Congressman to flood victims: 'God is telling you to move'

There are 29 comments on the The Progress story from Sep 24, 2017, titled Congressman to flood victims: 'God is telling you to move'. In it, The Progress reports that:

The chairman of the House Financial Services Committee says victims of repeat flooding should consider Harvey's devastation a sign from on high. U.S. Rep. Jep Hensarling, a Republican from Dallas, said on CNBC during a segment on flood insurance Thursday that U.S. taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for at-risk homes that have flooded over and over again.

Typical family man....

I think the real question is about the historical chance for enduring a hurricane vs. the recent years and our warnings about global warming. It is rather a shame to have to abandon several southern states rather than give up cheap energy....especially with baby makers calling the shots....

What's the real deal? Farming conglomerates want the suburbs for cheap?

I think the point he was trying to make becomes clearer when you read the linked article.

If it wasn't for subsidized government insurance paying some of these people to rebuild their homes over and over again, do you think they'd still keep homes in a flood plain?

Democrats have taught many people to be repeat thieves... encouraged to get false appraisals and hire storm chaser attorneys to harass any insurance process into doubling the payouts to those persistent few crying in their double foam lattes for sympathy. Red herrings about "global warming" keep emotions high for the gold diggers. It is much like the network media howling about 160 mile per hour wind, when ocean boys showed top winds at 94 mph. It's all in the hyperbole in getting viewers glued to the over-populated cult of weather reporters too dumb to get real work and dependent upon manipulated, false claims of hurricanes coming from global warming, when ocean temperatures were actually cooler than normal.

If there had been regulations that prevented big corporations and real estate holdings from building in flood prone areas, this same guy would have said that was an infringement on capitalism.

Now that climate change is real and he has to face that his state has been directly affected, he brings God into the conversation.

This is what the Bible was talking about when it was written to NOT take God's name in vain.

Pulling Him up into a conversation like this is a kind of vanity that the GOP is known to do a lot.

Time for humans to take responsibility for their poor judgement and make policy changes to prevent such horrible loss in the face of what we know to be more frequent disasters in the future.

I'm side stepping nothing, you dyslexic blow-hole . It was 'ill shoot your eye out' who brought Maxine Waters up. I'm here to discuss the kooky jackass Jeb Hensarling who is the subject of this article.
