According to the latest estimates, President Obama’s health care law, also known as “Obamacare,” will cost around $2.6 trillion over the next 10 years, nearly $1.7 trillion more than Obama’s initial promise of $900 billion.

I never agreed with the war in Iraq,National healthcare or any other expense that adds to our national debt. romney's 2 trillion dollar not needed navy would have contributed to more or atleast the same budget buster. There has not been a president since Clinton that had true respect for the dangers of our rising debt. I'm sure romneys big navy build-up would cost the same or more than 2.6 trillion. You see when independents look at debt it really means something much more than either party is going to do. When bush was running 400 billion dollar deficits, not a peep from republicans, meaning it's ok for them but not for democrats. The reality is that it is evil for both.

Obama is really messing everything up big time. I know healthcare people who really aren't political and they say this government health care deal is a disaster.
The economy has been bad for years for us who are trying to start out, I thought Obama would do a better job but he sucks even more than the rest.

The health care law could've been a good thing. I agree reform was needed, Obama should have proposed the idea then everyone should have got to work ironing out the details and giving Americans the best possible package with the best ideas from all sides. This thing should have been debated for years if necessary.
Instead we got urgency to get this thing passed, doesn't matter whats in it just get it passed.
Now we are going to pay heavily for a lack of patience and compromise of the Obama administration.
Its a shame too, this could've been something good.

The wealthy and the military(present and retired) have healthcare. What's wrong with middle class working folks who pay most of our taxes having it?

I work in healthcare and I agree 100%. Obama took a problem and has made it into a much bigger one.
This Obamacare is a fiasco.

Well we could have had romney which would mean no healthcare for anyone and a 2 trillion dollar navy we don't need. The American people have decided what they would rather have.

We were ALL told by Obama, his Administration, Reid and the Democratic Party that Obamacare would save the American People money. I say that any additional money to fund Obamacare should be limited to that years Annual savings in Federal Healthcare Cost. So if no savings no money.
they didn't read obamacare and Pelosi said we had to use it to know what was in it?what words of wisdom the old bitch has?they lied about the costs!they rammed it down the peoples throats but its not good enough for them to use!since tax money pays for their health benefits why don't the white house big wigs have to use what they are forcing upon us?what about the exceptions Obama made to his big time donors?doesent anyone see how two faced this is?why are they better than us when we pay their salaries?they should be made to use whatever they deem is good enough for the rest of us!

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Even some of Obamacare's most ardent supporters are realizing that this law is flawed, not for what it wanted to accomplish, because it wasn't explained or debated. It was simple produced, told to stay under 1 trillion in cost and rammed through our legislative branches in just a few weeks.
Well it staying under 1 trillion was a pipe dream and now that the law is going into effect people are realizing just how messed up this is.
I have said that this should have been debated and tweaked for months if not years but it wasn't, we could have gotten a law that took the best ideas from all sides but now we have an expensive fiasco that many elite groups are exempt from.

I saw on the news where Democratic senator Max Baucus
is retiring cause hes fed up with the healthcare law becoming a train wreck and he helped write the thing.
He said that both sides know this is going to be a disaster.

Well money spent here in America for Americans health and jobs or money to defence companies that go to offshore bank accounts and help few, make alot of enemies, and way overpriced intentionately, I would prefer paying down the debt. But sense republicans and democrats are intent on out doing each other lets spread the wealth here on average Americans. When national bankruptcy comes, and it will, then a new generation can try something better, after all their student loans(over a trillion dollars) will go up in smoke when America goes belly up!

Another Jim
Pickens topix ? Jim how about an article explainning to us all the reason Dick(devil) cheney went into the CIA office 4 and 5 times a week before the invasion of Iraq? This destructive murderer and thief was obviously trying to stir up the American people and media with lies about Saddam and so-called weapons of mass destruction. You seem content to stay politically dependent on the republican party and would do all a favor and broaden your mental horizons. I was exactly where you were 30 years ago and believe me you will be much less frustrated by being much more independent. If God came back today He would not be a supporter of any political party!

I will be happy to if you provide a credible link to such an article.
But this Topix is about ObamaCare and the soaring costs of implementing it.
By the way, I have been a registered Democrat for most of my life just as my daddy was. I voiced my dissatisfaction with the things George Bush did when he was President, I just wasn't on Topix at that time. I voted for Clinton but also Reagan so maybe I'm an independent like you.
To me, Barack Obama is not a true democrat, he is a progressive and I think modern progressives are just as dangerous to America as Communism or Socialism. Many Democrats are starting to figure that out too.
I was born when FDR was President and can, without a doubt, say that Barack Obama is the worst President this nation has had to endure. His obvious lack of just basic leadership qualities and immaturity are not arguable.
Again, if you want to talk about our war with Iraq then start your own topic or email me a link to an article you want to discuss and I will post it.

It is crazy what people will accept from someone who has the same politics.
If the health care law was a business deal with no politics involved, NO ONE would like it, it doesn't make good sense.

Good point. I guess all the talk of the Obamacare trainwreck has taken a backseat to all the Obama scandals being exposed now.
