"According to projections from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), entitlements and ObamaCare spending will comprise 53% of all federal spending over the coming decade, totaling $24.9 trillion.

In fact, over the next decade, the federal government will collect only $2.6 trillion in dedicated revenues for its mandatory spending programs, as opposed to $31.6 trillion in spending."

You get what you voted for.

Progressivism means moving forward.... not backwards as in the case conservatism.

Think your health care is expensive now? Wait until it's free!
In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.
The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.
The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan.
“The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says.

Yes, as in jumping off a cliff (progressivism) instead of carefully considering whether or not gravity will cause the normally expected outcome (conservatism). SPLAT!

That's why we are $17 trillion in debt with no end in sight. Liberal La La Land will bring us to financial ruin, but that's ok, because we're "moving forward". LOL!

Yes, but in description only but not in ideology or practice and you are just looking for an argument now.
And I thought you were better than that.
I should have known you weren't.

And you expect me to buy your CONservatism kool-aid drunkenness that $17 trillion is all the fault of liberals.

At least under Obama, Gov't spending is down.

Government spending under Obama including his signature stimulus bill is rising at a 1.4% annualized pace - slower than any time in the past 60 yrs.
Wall Street Journal May 22, 2012

Here are some figures for the spending growth of recent administrations:

Reagan 82'- 85', Government growth 8.7%
Reagan 86'- 89', Government growth 4.9%
Papa Bush 90'- 93', Government growth 5.4%
Clinton 94'- 97', Government growth 3.2%
Clinton 98'- 01', Government growth 3.9%
Baby Bush 02'- 05', Government growth 7.3%
Baby Bush 06'- 09', Government growth 8.1%
Obama 10'- 13', Government growth 1.4%

Obama has spent less and grown government less than at any time since Eisenhower.

Why are Republicans continually lying and attacking Obama on growing government and government spending? Why do they lie so much?

And why do so many people believe these lies?

Useful idiots - exactly how Obama was elected. The videos showing the absolute ignorance of so many Americans (on both sides of the aisle) makes me wish there was a test to determine voting eligibility.

When Nanny Pelosi said: "We have to pass the (Obamacare) bill so you can find out what is in it", many of us knew then it would never have passed if the truth was exposed. That said, I can't wait to see these fools jumping off cliffs when the reality of Obamacare hits.

That claim is complete BS. The AHA is all about power and eventually nationalizing health care by making private insurance unaffordable.

Parthenon,

Re: Post 100233

Again, you have lumped ALL women and ALL men into categories - men being capable and competent and women being a "drag" on combat operations. I hate stereotypes. They get it wrong about 75% of the time because they fail to consider individual characteristics. Some women will outperform some men in every single category you mentioned. SOME women will run a helluva' lot faster than SOME men. The Army, for example, will take just about any warm body that shows up. That's not true for The Air Force. It's hard to recruit intellect for infantry work. So, you have to consider that lazy paunchy young men who aren't the sharpest tools in the shed will, indeed, show up. You might also be recruiting a young Wilma Rudolph;-) Hard to say.

What you also fail to acknowledge is that all recruits will receive exactly the same training. It is at the conclusion of that training that commanding officers can tell WHO (male or female) has the stamina, common sense, and conditioning to perform versus who should be assigned as a desk jockey or field support. You continue to incorrectly imply that officers have no input into duties assigned. You're wrong.

A 5'9" athletic and well toned woman is probably every bit as capable as most men. You view life through patronizing stereotypes. Women have won the right to advance their military careers with this decision. Good for them. They, too, are already dying in service to their country. Now, they will have the potential for rewards for their service that have heretofore been denied them.

The fear is of creating an entitlement mentality which results in our going bankrupt. What part of $17 trillion in debt is at all fuzzy?
Look at the mess in Europe. They've been where we are going. It simply does not work.
Grow a brain.
The "fear" is in having society send people to work for thirty or forty years making a contribution but unable to secure a nest egg for the end of life years. The "fear" is of more old folks without food, shelter, medical care - after they did their duties and contributed until they were no longer wanted or needed in the work force. The longer they stay in the work force, the longer a young American has to wait to get started. Know what I mean?

Where are all those company pensions workers once counted on? Disappearing almost as rapidly as their former companies close the company and outsource or offshore their jobs. What does that leave them with? Savings (not nearly enough for those who aren't of the investor class) and Social Security/Medicare. Now, let's gut those programs and what do you have? It looks like a return to the ancient days and ways where the elderly and infirm were sent to walk off away from the group and die alone so they wouldn't be a burden.

When we foist the financial responsibility for the elderly onto the backs of their adult children who are already struggling to support and educate their own children, you ain't seen nothing yet like the anger that will overtake this society.

President Obama: The Biggest Government Spender In World History

The U.S. has never before had a President who thinks so little of the American people that he imagines he can win re-election running on the opposite of reality. But that is the reality of President Obama today.

Waving a planted press commentary, Obama recently claimed on the campaign stump,“federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any President in almost 60 years.”
