I might be interesting in supporting the Republican ACHIEVE Act, if it incluses those Obama recently granted waivers. If not, just say no! Just because you're here illegally shouldn't be rewarded.

<quoted text>I think the ratio of physicians to population is a better guide than "population". So, on that note:
Germany has 36 physicians for every 10,000 people.
The U.S.A. has 24 physicians for every 10,000.
Australia has 30 physicians for every 10,000.
Sweden has 38 physicians for every 10,000.
Israel has 37 physicians for every 10,000.
http://www.globalhealthfacts.org/data/topic/m...
Now, I find that VERY interesting. In countries with Socialized medicine, they seem to have MORE doctors. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? What should be evident by the numbers is that Socialized Healthcare doesn't seem to result in a shortage of doctors available to treat sick people. I think that's very encouraging.
And Canada only has 20 per 10,000.. The point is I am sure if the docs and HC workers were turned into government employees the numbers will rise.. But if you think the cost of HC is high now just imagine how much it would be then.. How would you propose to pay for such a program??

I'm Canadian and your numbers simply not true. Like most Americans, you do not understand our health care system. Let me clear up some misunderstandings you have. Number 1, we have private health care options. Our system is multi-tiered. Number 2, wait times for surgeries (non-life threatening) is 8 weeks, not 18. Number 3, it is not a "socialist" health care system. It is universal, meaning poor people just get the basics. You are not forced to have top-end insurance. I have 100% benefits coverage through my employer. Only about 35% of people in Canada are fully covered like this. Americans have way too many misconceptions about Canadian health care. Its a way better system than America has. We don't let poor people die.
YUP "poor people get the basics".. Thats all you needed to say and BTW we don't let poor people die in this country either.. They go to free health clinics and medicaid picks up the tab if not the ER's they use..

You just told TOO much about how great YOUR insurance is not! THANKS!

My only personal knowledge with Canadian health coverage is with a very close friend who now lives in the United States, but her family is still in Canada. Per my friend, her father had cancer and he did not receive adequate treatment. He needed surgery and it took a little over 12 weeks. He lived 18 months after the surgery and she blames the care he received and the delay in getting surgery. I certainly cannot be certain he would have lived longer, but she feels the care was a large contributor.
"The problems with ďuniversalĒ health care arenít confined to Britain. Canadaís single-payer, government-run system ó where any private health care is outlawed under the Canada Health Act ó is similarly failing its patients.

The Health Council of Canada recently surveyed over three thousand patients and found that those with chronic illnesses like high blood pressure or heart disease were largely dissatisfied with the medical care they received. Less than half of respondents with such conditions reported that the care they received was excellent or very good.

But arenít they getting it for free? Shouldnít they be grateful?

Not really. Despite the massive taxes Canadians remit to finance universal care, they still must pay out of pocket for some services. Nearly a quarter of chronically ill respondents said that they had skipped their medications or neglected to fill a prescription because it was too expensive."

Now pay attention to this line and for as it makes hellywood a liar.. He don't have employer paid HCI.. It would illegal in Canada..

Letís cut to the chase. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, here are the net increases in private-sector employment under each president, chronologically by party:
Republicans

Total: Increase of 42.3 million jobs. BS & crap.
You're not worth it. Nobody pays any attention to your stupid post anymore except your fellow Obama fans. It's more than obvious that your stuff is all cut & paste. Nor is there any doubt about the source(s). Yes, it might be from Racial Maddog's blog or some other lefty outlet, but there's no doubt that you are grossly biased. You haven't entertained a contrary thought in years. As with most liberals, "open minded" to you means drinking deeply of the far-left koolaid jug.

I, however, am socially 'liberal'(in the classic meaning) but fiscally conservative. Gay rights? Yes, why not? Abortion? Should be legal (it's going to happen regardless, so why not safe as well?). Pot? Legalize it (all over the country, not just certain states).

But I have a brain and I know that borrowing tens of trillions of dollars from our children and grandchildren is not only unworkable, it's immoral. If you count the unfunded promises, we're really talking hundreds of trillions. Do you really have any concept of how much money that is? I don't think you have the smallest notion.

What gives you the right to burden the unborn with a huge debt so you can pass around "benefits" to people you think deserve them? That's literally taking candy from babies. It's irresponsible and shameful.

We are NOT too big to fail. We've wasted far more on social programs than anything else and have NOTHING to show for it. Unless you actually wanted black families ruined, hard drugs, tens of millions of fatherless children and crime. That's ALL we've accomplished. Provide opportunity? Yes, we should. But redistribute to make certain there's an "equal outcome" REGARDLESS of individual behavior? That ruinous and immoral. You feed sloth and irresponsibility by rewarding it, and discourage responsible behavior by penalizing it.[That does NOT mean ending the security net for those who are TRULY disabled, infirm or old!]

