Don't forget that Bush let bin Laden's terrorists destroy the Trade Center, that he did nothing to stop them, and that he spent 8 years screwing around and failing to nail bin Laden. While Obama pushed the search forward, then authorized bin Laden's immediate termination.

WHY THE FREAK even rebuild on the Two Towers site?? Yes, a Memorial structure would be fitting, so citizens could pay their respects...BUT A FREAKIN' skyscraper built to "replace" the Towers that fell..Unbelievable lack of sympathy to all WHO lost their lives on that horrific day...

I agree, and more importantly, the WTC was a "white elephant" filled with subsidized clients and government offices.

It is a pretty building, and probably has as fine a view as the old ones, nbut I agree, WHY?

I think the idea of rebuilding in grand style was meant to show that we would not be defeated or reduced to putting up lesser buildings by the actions of terrorists. Consider the new tower a sort of middle finger directed at the Middle East...:)
