How does someone oget out of recruiting duty? I have tried it and I absolutely HATE it. There is no other way to describe it. For some, it is that best job in the Air Force, for me, I dred going to the office every day! and I say everyday because I am pretty much there everyday no matter what. I hate it and I don't care if I am horrible at it... I WANT OUT! even if I have to get out of the AF. I just don't know how.

I am having a problem with a recruiter not knowing what the hell he's doing. I'm applying for OTS and this guy is dicking around with my application. Who do I complain to?

Hello, can I have your recruiting job? I am prior service and would like to get back on Active duty.

Who cares,
If you are a volunteer recruiter like I was, you need to stop being a pussy and do your fucking job. If you are a non-volunteer, guess what? You voluntarily joined the Air Force, so stop being a pussy and do your fucking job. The Air Force needs strong young men and women to do perform the mission. And, oh by the way, people (yes Air Force people too) are dying in combat. Do the job the Air Force entrusted you with---or go see your shirt and commander and ask for your discharge--we don't need you if you are to much of a wimp to make an effort.
Call me Daddy-
I won't call you daddy and won't call you sir either (at least more than likely). Let me guess, you are god's gift to the world because you have a history degree and a rockin' 2.75 GPA. If that is the case, there is the Army, Marine Corp and Navy to choose from...remember hero, the Air Force isn't the only branch. If you are a high caliber applicant (and as smart as you seem to think you are) how about you get in touch with the recruiter's supervisor? Or are you too much of an idiot to ask for the supervisor's number. I hope I didn't help you too much....on second thought, just stay at McDonald's genius.

Neal,

Damn right buddy! The Air Force only puts in about 500 to 1000 prior service recruits per year. I wish you did have that bozo's job...he is probably up there in New York telling all the recruits about how hard is life is.

I am an Army Recruiter and unlike the idiot Marine recruiter on here I know how to spell Saturday. He must have needed a waiver just to get in.

I also hate recruiting duty but guess what - do what you either volunteered for or like me - was chosen to do. I have the least amount of time out of 135 recruiters and hate every minute of it.

The Marine and Air Force Recruiters by me are loving it and barely work while I work 16 or more hours a damn day. I would rather be in Iraq fighting because I talked with my family more then by phone, computer or whatever.

I love our country, military and all that it stands for. I come from an Air Force family. I am qualified in everyway, although, the AF is currently downsizing by 40,000 enlisted and their prior service program is closed until October 2007. I do not understand the drawdown with Iraq/Afgan wars going on??? One team...one fight....I say increase all the branches, increase pay, support the troops and their families hooorah!!! Neal

Go to your 1st shirt or sick call and tell them how you feel, this job is a roller coaster ride and there are times when it's super difficult! Or just work on getting better, there are books, tapes and other fellow recruiters that can help you with your sales skills. I think you should just concentrate on getting better!

After suffering through the first paragraph of your poorly worded, grammatical nightmare of a post, the last thing I expected to begin the second was a shot at somebody else's educational background. The original poster's dissatisfaction with his crappy job has exactly dick to do with people dying ANYWHERE in the world, let alone the middle east, and you cheapen their deaths by using them to make your worthless point. It's one thing to volunteer for a soul sucking job like recruiter (and thanks to brainless sheep such as yourself, the service will always find a few) it's quite another to get yanked into it against your will. All these poor fools have to look forward to for the next three years is gladhanding a bunch of former felons and illegal immigrants.

Oh, and serving with moronic tools like you.

I am a female recruiter in Texas. I have been out here for 2 years and will complete my time because I have personal goals NOT USAREC goals that motivate me so to the first guy who wants out play your own game out here even if you still get the hours, bull, haters. People will help you if you ask. Trust me I still hate it everyday but I run my recruiting game not them no matter what they want in the planning guide and I still make mission.

OK answer this one please- say you are a recruiter and you have a crooked boss, I mean really crooked....So much so the recruiter I replaced was sleeping with applicants and was awarded the gold badge (the boss knew)anyways...I always make over goal, I work 12 hour days, I get my expectations accomplished and yet, the boss is gunning for me to fail examples.. he tells other flight mates that I made rank to fast, doesn't like me etc.... hes unbearable..... I think he is jealous of my military record/rank- I did out rank him for nearly a year, he then made MSGT last year since he has nearly 20 years in, he now outranks me and lets me know that everyday. What do you do with a flight chief that wants to remove your balls?

Why does the Air Force say if you have been separated for longer than 6 yrs, you cannot come back? I am 33 yrs old with 4 yrs of service, honorable discharge.
