It was "just one of those crazy accidents," in the words of the local coroner: A 5-year-old in Cumberland County, Ky., accidentally shot and killed his 2-year-old sister yesterday with a .22-caliber rifle.
But unlike many suchtragedies, the rifle in this case actually belonged to the child, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports. The gun, which he received as a gift last year, was inadvertently left loaded with a single shell in a corner of the family's home.

Awesome!
I do not call these types of incidents
" accidents ".

It was 100 percent avoidable and the parents should be made to answer in a court of law.

The fact that you used the word "awesome" in a post about the death of a child is obnoxiousness to say the least and you should reconsider your place among decent human beings.

Thanks for the links, but they still do NOT prove me wrong. In fact,^this^ link bolsters my claims of the incompetence of Holder and his staff (Section 4.a, pg. 453)

And it still doesn't address why Obama had to use executive priviledge to block the investigation of Holder (or I haven't read that far into it yet).

Like I said.....prove me wrong.

You claimed the operation was overseen by Eric Holder. I posted three separate investigations that found that no high-ranking appointees to the DOJ had anything to do with F&F and specifically cleared Holder of knowledge or involvement. Issa himself said he didn't believe Holder or the President knew of the operation.

So I HAVE proven you wrong.

This is an example of bad parenting and a lack of firearm safety. A responsible parent would not have left the firearm unsecured. The parents are at fault, not the gun. The parents should be held accountable and prosecuted.

As soon as our perverse federal government re-institutes the Constitutional militia. Then I will start employing it in the clause. Until then, take a hike, spambot.

Background checks can be and are being abused.
Not to mention UNCONSTITUTIONAL. For they defeat the whole purpose of the right being SECURED from government intrusion.

With the need to cut a steak, the ownership of a knife is encouraged. Notice the first part tells just one use of a knife but does not limit the uses of said knife. You did take second grade english didn't you?

Stop trying to blame all of society for the actions/stupidity of a few individuals!
Now bud, calm down. You know that they can't help it. Their communist-socialist indoctrination makes them lump everything together. Since they have emasculated themselves, they want everyone else to join them in their misery. It's rather sad really, in addition to being absolutely PATHETIC. ;)

Indeed. And just think, that was one of the reasons We The People formed our governments in order to prevent. Yet now, the government seems to be promoting ignorance. Jefferson put it best here:

"The people cannot be all, & always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusetts: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen-yard in order. I hope in God this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted."--Thomas Jefferson, Nov. 13, 1787 letter to William S. Smith.
