yeah, it's sure not worth a million now. we lost good solid businesses and a town we all recognized as our home town. and for what? a pretty new intersection........a bunch of red lights nobody sees a need for. the minds that got together and thought this mess up had to really have been bored.

"Good solid businesses"??? Out of all those old, broken down, mildewed, leaky buildings that were torn down there were maybe 6 businesses left and those were hanging on. You people can't see the forest for the trees. Youre just reminiscing of the full town that was there years ago. If this didn't occur with the town, all you would have had were fewer and fewer businesses in rundown, nasty buildings and more and more empty ones being condemned. In other words, nothing and no one to help by tearing them down. There are better things coming, but people like you would rather have the old than the new.

I think people got a lot of money for all those nasty, rundown, and empty buildings. Does anyone know who profited the most?

One of the proposals was to buy 6&20 mile branch. They could have blown those mountain tops down in that holler , filled it up and had a bigger and better place than southern gap and the new Grundy put together. They could have kept the parts of the old town that they wanted to and made one road from Grundy across the mountain to 6 & 20. This was turned down because it was too cheap and there wouldn't be enough millions for all the fingers that were in the pot.

Those millions had to be used to pay for what was bought from the ones who did the planning and their family and relatives. millions was paid for one room businesses. No outsiders could be involved. millions of it went to the Powers family and relatives in those houses in cow town and royal city and it was called flood control.
