Right-Wing Agenda Has Failed
The American people have voted to save America. The men and women who do the work and fight the wars have voted “left.”
Right-wing radicals and their campaign to stigmatize everything that is “left” has failed, yet continues. The local radio airwaves are replete with angry, right-wing talk show hosts and op-ed articles in this newspaper have leveled charges of communism, hatred for President Obama and distorted historical facts.
Right-wing extremists since the McCarthy era have tried to silence those on the left who were critical of corporations and government institutions that had too much power.
Union organizers were called un-American, and sometimes jailed. Young people who were not yet conditioned to conform began to push back. In 1960, Tom Hayden and Al Haber formed Students for a Democratic Society, calling for a restoration of participatory democracy. In 1964, a “Free Speech” movement gained prominence at UCLA that grew out a clash between students and administrators.
The last straw was the Vietnam War, when free-thinking students protested because they had to register for the draft at 18 but had to be 21 to vote.
Right-wing conservatives were shocked how anyone could question authority. Of course, the upper class that was politically connected helped their children weasel out of the draft. Most of the men who did the fighting were working-class whites and minorities.

Right-Wing Agenda Has Failed

Liberals, progressives and Democratic socialists will continue to push back by speaking the truth regarding power. Examining the motives of extreme-right thinking reveals the illegitimate moral, ethical or economic stand one might glean from Republicans or their clients, the upper 2 percent to 3 percent of society.

The essence of their arguments is a deviant form of individualism, greed and power. Hypocrisy becomes all too clear when one considers that Republican leaders call for less government spending on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security while they accept votes from members of their party who take advantage of these programs.

Politics, of course, is the art of garnering power and politicians of either party would accept money or votes from the devil himself. What characterizes the GOP, however, is the way in which party hacks representing moneyed interests use government largesse for their own brand of entitlements, benefiting their business clients.

Tax loopholes, bailouts, loan guarantees, abatements, infrastructure incentives and unreported giveaways under the pretense of economic development shift the burden of lost tax revenue to the middle class.

And what do the working men and women of America get in return? A flag to wave while business leaves our country in search of cheap labor. As a result, middle-class families are losing the wherewithal to be viable consumers, hurting the overall economy.
The hypocrisy of the Republican Party never ceases to amaze me. While Republicans preach to us about the trickle-down effects of the free market, large corporations break every principle in the book relative to free market theory and it goes unreported in the press.

Monopolies eliminate principles of supply and demand by destroying their competition in order to engage in price fixing. They charge consumers prices for goods and services based on “whatever the market will bear.” Gas and oil companies manipulate prices at will.

Interlocking directorates enable large corporations to act in unison when moving into the political arena to back a political candidate or to shape foreign policy. Corporations use buyouts and bankruptcy to break union contracts. They threaten employees with leaving the country unless they make wage and benefit concessions.

Why are politicians afraid to discuss these issues? The cult of individualism-competition as opposed to cooperation — the hallmark of capitalism and a corollary to Republican conservative thinking, transcends political parties in America.
Society at large, all of us , reveal the limits of the value of individualism as a social philosophy by our behavior. Whether it is the immorality of abortion of profit above all things human, the consequences of such behavior has disastrous results on the psychological and financial well-being of all of us, especially our children.

Until people are able to ask themselves what impact their behavior will have on others, immorality will not be distinguishable to us. If we forfeit our potential as beings with a conscience, greed, power, aggression and materialism will be our only motive for existence.

ROMNEY ADVISER BLAMES ‘FAR RIGHT’ FOR REPUBLICAN FAILURE WITH HISPANICS

The GOP’s mutual recriminations have been pouring in since the day after the 2012 presidential election. But unlike the brief spats of 2008, which mostly converted to an argument that the GOP failed because it hadn’t really tried, this time the knives are really out, and for precisely the groups with the most incentive to argue against change – namely, immigration restrictionists and social conservatives.

Or, as Latino Romney adviser Carlos Gutierrez calls them,“the far right.” Appearing on “Face the Nation” with CNN’s Candy Crowley today, Gutierrez blamed an unspecified coalition of “far right” conservatives for dragging the GOP away from its roots, and for casting an otherwise noble party in a retrogressive role.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” Gutierrez said.“We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. These immigrants who come across, and what they do wrong is they risk their lives and they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream. That is what the GOP is!”

With Bags of Cash, C.I.A. Seeks Influence in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — For more than a decade, wads of American dollars packed into suitcases, backpacks and, on occasion, plastic shopping bags have been dropped off every month or so at the offices of Afghanistan’s president — courtesy of the Central Intelligence Agency.

All told, tens of millions of dollars have flowed from the C.I.A. to the office of President Hamid Karzai, according to current and former advisers to the Afghan leader.

“We called it ‘ghost money,’” said Khalil Roman, who served as Mr. Karzai’s deputy chief of staff from 2002 until 2005.“It came in secret, and it left in secret.”

Estimated 600 billion dollars

We need to hold some illegals and the employers of illegal aliens up as an example and castrate (figuratively seeking of course) them. Build the fence and guard it with deadly force. Crack down and make them run.
Amnesty would do anything more than ring the dinner bell for a pack of hungry dogs.
Nothing extreme, just enforce the laws as written.
It's been tried before and it has FAILED each time. Get with the program. How much is the US Green Card Lottery Application and Processing Cost? Charge a big dollar amount to enter the lottery and use the proceeds for pork barrel deals made in cigar filled rooms. Use your natural ability to exploit the common man. Do something different for once. It's insane to keep trying the same tactics over and over again hoping that some day it will work.
