Look at what lack of legal guns has done to Mexico.....
Meanwhile everyone else in the world knows what happened to Mexico was the drug kingpins supplying the illegal drug market in the USA.

And more guns hasn't helped at all since the majority of the people killed with guns- and this is the tricky part- are killed by guns.

Clearly gun use in the US is out of control and unless we do something about it the international community should intervene. Almost 300,000 Americans lost their lives by firearms in the last 50 years, that’s more than in all wars involving the US – it is a staggering and alarming fact. Contrast that with the other America where people are trying to make life safer. Second hand smoke comes to mind or road safety, there has been a huge effort in the past 50 years to enforce speed limits, crack down on drink/drug driving and building safety features into highways, as well as vehicles. The result is a steadily improving record; by 2015, forecasters predict that for first time road deaths will be fewer than those caused by firearms. Plainly, there's no equivalent effort in the area of privately owned firearms. Indeed, most politicians do everything they can to make the country less safe by kowtowing to the NRA and its misguided and deadly propaganda.

How so...? Violent crime with a firearm is going down...murders by firearms has been going down...accidents by firearms going down...

"...and unless we do something about it the international community should intervene."

And just how do you think that would work...? What do you think the international community could do...? How would they "intervene"...?

That would get very messy very fast.

Why is it you don't think gun owners want to make the streets safer...? Legislation was put forth to improve the background check system, increase the available records for the NICS system, make laws easier for States to comply with including mental health records...all of these proposals were shot down because those in power wanted more restrictions on guns and gun owners. THEY weren't interested in fixing the problem with the system...THEY, like you, see the problem as an inanimate object.

Yes and they will be happy to sell guns to anyone that wants to buy them..........
So no law banning guns will work any better than drug laws........

The vast majority that are killed by a man using a gun are living that lifestyle you call normal........

People like you see nothing wrong with hitting a off duty security guard because he asked a suspect he did not recognize where he was going..........

That type of behavior will get you shot

Background checks were fought tooth and nail by the NRA.

When it became clear that background checks were going to be required, it fought to restrict how they would be used and to remove the waiting period for guns.

It has absolutely zero to do with making the streets safer or all gun owners would fight to make sure felons would not get the hands on guns through loopholes- such as the gun show loop hole.

Putting aside the MAJORITY of gun owners support background checks.

It seems a tiny minority insist on special rights- to sell firearms to complete, total strangers without doing background checks.

The waiting period for crack cocaine is forever and that does not stop a criminal from buying it now does it

So how will a waiting period stop a criminal from buying a gun??

He just has to find you of you black thugs and buy any gun he wants