This disease will spread. White people are NOT above sitting on their asses and letting someone else care for them, just like anyone else. It's racist to assume otherwise. As the countries of Eastern Europe showed, socialism will result in virtually everyone giving up, sitting back and letting the government flounder. That's the natural HUMAN reaction to a Nanny State. That is happening here and will only increase under Obama. You are foolish to believe otherwise.

Like Obama showed in the first debate, liberals have no clue where our wealth comes from or how it's produced. They think it's an endless fountain and the only problem is re-directing it to target recipients. That child-like thinking. Capitalism produces the excess wealth you leeches are grabbing. Find out how it works and quit pretending it some sort of miracle that we all should just "share". That's just ignorant thinking.
Wake up, think outside your little liberal box and get a brain. And quit posting your cut & paste drivel!

I had to cut some of your propaganda to fit my response. Your lies are still available to the gullible in your original post.

PS - Nobody denies that both parties buy votes with social spending. But the Dems have been the worst offender by a factor of 5X or more. They've now gone totally insane and taken it to levels that will ruin us completely. We are NOT too big to fail!

Another example of liberals rewarding sloth and irresponsible behavior, while simultaneously punishing saving, thrift and thinking ahead. If you saved in your IRA or 401k, it'll be "nationalized" to cover those who partied, wasted and did not save one damn dime.

If this happens, it's open warfare on those who've followed the rules, saved for their future and been prudent. It's naked vote buying and outright theft. All that's lacking is a dark alley, a handgun and a government official in a mask robbing Joe Citizen of his wallet. Just what you'd expect from Obama.

Lots of rhetoric here, troll. But, how did you ever come to the conclusion that I want to stick our children and grandchildren with debt? Is this just something you thought you should say to make yourself look good and me like the bad guy? Seems to be exactly that.

Your reply is less informative and less interesting by far than the cut and paste that so annoys you. The Dems, the Pubs - six of one, half dozen of another. It all depends on the ethics of the man or woman in office. Who are you to judge how liberals think? Since you aren't liberal, I venture to say you don't know what "they" think, nor do you read minds well. Just a fact.

Who said we're too big to fail? Another fantasy of yours with the intent to put words in other poster's mouths. Garbage. I "feed sloth and irresponsibility by rewarding it"? WTF are you talking about. This is nothing other than defamatory boolsheet and without any merit whatsoever. I hope you got that temper tantrum out of your system. I, for one, think it was totally ineffective and dumb as h*ll. Swing, batter, batter, batter. Swing!

The same way all of those other countries pay for theirs. Here's how Canada does it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_C...

Why Does the U.S. Spend More on Health Care than Other Countries?

Everyone knows that the U.S. spends far more on health care than other countries, but do you know how much more? In 2009, the U.S. spent 17.4% of GDP on health care (using OECD data). The closest contenders are Netherlands (12% of GDP), France (11.8%), Germany (11.6%), Denmark (11.5%), and Canada (11.4%). The U.S. has higher per capita GDP than these countries, so the gap in absolute spending is even higher. In 2009, the U.S. spent $7,960 per person on health care, and the closest contenders were Switzerland ($5,144 per person) and Netherlands ($4,914).

(cont.)

We have a "for profit" health care system. We shouldn't.

Unlike Republicans who FEAR checking out liberal links, I not only read the article, I critiqued it.
It was full of opinion, presented as facts, but without ANY proof at all.
It's an old article, designed to panic idiot conservatives into donating, and I guess they figured if it made money once, it will again.
It seems that if any of the author's predictions had come true, he would've included that, but there was nothing said.
Bottom line:
It's the same old conservative garbage = People are trying to profit by lying to dumb people, getting them angry at liberals to keep stepping up the Republican Civil War, panicking them about what 'will' happen because liberals are out to destroy them, etc.
The point of the article will escape every conservative: The rich traitors are still working to destroy the middle class (and the USA), with the help of the conservative middle class traitors.

What do you think Italians, Germans, Irish, Hispanics, Africans, Asians, etc. brought to this country?
Being a "multi-party system" as you call it is NOT what makes America what it is--that's simply part of the political system and government.
As always, you don't know what you're saying and apparently don't think before posting. You contradicted your own nonsense.
The "melting pot" means a blending of many different cultures.
I don't see this country being destroyed at all based on different ideologies. That's a fundamental part of what America is all about--the right to different opinions, beliefs while still being UNITED as a country with common goals for the common good.
