1) A temporary amnesty is awarded all who are present illegally for 90 days (TBD). A public announcement is circulated that the United States Government is affording a one time only opportunity to apply for legal temporary guest worker positions. Applicants must have resided and worked in the U.S.A. for no fewer than 5 or 10 consecutive years (TBD), have filed tax returns with the IRS using their legitimate ITIN number and invalid social security number. They must come forward, apply for the program and sign a waiver with the IRS permitting release of their tax filings in order to qualify.
Okay. Let's discuss this one section at a time.
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with that other then the 5 to 10 yr thing. If we are really planning on having an immigration plan that will rid us of illegals we need to include those that have either American family or Permanent resident families here, regardless of the time spent here by the illegal. It isn't right in my opinion to force families apart or make legal residents and citizens to have to live in a Country that could be a danger to them.
If we truly are about the family and the American way then this needs to be part of the plan.

Hey, higgans.
Please explain the meaning that you were trying to convey with this statement:
"define 'accept'. it must not include work with, hire, dine with, socialize, allow them to medicate or operate on oneself, care/teach children,????"
This can be taken in either of two ways. Are you implying that you object to acceptance if it includes these things, or are you saying that you have already embraced these aspects? It isn't clear to me from your post which is your position. Sorry.
Also, you asked:
"is it UNreasonable or prejudiced to expect fellow contrypersons to SHARE similar traits and characteristics outside of physical looks?".
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that. Unrealistic, perhaps, but not necessarily unreasonable. What IS unreasonable, in the US, is to DEMAND that.
Please explain "too MUCH diversity". Do you believe that there are certain races and/or ethnicities that have no place in America? Which ones would those be?
Hey friend, so good to see you.

2) Applicants must notify their respective employers that they have applied to remain and work in the U.S.A. legally. Employers of illegals are granted a one time only pass on penalty or fine for employing illegal workers and will cooperate with government officials in any electronic request on their employee(s).
Applicants will be entered into a separate E-Verify database which is mandatory for all employers to use to authenticate worker status.
Applicants will undergo fingerprinting identification which data will be entered into a National crime database for access by law enforcement.
Okay, need a minute to look this part over.
Imagine discussing immigration reform on the Immigration reform forum.
Will the blasphemy never end?
So does that mean that e-verify will be used on only new employees or does it indicate that all employees will have to be verified by e-verify?

It was spam/copyright infringements. She blasted 4 or 5 posts of the bill trying to force feed us into reading it. Forget it, what there is right now can’t be considered anything more than a rough draft of what a few senators want. By the time it gets to the end of the line we won’t recognize it.
Topix WOULD protect their infringement and compliance terms as many of the proposals and ideas were from Marty Lich and Jan Taylor in this so called draft! So yes this falls in line with spam or taking on the false claims in the true sense of where a notion and that identifying notion was originally formed.

Most of us are taught that diversity is a good thing. In fact, state, local, and federal governments, as well as businesses don't seem to let us forget that diversity is a source--the unique source--of our strength.
And what about our American culture? If it's a culture of exclusion based on immutable characteristics, then surely you don't expect minorities to ever fully assimilate. If they try to, they're prevent from doing so. They recognize that they won't be fully accepted (are you part of this problem?).
Let's take an example to illustrate my point. Obama is black. He went to Harvard, became editor in chief of the Harvard Law Review, became a Senator, and then President. Twice. And yet, despite what most would consider the pinnacle of success, there are many folks (yourself, perhaps?) who still don't accept him because of the color of his skin. Just take a look at some of the comments on this forum. If you ain't gonna accept this highly successful individual, what makes you think that you'll accept others? Minorities understand this better than you realize.
Two points of view aren't good? Different POV, higgans, is the very basis for our form of representational government and it's implicitly recognized on the Statue of Liberty.
I agree that differing points of view are a good thing, when people agree to work with those viewpoints and compromise. However, this president has spent 4 years not listening to anyone else's viewpoint. Perhaps he is listening now, I will hold judgment for awhile, but I certainly hope he is.

So, people that employ illegals get one shot at making it right and must provide any information the governemnt requests concerning their undocumented workers.
Undocumented workers will be entered into a unique data base that will thereafter be used to verify legal guest worker status and fingerprints will be made available to law enforcement.
Am I getting this right?
I read it a bit differently Jax. It didn't look to me like a unique data base but one that the Government already has established.

Again I don't believe that part is correct about a unique data base for illegals. Isn't it a National Data Base which the Government already has?

3) Along the way, employers can access the applicant E-Verify database to check an employee's status: Application pending, Application rejected, Application Approved. At any point in the process that an employer discovers an employee has been rejected for acceptance, the employee must be promptly terminated. Failure to do so will subject that employer to fines and penalties and will prohibit the employer from using additional temporary guest workers going forward.
Part 3 seems pretty staright forward, but let's all take a minute consider the implications and then discuss it.

Agree, and here is a solid example of the government encouraging dependency.
“Welcome to USA.gov ,” a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), bills itself as the “primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States”— featuring a prominent section for new immigrants about how to access government benefits.

EXACTLY...! When a country in deep debt with over 19 million unemployed wants to make double that amount here illegally -legal... THAT is how you make all dependent on the gov. dole! What happens when that "dole" is no-no more money-flat broke no more money? What percent now becomes that original 1% or 2% that will be considered rich and top wage earners?

Family members need to be given a different method to determine if they stay. Time frame isn't the fairest way to do it.

Folks.... you cannot make this up!!!

Rush Limbaugh Denied Service at Mexican Restaurant

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh was refused service at a Mexican restaurant in Florida today while attempting to eat lunch.

The owners of Pablo's Taqueria in Palm Beach Gardens say that they have a strict "no racists" policy and kindly asked Limbaugh to leave the premises when he attempted to place his order.

He initially declined to leave the restaurant, and after a brief argument was escorted out by security guards.

The incident began when the restaurant's manager recognized Limbaugh as he was making his order. The manager approached his table and kindly asked him to leave. According to witnesses, Limbaugh then stood up and launched a racist, obscenity-laced rant.

You make it seem as if the US economy will never get back to what it was yet the US economy has a history of ups and down and you seem to want to ignore that fact.

The data base would serve as a safety measure to ensure that employers know their workers status with no plausible deniability and if they don't comply they get hit with a fine and are disqualified from using any guest workers in the future.
Yep, I thought that part was pretty much self explanatory.
Who knew immigration reform could be this much fun?
Which data base Jax. The one that is the National Data Base or the e-verify.

Your friend served this country and if I'm understanding you right he gave his life serving this country.
He is an American hero.
His child is an American citizen and the mother, regardless of her status, would be the custodial parent.
In the situation you have described there should be no doubt that your friends family stays here.
No question about it.
Don't be so quick to judge what I'm saying. We're just having a discussion here.
But what you haven't put together Jax is that if some like this woman that didn't have 5 or 10 yrs in would not be allowed to adjust status under this program. That is if the Government is giving those with citizen families the same rules to comply to.
