Of course differences are not that great. In spite of the propaganda from Fox and MSNBC there is not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties.

Look at Obama. He ran on change we can believe in yet has delivered more of the same. In reality this is Bush's fourth term.

Same reckless deficit spending.

Same high unemployment rates particularly amongst blacks and hispanics (Obama must be a racist).

Same government bailouts for big business.

Same reckless policies towards the Moslem world. We have no business in Yemen, Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, Syria... Obama goes from one crusade to the next... at least Bush stopped at two.

President Obama cheers the end of the talks and is off to Hawaii for a lavish vacation at tax slave expense. He got a mandate from the American people to leave our economy in shambles and he promises that our Nation will be near complete fiscal collapse after he is done with us. What an exciting time for America's enemies at home and abroad.

ok lets look at this as tennis

President wins election and serves
when it's Boehner's play, he couldn't return the serve

If the house GOP can not come up with a reasonable package that they will vote for the President can sit and wait he has no option, it would be insane for him to try to do the speakers job as well as the Presidents.

common sense
the GOP had claimed that elimination of deduction would be a better solution to the revenue issue
The President claims that there aren't enough cut-able deduction to raise the need revenue

Put them to a test

pass the presidents package then the house and senate can vote on cutting individual deductions
with the understanding that any deduction that are cut mitigate the increase in tax rates

my bet is sadly there is no package that the house GOP will allow to pass

Some have forgotten it was this house and senate, and the absentee president, that got us to this point. All they did back then, was procrastinate. Now they are expected to change what was passed back then. I call BS. Bring on the cliff, and then we'll see who, if anyone gets re-elected.

Negative, what I am saying is, if the agreement from the last debt ceiling "crisis", was good then, then it is good now. Live with it. What you are saying, more or less is; just pass something, and fix it later.

Markets fell by better than 1% today
The pressure, inside and outside of politics is going to get intense the GOP house is out numbered and outflanked.
