"No, surely, No! they meant to drive us into what they termed rebellion, that they might be furnished with a pretext to disarm and then strip us of the rights and privileges of Englishmen and Citizens."--George Washington, March 1, 1778 letter to Bryan Fairfax, Valley forge.
"If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government ... The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms..."--Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers No. 28.
"The people cannot be all, & always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusetts: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen-yard in order. I hope in God this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted."--Thomas Jefferson, Nov. 13, 1787 letter to William S. Smith.
"Whereas civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as military forces, which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article [the Second Amendment] in their right to keep and bear their private arms."--Tench Coxe, under pseudonym "A Pennsylvanian," Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789.(Mr. Coxe was a leading proponent of the Constitution and Bill of Rights and an American political economist and a delegate for Pennsylvania to the Continental Congress in 1788-1789. He was appointed revenue commissioner by President George Washington on June 30, 1792).

Here are the facts you need to know:

- Your gun does NOT make it look like you have anything approaching an average penis. In fact, you need to own it is a dead give away for your inadequacy down there.

- Your position is unsupportable with logic. You can't distinguish which people should or should not have guns, you can't distinguish which weapons should or should not be legal. Therefore it's meaningless.

- The VAST majority of Americans are fed up with your lunatics and your desire to hurt children. We are going to take away your toys.

Because those laws recognized by all as "natural laws" do not cover many of the other rights identified and guaranteed by our constitution.

You aren't arguing for "self defense" and to pretend you are is dishonest.

You are mad because you feel like owning a machine gun tricks women into thinking you have an adult sized penis.

Sadly for you, it doesn't.

Except that that's dishonest.

Damn. You really can't handle honesty can you?

You gun nuts ran to stock up on guns when Obama was first elected. You opposed him for re-election based on his "wanting to get your guns".

Meanwhile, during his first 4 years in office, Obama was the _MOST PRO GUN PRESIDENT_ in recent history. Perhaps ever.

You prove your uninformed ignorance of the subject matter every time you open your mouth. I've asked you politely several times to show us where a MACHINE GUN has EVER been used in a mass shooting in America and you have completely ignored the question and continued with your foolishly stupid assertion that innocent people are being cut to pieces with MACHINE GUNS. So, show us just one case where a MACHINE GUN was used in a mass shooting or will will you just continue the liberal/communist habit of lying through your teeth if you think it will get you what you want? Come on, just ONE CASE of a MACHINE GUN being used anywhere in the USA to commit a mass shooting. Like all lying liberal/commies I suspect you'll just ignore the question again and keep shouting your lie as if someone might believe it. Just one case........ya can't, can ya?

Come on Nuggie! I figure you need to go all the way back to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre to find anything even remotely close to a MACHINE GUN (it was Tompson Sub-machine guns) being used in a mass shooting. Show us just one case of a MACHINE GUN being used in a mass shooting in America.

So what will this B.S. legislation do except make people feel good?
Absolutly NOTHING...It's just to appease all the low information voters to make it look as if congress and the president has done something. Instead of enforcing the laws on the books they're just playing a game of shells. The bill probably and hopfully won't pass anyways.

"The courts are not bound by mere form, nor are they to be misled by mere pretenses. They are at liberty -- indeed they are under a solemn duty -- to look at the substance of things, whenever they enter upon the inquiry whether the legislature has transcended the limits of its authority. If, therefore, a statute purported to have been enacted to protect ... the public safety, has no real or substantial relation to those objects or is a palpable invasion of Rights secured by the fundamental law, it is the duty of the courts to so adjudge, and thereby give effect to the Constitution."-- Mulger vs. Kansas, 123 US 623, 661.
Now go run along and play on the freeway little dolt.

You are trying to change the argument but I'm not going to let you do it.

Your side is trying to argue that ALL WEAPONS are protected by the 2nd amendment INCLUDING machine guns.

I'm asking you to describe a REAL situation in which having a MACHINE GUN in your bedroom is going to protect you better than a shotgun.

WHY do you feel you _NEED_ a machine gun for self preservation?

LOL. This is why Conservative ALWAYS lose on EVERY issue.

Since you've embraced the "education is bad" side of the debate, you latch onto "facts" which either simply aren't factual, or are completely irrelevant to the discussion in the first place.

Citing someone's opinion about an anti-segregation case as a reason why US citizens require access to missile launchers for example.

Seriously, can you name a SINGLE Conservative position that has won? EVER?

Slavery? Gone.
Kill all gays? Gone.
Rape all women? Gone.
Blacks and Whites can't marry? Gone.
Women can't vote? Gone.
Anti-Abortion? Lost that one too
Blacks can't vote? Lost that.
Can't teach evolution in schools? Gone.
Theocratic rule? Gone.

Seriously. Is there a SINGLE issue where you guys win?

Side question: Is there a SINGLE issue where you don't threaten people with violence?

Squatch, your argument makes no sense.

You are saying that because someone hasn't used a machine gun to kill children, therefore machine guns aren't dangerous.

AND, you are simultaneously saying that because someone HAS used an assault rifle to kill children, we should allow anyone to own one.

Pick a position that at least APPROACHES rationality.

Is there _ANY_ weapon that you believe falls BEYOND the scope of the 2nd Amendment and WHY?

Prove WHAT isn't true?

That Conservatives have made it impossible for the ATF to monitor gun sales?

You win! You're right. Conservative ANTI-law enforcement policies have DIRECTLY led to the high crime rates in areas where guns can be easily obtains and are untraceable.
