Atheist Islamophobia... Again

Apr 9, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Religion Dispatched

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

evangelical atheist often one who not only believes there is no god or other supreme being, but is obsessed with convincing everyone around them to become an atheist too, usually through hard-line intolerance (the kind they accuse other religions of). When cornered they usually try to put down their opponent's religion and bash them for 'blind faith', not realizing that their belief that there is no god is no more or less valid or provable than the other guy's belief that there is one.

Lincoln lacks the requisite mental skills to.... learn.

It's sad, but quite evident.

It makes him out to be a kind of sub-human who (we hope) no longer makes messes in the house, but cannot cope with real-world issues.

You literally think you can CHANGE REALITY ITSELF, by your own will, just by uttering SPECIAL WORDS.
You're inventing your own definitions again, bob.

Nope.

Definition of a magic spell: a ritual string of words said in a ritualistic way, in hopes of changing reality to match your wishes.

Definition of a prayer: a ritual string of words said in a ritualistic way, in hopes of changing reality to match your wishes.

Is there a functional difference between the two?

No.

So you admit you are one of those brain-dead Genuine Christians™, then?

This does not come as any surprise to anyone here; your hate, your constant demonstration you are unable to learn, your continuing to cling to Stone-Age hate-cult-beliefs?

That is what gave away the fact you are just another insane Genuine Christian™

Well gee, bob, you admit you're one of those brain-dead athiests, so what's new? I haven't demonstrated any hate, but you have. Funny guy. Please, rant some more paranoia, it's amusing.

Right: magic spell. You are desperate to change reality--so you utter ritualistic words at an imaginary deity, in hopes that reality will bend to your will.

Exactly as I described.

Actually? Your patronizing and hateful tone is clear enough in all that you post.

Did you realize that Faith is a mental disease?

It is: you literally believe in imaginary fairy-tales.

You allow those imaginary fairy tales to run your life-- to your own detriment.

I have no doubt you give part of your income to some worthless, leech-church of like-minded hate-cultists.

How sad.

Your bigotry is showing.

Again.

Sure, sure-- it's still brain damage.

You demonstrate that you have brain damage with each post you write.

Sad, really.

Of course-- your Lying For Jewsus website won't tell you the truth: faith is lying to yourself, so often, you forgot it was a lie.

Or?

Brain damage for short.

Sorry tobe you, bob. I got those definitions off the internet by searching "definition "word'"- it's easy bob. Not as easy as making up your own definitio to suit your rants but almost. Please continue to rant and invent definitions to suit your paranoia, I'm cool with that. It's boring here- you're hilarious!

Gee bob, ya gave up too soon. You're not...writing a whole dictionary, are you? I'll bet your definition of "athiest"is something like: "Always right, never wrong, to disagree with an athiest is to be a hater, a liar and a hypocrite". Lol.

During a more than two-hour meeting at the White House on Monday, Vice President Joe Biden asked leaders from across the faith community to keep up pressure on lawmakers to support compromise background check legislation even as Congress begins to shift its focus to immigration reform, according to several attendees who spoke to CNN.

Biden urged the roughly 20 faith leaders in attendance not to be discouraged by recent legislative failures, and instead assured them that the White House had not given up.

"Even though he suffered a defeat, he didn't sound defeated," said pastor Michael McBride of the PICO National Network. "And we need that kind of hope from the bully pulpit of the White House."

In the run-up to last month's Senate vote, religious organizations from across the denominational spectrum pressured members of Congress to vote for background check legislation.

Without mentioning the names of any lawmakers, Biden acknowledged the effectiveness of such lobbying efforts and asked those in attendance to continue to target those whose opinions can be swayed.

So what? Words reflect their usage.

And YOU?

You use "praying" AS IF it were some sort of magical spell-casting.

That is FACT, jack-- you actually think you can affect REALITY by praying-- by casting your magical ritualistic spells.

There no getting out from under that.

If you did NOT believe your prayers affected reality?

YOU WOULD NOT DO THEM.

So.

You cast spells/pray (same thing) to try to get your wishes fulfilled.

Which means?

You are batsh7t insane.
