John Boehner is pulling back. After two stressful years as Washington's most powerful Republican and a pair of failed, high-profile rounds of budget talks with President Barack Obama - and disappointment over Obama's re-election - the battle-scarred House speaker has adopted a you-first approach to the Democrat in the White House, his allies who ... Every time we pass up a chance at a grand bargain to reign in our deficit we increase the size of the problem. Boehner has been burned by Obama striking a deal only to renig on his promises because a more favorable one to his tax increases looked possible in the senate.

Now that Obama showed himself to be dishonest in his negations Boehner did the right thing saying lets see what you can come up with then I will talk with my people. This whole sequestration thing was Obama's idea let Obama explain to the people when it starts hurting.

is prez being truthful? according to bob woodward, no stooge for the republicans, sequestration idea comes from white house:

“...it was then–White House chief of staff Jack Lew who introduced the idea of sequestration into the debt-ceiling negotiations that consumed Washington, D.C., in the summer of 2011.“Reid bent down and put his head between his knees, almost as if he were going to throw up,” Woodward writes.

That, according to both Woodward and Republican lawmakers, is how President Obama strong-armed sequestration into the Budget Control Act of 2011, and why the president today bears responsibility for finding a way out of the problem he created.”

Obama owned Boehner in all the negotiations thus far. Remember him trying to go back and ask for the deal he turned down months before? He couldnt get his deal and then tried his failed plan B. Remember that one as well?

You are free to selectively remember the sequestration deal and call it all Obama's, yet it passed with easy support from your "republicans" in the house. Now they are trying to back away from it.

Poor repubs, moved soo far right they have painted themselves into a corner. So far right that the only way to move back center is to agree that some of the dem's policies they are moving forward with are indeed the best path. That or continue the failed policies and obstructionism that lost them the last election.

You helped make this mess, now you get to lay in it.

Never mind the video of Paul Ryan saying "this is the law we helped make" back when the budget deal went through. Now all of a sudden it's all Obama's fault.

You loony toons come here and go on and on about how Obama wants Big gov and so on; then you turn around and say all the sequester is his fault. You know the sequester is shrinking the gov right? You know both of those can not be correct, right? If you stop and use common sense for half a freaking second this stuff might actually make sense to you.
