Instead of the soul-searching they need to do about identity and core values, which would help them figure out why independent voters are bailing on them and why only about a fifth of Americans call themselves Republicans, they seem more interested in a re-packaging of what hasn't worked than a sea change toward what could or can. I think it's a shame, what's happened to the Republican Party, and Republicans need to take a hard look at what they've become (and become known for) before they can fix what ails them. If they're the party of low government intervention, does that apply only to financial institutions? Why not also to the womb, the bedroom and the hospital room? These were the types of questions and concerns I raised when I regretfully dropped out of the Republican Party (I was a Republican for more years than I haven't been one), and no one listened then. A few weeks ago, Olympia Snowe also wrote in her New York Times piece: "I have said, without question, we cannot prevail as a party without conservatives. But it is equally certain we cannot prevail in the future without moderates." Anybody listening now? An interesting article :-)

Sorry to hear you left the Republican Party. Over the past 10 years we have been purging ourselves of the, what I call turn coat Democrats. Those are Democrats who CANNOT win an election as a Democrat so they run as a Republican only once elected they continue to support the PARTY and to vote along PARTY lines. The Democratic Party lines that is. Over the years these individuals have given the Republican Party a very BIG black eye. They have been caught accepting bribers, acts of homosexuality in public places and several other forms of corruption. It has gotten so bad that in this last election the only difference between the presidential candidates was their party affiliations. Bush was elected on a platform of reduced taxes and reducing the size of the government. Just after taking office Bush lead the charge to ever higher taxation and increasing the size of the government. Bush finally demonstrated his true colors during the final few months of his administration with the massive bailout. Every Congressional Democrat lined up behind him with their hands out expecting. Like the true Democrat Bush is, he finally stood shoulder to shoulder with the Congressional Democrats and the Democratic Party. This lines up with the Bush/Soetoro tax and spend economic policies. A Democratic economic policy ever since the Great Depression. Now we have got the opportunity to purge our Party of the Democrats and shake ourselves free of the Democratic influences that have dominated our Party's policies over the past 30 years and offer the American people a real alternative to the Democrats One World Government, NAFTA, The Community Reinvestment Act, Affirmative Action, racism in our government and politics, and above all else bring back honesty into our government. The time has come for us to get back to our roots and the reason why our Party exists. We need to revisit the Contract with America and to return to the values of the Rights of the Individual. We need to reestablish States Rights while reinforcing the ideas and beliefs in FREEDOM for all of our citizens and not a select few. We must remember that the words, "That all men are created equal" were written by a Republican. These are the things we as Republicans stand for: We believe that every person has a right to life and the right to live that life to the fullest. Than includes the unborn. We believe in reduced taxes NOT based upon a person's personal income. We believe in a fair system of flat taxes where everybody pays the exact same amount of taxes. We believe in a smaller Federal Government that is in support of the Individual States and NOT a strong Central Federal Government with the individual states enslaved to it. We believe that the Rights of the Individual supersedes the will of the majority. We believe that a person has the Right to determine how he or she is to operate their own business or company and not the Government or the Unions. We believe that every person has a Right to Work and cannot be denied gainful employment because they do not belong to a Union or because of the color of their skin or their religions practices or their gender. We have been suffering under a Single Party system for far too long. The time has come for us to regain our identity as Republicans and rebuild our party. If we don't come 2010 we will once again gain control of the Congress only nothing will change as we continue to elect more turncoats to office. Jim Hayden Well it is typical of “Guiney Hen” Republican trying to blame everything on Democrats or someone else.“Guiney Hen” Republicans are just as guilty as any politician in Washington, D.C. Either they are unethical themselves or they have knowledge of unethical activities of others and do nothing. The majority of politicians are opportunist in it for themselves. So why don’t you just quit trying to draw a line as if there is a difference. They are all in the cycle.

Jim Hayhen Where were you during the last 8-years when the majority control was in the "Guinea Hen" Republicians' hands? We would not be in the condition we're in now had there been a lot more ethical politicians in control Democrat and/or Republican. All we had was “rubber stamping” Guinea hens. The Republicans went ramped and shelve destructed. The Democrats just sat there with their mouths open with a "Da" look on their faces.

