No, I'm utilizing your assertion that only things in existence when the constitution and bill of rights were written are protected by it.
Are you saying the right to keep and bear arms isn't as important as freedom of the press, or the freedom of speech?

If I may, they all hold equal importance, but with that said each has controls to protect us from abuse. Freedom of Speech, can't holler fire in a theatre. Freedom of Press, can't legally write or print any statement tending to injure a person's reputation unjustly.

My opinion the selling, manufacturing and importation of assult type weapons should be controled.

Well, you can add up all the school shootings in the last ten years, and it won't amount to the bodies hauled into the Chicago morgue in three months.

You see, no call for action in those places where gun restrictions are the highest. Instead, we concentrate on taking guns away from all people so that the least likely place to get shot (schools) can be safer, although such legislation won't change a thing.

I disagree to a point, the weapon mass gun nuts school shooters choose is an assult type weapon with extended magazines { military typr weapons designed to kill as many as possible in the shortest time, wiapons that are not for huinting or target practice but to hunt children} with less of these weapons on the street the better the chance it will save lives.

Statistics show that more people die from blunt instruments such as a bat or crowbar, feet and hands, than do those who were murdered with so-called assault weapons. So i have to ask: Why focus on assault weapons if they are not the major cause of gun deaths?

After all, the weapons used in the Sandy Hook shootings were all legal weapons. They were purchased by the shooters mother in a state that has bans on so-called assault weapons.

Now if you can tell me one legislative act proposed that will put a halt to school shootings, i would love to know what that is. I have not been able to find it.

And they are on the decline, despite what the media would have you believe.

Total the number shot and killed by Blacks in a recent year. I bet it is more than every school shooting in US history put together.

"Legal Weapons", and therin lies the problem these gun nut choose these weapons for their effectivness in killing as many people as quickly as possible before they are stopped or stop themselves.

I focus on these assult type weapons due to simple fact they are used for one thing, to hunt people. In most cases they are chosen to kill children.

Also I focus on these weapons because your examples primary uses are in other areas baseball, manual labor, etc. With your examples the killer would have been stopped before he killed 26 people and himself. They would be much harder to regulate than one weapon whos primary purpose is to kill.

The freedom of speech and the press do not contain the "shall not be infringed" that the right to keep and bear arms does.

So your assertion is that semi auto rifles with high capacity magazines are designed to hunt children? Careful there. Are you familiar with Defamation Suits?

You could take your own advice about the hole. Consider the highest gun crime associated with the strictest gun control, the hole.

So I guess your point being any weapon designed for killing should have no controls.{Rocket launchers, grenade launchers, fully automatic weapons, shoulder fired missles, etc.}

You need to substitute gun free zone for weapon, and you will make more sense.

Prove that semi automatic firearms with high capacity magazines are for only one thing. Prove that the one thing is killing.

Prove he couldn't have killed 26 people at Sandy Hook with a Blount object. I assert it would have been quieter, therefore not alerting teachers and or the principal. He may have killed more than 26 with a Blount object.

All firearms have the primary purpose of firing a projectile. The weapon can not fire on its own. The shooter determines what that projectile is fired toward.

You keep citing these areas with strictest gun control areas are also highest gun crime areas, but they are not using assult type weapons in these crimes.

Yes, very familar with Defamation Suits and I would welcome that attention when considering the weapons are the weapons of choice in which gun nuts are most likely to choose to attack children in mass shootings.

No, these weapons would not be banned from official use, first reponmders and military and in which I might say were designed for.

I have always owned guns and hopefully always will, but if it was possible {and I believe it would| to save just one innocent childs life I would forfeit that right.

I have asked this question numerous times, if I knew that the banning of assult type weapons would save my child and 25 of her classmates would I align with the ban? Yes.

Would you?

Seriously? What page of liberal talking points for dummies is that on? Do you know how many times that tired question has been asked on here?
Why don't you look to US vs. Miller for that?

Thanks for making that point! Do you have proof that they are not using "assault weapons" in those crimes? I'm sure Chicago gangs never use them. Detroit gangs either. I know New Orleans gangs don't use them... Lmao!

Yes but that's not what you said in that instance. Do I need to repost what you stated?

A blunt object would not have been as deadly or quick as firing four to six rounds into each child. All the children were with teachers, those teacher could have either slowed, stopped or screamed for assistance.

Would you rather be attacked with a blunt instrument or miliary type weapon with a thirty round magazine? I've been attacked with a knife and with a high powewred rifle, and let me assure you I will choose the knife every time.
