ease.

We're praying for the family.

Holly and I hope for the safe return of Chuck. We also attended flight school with Chuck. Those years were some of the best we spent while in school. Camping, 4x4ing, formation flying, roasting turkey bacon over a sage campfire, cliff jumping -- all great memories. Those stories I tell today as though they just happened. Our thoughts and prayers are there for Chuck and his entire family!

Dear Carol, Leslie, LIsa and Paige,
I see you have been on the site too. I am holding you in my heart and prayers. Chuck was a special part of my life and a true friend over the past 22 years. Whether by phone, email, or when I was lucky enough, in person, I enjoyed being a part of his life. I loved his sense of humor and the love he had for his family and friends. He knew who he was and he shared that with all of us. He had such a passion for life and making the most of it. It's hard for me to imagine a world without him.

Please cease and desist BK. I think you have the wrong person. There are many people with this name and I think you must have this person confused with another person. The Chuck Thompson we are talking about here was a kind and gentle person. He wouldn't have done anything to you or your family. Your post doesn't do anyone any good - not even you. I hope your priest can help you find peace.

I spent alot of time with Chuck we worked together for 7 years. He was a great guy. I enjoyed flying with him or spending time in Kake or whatever he was one of those guys you always had fun with. We never understand why people are taken early from us and we never will. He is watching over us now with a big heart. Those who new chuck were all made better by it. He is gone in our eyes but will never be forgotten in our hearts. See you on the other side brother.

Chuck was an amazing and talented person. He had an enormous heart and a dedication to his family, career and to his friends. I was so lucky to get to know him again as an adult after sharing high school together 20 years ago. Whenever we spoke he made me laugh, taught me something or had an encouraging word when I needed it. I know how much he loved his camping trips, turkey bacon and being out in the wilderness. He had a healthy respect and admiration of the beauty and the power of the environment he was so thrilled to call his home. If he had to leave us so soon I know there's no where else he would have wanted to be. My heart goes out to his family and friends who will miss him dearly. He will stay in my heart forever. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Chuck is one of the finest pilots and people I have yet to meet.My heart goes out to everyone that knows him, he truly stands for the spirit of Alaska and the land that he loved. He will be greatly missed and I know personally Alaska aviation is so much more safer because of the vast efforts he made to increase safety. I have and will always carry the training Chuck has provided me at LAB and be thankful for the better pilot he has made me from the experience. Chuck will be missed...

After spending the last four days here in Sitka we have felt Chuck's spirit and met so many wonderful people who have graciously opened their arms and hearts to us. We have had the most amazing time flying through the stunning wilderness that Chuck so loved, seeing the many breathtaking wonders he so respected. My only wish is that Chuck would have been piloting the plane. But, the generous hearts and kind giving of his co-workers and friends has been such a gift to us in the most difficult time. Much love and thanks to Chuck's friends and extended family!!

I just heard the news last night about Chuck. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I worked with Chuck 12 years ago for a summer and then again for the last six years when he flies into Ketchikan. Chuck has always been very kind and friendly to everyone. When talking with Chuck, it was always obvious how happy he was and how much he loved his life. I am hoping for the best and wishing he is found soon.

I just wanted to say that Chuck is such a dear person. Every time I saw him, he was always happy and kind. It is amazing how one person can brighten so many other people's days. Any day that I saw Chuck, his cheerfulness always rubbed off on me. I was happy and friendly to those whom I was in contact with, in part because of what a powerfully charasmatic and kind person Chuck was, is, and always will be.

To Chuck: Where ever you are your are loved. If you have left us, you left an impression. If your have moved on toward enlightenment your presence here has left us with the gift of calculated thoughtfulness, saftey first, and clear thought. As you move onward in your experience the lessons you have learned are valuable unconsious rememberance.
To Chucks Family: I am sorry I did not make it to Sitka to meet you and give my regards. I know that Chuck will be at peace, his sweet soul will has blessed us all. The pain of his impermenence will soften with time yet our experience with him wil become more vivid and beautiful. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I saw Chuck at our 20 year high school reunion 2 years ago. We stayed at the same hotel and had quite a few lengthy conversations. After the reunion, he sent me some pictures that he took in Alaska. What a beautiful place he lived in! He was a really nice guy and he will be greatly missed.

I was just searching for Chuck on Facebook and couldn't find him. Eventually I found this post. I knew Chuck would do something adventurous when he got out on his own. I only knew him for a short while in high school, but have quite a few funny stories from that short period of time.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
