That's because President Obama knows this:

There are now two polls showing that the GOP will get the blame if fiscal cliff negotiations between the freshly re-elected President Obama and House Republicans end in an across-the-board tax increase for all households.

The President has proposed an extension of only middle class tax cuts. Republicans, led by Speaker John Boehner, have thus far refused to accept the proposal without inclusion of tax cuts for the richest 2% of Americans and deep spending cuts to safety net programs like Social Security and Medicare.

The Washington Post/Pew Research poll in question shows Americans blaming Republicans more than Obama by a margin of 53%- 27%. Only 12% indicated that both parties should share equal fault.

This echoes the results of an earlier CNN/ORC poll which showed taxpayers blaming Republicans over Obama 45%-34%.

The new WaPo/Pew poll shows public opinion moving even more firmly in the Democrats’ favor after the release of relatively detailed proposals by both sides.

If I were a Republican, I would be very concerned about what the polls show...they ignored the last set and it didn't turn out too well for them.

Amazing that the republicans expect people to understand, why on earth the top 2% can't pay a bit more in taxes, especially when the proposed rates are way, way lower than what the rates were, say in the good old 1950-1960's....?

I meant to indicate that you are a hypocrite. You dislike other posters and can't take criticism, so you falsely claim they're "exploding with hate" or some other absurd, histrionic charge. You aren't interested in how someone "feels," but in making a sleazy, underhanded accusation in the form of a question. The classic form is "Have you stopped beating your wife?"
I know how people manipulate the English language, in part because of posters like yourself. You don't do it well, but you certainly do it. You sound like one of those Pharisees that Jesus was always condemning, in fact...:)
Wrong again. Don't you hate it when are wrong so often? Gee, these sweet, sweet people using all the nasty names and defiling words they can are just showing how they feel. To me all it shows is their intense hate and bigotry. Most of the liberal posters here are doing attacks of anything they disagree with especially if it is conservative. It seems that you hate that I "call'um as I see'um" which comes from a basis of truth.

If you’re a member of the mainstream media, you’re “surprised” by this in the same way that every bad jobs report is “unexpected.”
Among the regulations being rushed out the door by the Department of Health and Human Services 32 months after Obamacare passed is a requirement that every plan in America be subject to a $63 fee. That $63 is part of a fund to subsidize people with pre-existing conditions, who are more expensive to cover but whose costs must be transferred to healthier individuals in the new system.
Reporting suggests the costs could hit 190 million health care plans held by individuals or provided by employers. The AP:
I was asking for a URl link so I can click on it and not have to search for it. Liberals are notorious for making statements and when you search out their statements they are patently false. That is why I always provide the link and the verbiage from the articles that I am commenting. Providing the link by right clicking on it and copying it makes it easier for other posters to read the article. I post the verbiage because I find many of the liberal posters are lazy and they don't click on the easy link. Thus, the proof of what I am talking about is on Topix for all to read. It takes the wind out of the liberals sails that most of their propaganda is just that- propaganda. Plus when others post their links you can find out easily if it is from a liberal source like ACLU or Alternet or Indymedia or SPLC or HufPo, etc.

Aren't the Bush era tax cuts supposed be good for all as that would be fair? But let us say that the Tax cuts are not extended to the rich, then when is Obama going to do entitlement reform? Never?

The GOP may well get the blame, especially with the MSM and Media Matters running interference for Obama. The blame may come down on the GOP's heads, however the reality is, it is Obama's insane spending and lies that are creating the cliff. Obama could have stopped it 6 months ago, but today uses the same ploys of demanding what he knows can't ever happen.

Liberals are funny, in the Union, you can't have a choice, but as a women they demand it. It's all about controlling and buying votes and how much money you can launder.

Yet as inaccurate as some from the MSM might be – any from known right wing outlets - that you regularly quote as gospel - have been proven time and again to be by far the most distorted and intentionally misleading.

Yes they were for this last election. If only 4 million hadn't stayed home, they would have been right. Wrong candidate again was picked for us.
