It does not mean you can own a tank or a cruise missle, yet they are weapons. If you want assault weapons join the military which will then give you access to those kinds of weapons. BTW Even the military has limitation. They can not just do as they please, as they too have to answer to the President and Congress.

"The Second Amendment declares by implication that if the "MILITIA" is not "WELL REGULATED" by "PEOPLE" keeping and bearing arms, the "MILITIA" becomes a threat to the "SECURITY OF A FREE STATE."

The "MILITIA" has no "RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS" in the Second Amendment, rather it is only "THE RIGHT OF THE ""PEOPLE"" TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS (that) SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." "

Now your answer?

Do tell.

Exactly how many people were killed with hammers in 2010?

The average killed by firearms is 32,000 a year.

No disrespect, Respect71 (there are 70 more of you?), but I already answered. Get someone to help process it for you. "The people" is meant in a collective sense, as in "We the people...". The people, as in those of the several states, have a right to bear arms as part of a "well-regulated militia".
The whole second amendment was based on the then-reasonable fear of an attack by federal forces. Anyone who believes that is now the case should not only be deprived of a firearm, but should be taken to a mental health facility.

No, actually, Donglicker, they don't back up convictions to gun permits, that is why so many people (thousands) are found to convicted of a crime.

And you above everything else: a contemptible liar.

Sorry, but our Country is founded on individual sovereignty. Rights given by God NOT by government. A free people doesnít mean ALL as a collective, it meant EACH INDIVIDUAL is free. Gun ownership is in the Bill or Rights which was intended to SEPARATE the government powers from that on the individual American. If you donít think the federal government is after your rights, then you are nothing more than a fool. OBAMACARE was the beginning and now gun rights? If you willing to give up freedom for security go to europe... America is a free nation of individual citizens, it is not and never was a socialist nation.

You went to public school... Funny how I can tell.

T'aint.

Happy to see the unqualified right to anything in the "Bill of Rights".

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.ó The New Mexico teenager accused of fatally shooting his parents and three younger siblings had never been in trouble with the law, according to state officials.

The state's child welfare agency has no record of any contacts with 15-year-old Nehemiah Griego or his family, spokesman Bob Tafoya said Monday.

A records check by the Department of Children, Youth and Families also indicated the youth "had no involvement with the juvenile justice system whatsoever," Tafoya said.

Griego remained in custody Monday on two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death. He was arrested following the shootings Saturday at a home in a rural area southwest of Albuquerque where he lived with his family.

Investigators trying to piece together what led to the violence found several guns believed used in the shootings, including one described by authorities as a semi-automatic assault-type rifle. The owner of the weapons hasn't been determined.

The Obama administration is obviously a big supporter of use of the drones in Pakistan and Afghanistan. It has been widely reported that the Obama administration has probably at least doubled (getting accurate numbers on what is a Ďsecretí process is difficult) the number of unmanned drone attacks since 2008. One report states that there have been around 30 drone missile attacks killing over 200 people since last September.
much as Iíve been a supporter of this method, Iím starting to be a bit concerned that the US may be becoming too reliant on what is despite its technologically impressive nature, a BLUNT INSTRUMENT of war.

Correction "Bill of Roghts". Americans are allowed until they abuse that right and then they are prosecuted.
