Why do liberals oppose legal gun ownershipe anyways? I haven't heard any in their posts about why they don't like the 2nd amendment,. or why they want nation wide backgound checks when it's already been proven that they won't keep guns out of criminal hands. So why?

The limited background checks we have DO help guns out of criminals hands - at least 1.7 million so far and 40% of sales aren't covered. It stands to reason that making it universal - 100% of sales - would prevent even more guns from getting into the wrong hands.

Nobody thinks it is a 100% solution, but success is about multiple measures that each do some good.

See, the position is based on logic, reason, and proven success. Why would you reject that? Should I make the claim the conservatives want criminals to be able to easily get guns? Should I say that conservatives want more gun crime? That's just as rational as your questions.

Why not just enforce laws that are currently on the books? It's going after Americans that are law abiding while at the same time criminals are being ignored, which makes it look as if it's a slow creep toward lawful gun ownership. Why not start with mandatory sentences on those who use a gun during a crime? That seems like a better deterrent then getting in the way of legal gun ownership or why not just promote gun safety?

I can't help but always fall back to the argument that the left wants to reduce deaths from guns (supposedly), while at the same time approve of abortion. Now what they hell kind of sense does that make??

Guns = BAD @ a death rate of around 10,000-11,000 per year.

Abortion = GOOD @ a death rate of around 1.6 million per year.

WTF!?!?