We have always been the Party of the People, for the people and by the people. It wasn't until we were infiltrated by a bunch of coward Democrats that our Party was changed to what we see today while the vast majority of Republicans still remain true to our original ideologies. It will only be after we return to our true roots that are embedded deep within the United States Constitution that we will see and feel OUR Party come alive once again. We have been betrayed by individuals like McCain, both Bushes, Reagan and Lott for so very long that we have lost our true identity. We are the Americans who freed the slaves and YES we are the Americans who brought segregation to its ultimate destruction. That in spite of the Democrats stealing it and turning what we worked so very hard to accomplish into just another form of government sponsored racism and slavery. We are Republicans and YES we have every reason to be very PROUD of our Party in spite of everything the Democrats have done to destroy us from within. They have mocked us, imprisoned some of us and yes they have infiltrated our ranks in order to bring about our final end and yet we are still here and we are still strong and growing in strength every day. Here we stand UNITED yelling that we will be heard and we WILL NOT go quietly into the night. Come 2010 we will offer Americans real change they can believe in and not just a lot more of the same o Same o Democratic policies we got out of the last 2 so called Republican Presidents. We are here to offer Americans a choice between FREEDOM and slavery to a cruel and relentless tyrant called the One World Order, NAFTA and the tax and spend Democratic agenda that seeks only to hopelessly enslave ALL of us. This past election is a perfect example of what I am talking about the only candidate who was qualified to run was Sarah Palin. Both McCain and Soetoro do not meet the citizenship requirement. Biden and Clinton are both Lawyers which disqualifies them to even be Senators. No person is able top hold 2 public offices at the same time. An attorney is a servant of the Court which just happens to be a public office. Why do you think it seemed like everyone was out to get Palin? If McCain's citizenship was pushed in a Federal Court and he was disqualified after the election Palin would be our President right now. If Barry is disqualified by the Courts who is there within the Democratic party who is able to replace him? PROUD member of President Soetoro's Domestic Terrorist List.

Your statement can be interpreted several way. <quoted text> I agree, if it is honest, fair, responsible and an ethical business. Without proper funding from the populace the government is unable to function properly. Over taxation breeds corruption and contempt from the people for the political leaders who have been empowered to serve us. It is for this reason why I have been pushing for a single flat tax based solely upon the government's needs and not upon a person's ability to pay and pay and pay and keep on paying. Any form of taxation based upon the income of the individual Taxpayer is unconstitutional. Not because I say it is but because the Constitution says they are. This next one is a little more difficult to discuss. The Constitution guarantees us a Federal Government that is to be in support of the many different states. That is to say its priority it to our national defense then to the needs of the individual states. For instance why do we need 15 different Federal law enforcement agencies when the Constitutions clearly states that it is the responsibility of the individual states to enforce our laws Federal, State and Local. Therefore we only need the FBI which has a mission of support to the State and local law enforcement. A president should never ever have control over our law enforcement. Waco and Ruby Ridge are prime examples of what can happen when one person has too much individual power within our government. Unwarranted attacks upon American citizens by our government must never be tolerated and MUST NEVER happen again. Our government MUST NEVER be allowed to get so big that it CANNOT be controlled. We ALL have a responsibility to ourselves and to our fellow Americans to cast our individual vote according to the dictates of the Constitution. The Constitution says that first of all a person must at least 25 years old to hold a seat in the House of Representatives, 30 is the required age to hold a seat in the Senate and 35 is the minimum age for a person to be the president. Then having met that requirement a person "when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen." An inhabitant not a resident there is a very BIG difference. Residence can be established with 30 days while an inhabitant has resided within a state for greater than 7 years. Only the President is required to be a natural born citizen. "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States." Article II Section I US Constitution. Now it is imperative that we the people adhere strictly to the limitations set down in the Constitution. When we the People fail to live up to our individual responsibilities we open ourselves up and we create a corrupt and uncontrollable government. When that happens we have no one else to blame but ourselves. PROUD member of President Soetoro's Domestic Terrorist List.

Because Palin proved she was an idiot! McCain is and was qualified you should know that due to his parents being military serving abroad. Barry? You mean Barack? Well he is qualified and has sent in the documentation to the FEC and courts. Just because the birther's still don't accept it means nothing. The courts have ruled get over it.
