<quoted text>Thank you X-Man. But we are all adults here or at least should be. When you are dealing with someone that is truly racist it's a lost cause I know. Those beliefs go deep and are strong. They consume the holder with hate and contempt for others.
But I don't believe that all the conservatives on these threads are racist. I believe they are scared which is something we should all understand. These are scary times. We live one day to the next not knowing what will happen next. Korea is basically threatening us with nuclear warfare. The Muslim Countries want us gone in all ways possible. The world economy is hitting the bottom. Our economy is not what it should be. We have laws that go outside of our Constitution yet they are being allowed to stand. Those laws hurt our right to privacy. They allow law to break in your door at home regardless of warrent. The Patriot Act isn't Constitutional but it stays in force. I see where Briton and America is working up laws to take money out of Wall Street earnings by stock holders as well as Banks and Bank Deposit Boxes which belong to customers or so I had always thought. They also have given themselves the right to go into someones box without the customers knowledge. That will be where the next money comes from to save those to big to fail. No more tax payer money.
It's a scary world out there. I understand their concern.
I completely agree that these are times of great concern but in reality this has always been the case. There has always been something to be concerned about and there always will be. This is the price we pay for living in a country of our stature and influence.

I certainly don't believe that all conservatives are racist but, unfortunately, many racists have flocked to, and found refuge in the Republican party. We see proof of that on these threads every day.

The other day, even you and I disagreed about a word that many conservatives have no problem using. I saw your disagreement more as naivety than racist or prejudice because I truly know you to be a fair and non prejudice person but I can't say the same for most others that post here.

<quoted text>My point all along is that it isn't all about Obama. Both of our political parties have been doing a number on America/Americans for a very long time. This is all part of the thrust towards being Governed by the UN in my opinion. It was necesarry for the politicians to bring down our wages and bring up third world countries in order to bring in a world wide basic wage. JMO. But in the mean time they had to cover those people that are left by the roadside with no real options. That is again JMO, this way they hope to keep any internal war from happening.
All this stuff about how it's his fault isn't fact. He can only do so much especilly when he has had a Republican party that believed they could bring him down by just saying NO.
This is the first rational post by you that I can agree with. I don't know how sincere it is though.

Ahh let's clarify what you said a bit. Promoting small business creates jobs and growth. Giving all the tax breaks to million dollar corporations has done nothing to promote jobs in this Country. The trickle down has a dam blocking it. I believe it's called greed.

Mychal Massie is a respected writer and black talk show host in Los Angeles.
October, 2012
The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn't like the Obama's? Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama's? It seems personal, not policy related. You even dissed (disrespect) their Christmas family picture."
The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation. I've made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas. As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don't like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.
I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America. They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama's raw contempt for white America is transpicuous.
I don't like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress. I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President .......... Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job. Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?
Presidents are politicians and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard, the Obama's have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths. They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.
I do not like them, because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to now being able to be proud of America. I view that statement and that mindset as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny, could come and ........
I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides things, is because they have something to hide." No president in history has spent over a million dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.
And what the two of them have shared has been proved to be lies. He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother's death and problems with insurance,.... He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address. He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman.........
I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies. We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.
Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies. And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.
I could go on, but let me conclude with this. I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are. There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white president and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.
As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero In The White House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed......

The problem with you is that you cannot separate the issue of homosexuality and the issue of marriage.
Marriage is a heterosexual institution that was never intended for same sex couples. You want equal treatment when it comes to marriage then get married to a girl. If you marry a boy then it is not the same. If it is not the same then call it something different and get on with life.
You can insult me and disrespect the entire gay community all you want. What you can't do is change a few facts of life that your "superior" intellect seems to have missed.

Marriage, at least the legal definition of marriage, is decided by the state not by the church and not by some bitter homophobe on Topix.

The state that issued our marriage license says that marriage is a union between to consenting adults regardless of gender.

I am legally married to a man and there is nothing you can do about that except whine about it on these threads.

I'm not sure what it is that you're so afraid of, but you are on the wrong side of history and you have thrown your lot in with the likes of American Lady and Positronium and you are going to have to live with that.

Personally I think it's a hilarious.

There has been times of concern but not to this extreme. It's rather like the little Dutch boy trying to stop the leaks in the dam by sticking his fingers and toes in the holes. In time he runs out of both. It's more like we are being assailed from all sides.
As to our discussion the other day you do realize that I was basing what I said on what I had been told by Mexican friends of mine. After all that happened I went back to them and asked them again. Even saying to them don't you realize that it's being said as an insult. They said they did. But they didn't take it that way. I guess in retrospect anything negative that is said to one has power only if it effectively hurts the one it was said to. If they could care less it no longer has any power.
Remember the old saying of sticks and stones can break my bones but names can never hurt me. The only power they have is what one allows it to have.
But I do now know that enough people find offense by it so I won't be overlooking it as I did before.

DP, I like a good argument as much as the next guy (or gal) but exchanging posts with folks that will not even acknowledge what IS NORMAL and ABNORMAL, what is a mental dysfunction occurring in the womb leading to behaviours Nature did NOT intend, is fruitless AND TIRING.

notice how they twist what is written TO FIT THEIR, er, LOGIC.

neither you OR I have passed any judgements on gays, have we?

both Jax and X have come out IN FAVOR of States Rights as regards marriage, same-sex or otherwise. guess that doesn't make it a RIGHT, does it?(watch them spin this!LOL)

the so-called Progressive 'Chistians' are one of the MAIN reasons that I am an agnostic and politically Independent: people that don't, can't or WON'T believe 100% of ANY orgaizations' dogma/platform should NOT claim membership. we call that being a HYPOCRITE (or a POSER or being a 'mole').

stay frosty...

I understand what you're saying and respect the fact that you recognize the insult in it. That's the difference between you and other conservatives who would just dismiss what I said and continue on with what they wanted to say because they feel entitled to use that sort of language regardless of it's offensive nature.

I also agree that there are many concerns on Americas plate right now but I have faith in our president and in our armed forces, not that we as citizens should close our eyes to those concerns but I hope we will come together in the future opposed to dividing farther apart. I can only imagine how powerful a nation we would be with more solidarity and strength in a united citizenry.

This vendetta you have against Rose really brings out the worst in you Posit.
It's ugly and unbecoming of a good Christian I would think.
I'm not sure why is it you and others feel that you can attack Rose and expect her not to defend herself.
I have no vendetta against anybody. I have experience with seeing her posts to form an opinion. She can defend herself all she wants. My opinion is mine. It stands with others' like it.
