Obama has failed big-time. He puts his vacations and golf games above the children and welfare of the country. Only a scum-bag POS would do that. He is our version of Nero. Burn baby burn. WE WILL REMEMBER YOU,you POS. You can't hide.

No doubt you do.

Anyhow:

The GOP Can't Reach Beyond Its Base Without Confronting Its Hucksters

A new RNC report frets about its inability to reach people who don't already identify as partisan Republicans.

The Republican National Committee is finally acknowledging what dissidents on the right have warned about for years: "We have become expert in how to provide ideological reinforcement to like-minded people," a new report on reforming the GOP states, "but devastatingly we have lost the ability to be persuasive with, or welcoming to, those who do not agree with us on every issue."

This isn't a problem that the national party can solve on its own. Conservative principles and Republican policy ideas mostly reach the rank and file via mass media. But Fox News, most talk-radio hosts, most right-leaning websites, and even donor-driven organizations with communications shops, like the Heritage Foundation, aren't just "preaching to the choir" out of stubbornness. It's their business strategy.

Surviving as an institution in the "telling conservatives what they want to hear" niche is a lot easier than doing so in the "attracting an ideologically diverse audience with quality content" niche. The part of the rank and file that watches Fox News, listens to Rush Limbaugh, or reads Breitbart.com as a primary information source doesn't demand content that would meet editorial standards at outlets like NPR or The New York Times, where the human tendency toward ideological bias is tempered by practices like addressing factual inaccuracies with corrections. Donors to the Heritage Foundation don't demand scholarship as rigorous as you find at Brookings.(cont.)

Lol Thank you. Yes some here really have a Hate thing for the one the accused you of being. But I`v not seen that poster on here for about a year. Though She may still be around posting stealth. You can rest assured that being compared to Her that former Poster is a high honor.
There is one poster here that claimed She came to her house. That Woman is a real hatched from an egg that was dropped off the Empire State Building. Paranoid is one description.
Because the Tit for Tat back then got pretty intense some times. And That former poster always knocked their Dk`s and Woozies in the dirt every time. She had more smarts than all of em , and it showed!
That is one reason they all hated her. Just like when Bonnie shows back up now and then. The Minute they see her it`s full tilt Attack Mode.
Oh no you can't be talking about Plainfield Mom! You said the poster was smart!

Can you please leave me out of your meth-enhanced fairy tales?

The Politics of Misperception

Ever wonder what our public discourse would be like if everyone agreed on the facts? You can keep wondering.

A lot of Americans don't know the precise details of how their country works. Here are three examples:

........

2. People think balancing the budget will lead to job growth. In fact, in the absence of strong economic growth or other sources of increased revenue, economists believe that dramatically cutting the federal budget enough to balance it would lead to job cuts and economic contraction in the short term. This is what we're seeing already with the much smaller cut of the sequester -- job cuts, pay cuts, furloughs, and so on. It's all expected to be a minor drag on the economy, clipping the rate of growth of a recovery that's just starting to heat up. But according to Politico, internal Republican polling shows that people believe cutting even more jobs by cutting the federal government by another order of magnitude will lead to more jobs, rather than more unemployment.(cont.)
