Today's ruling does more because unless and until Congress acts all of the states previously identified during the 1960s no longer have to submit changes in voting rules to the DOJ, Eric Holder for approval. That's big time considering his views on things like voter ID.

Right like Congress gets anything done. These rulings seemingly effect only republican states and districts. Putting voter rights in the hands of a republican controlled house seems very prudent (sarcasm), especially when all sections of government are corrupted and in the business of retaining the power they have. What a dumb idea to have any elected body update voting rights that will no doubt affect their next election.

Enough is enough with the abuse of power and lying to the American people by the Obama-Holder regime and holding to power by all possible means including using illegal invaders from all over the world to vote for Obama in returned for free gifts that are paid by stolen money from the American conservative taxpayers. It is not civil right whatsoever for the illegal invaders to rule the American people while representing foreign interests of the Mozlem Brotherhood and communistic regimes. Enough is enough with the rule of the America hating liberals under the corrupt Obama and Holder who trash the constitution on a daily basis and selling America to the foreign invaders that want to convert America to welfare country. The Supreme Court led by Justice Roberts decision to kill the Obama regime abuse of the election laws in each state is big victory to the American people over the abusive rule of the corrupt Holder and Obama. Obama and Holder failed to push the control on the voting rules in each and every state that was used by Obama regime to push illegal foreign invaders to vote for the Democratic Party in return for food stamps, Obama phone and free Obama care. With the new ruling by the Supreme Court led by Justice Roberts, the election laws will be controlled by the states and they can demand the use of ID and proof of citizenship to all voters. It makes harder for the Obama regime to use the votes of foreigners that do not have voting rights as means to win elections in the most criminal way.

Two pools here:

First, Which Republican state will be the first to start limiting African Americans from voting?(I have Mississippi)

Second, When will the Republicans start this effort?(I have Jan. 2014)

Simple-

If the state is controlled by the GOPasuars, then additional scrutiny of their voting laws is necessary.

Guaranteed the confederate states will take this as justification to start turning blacks away from the polls again.

We could end all of the voting garbage by having a real reform with voter ID a must in all states. And don't tell me that will discriminate because we all well know that when needed for handouts like welfare, etc. people come up with the proof. And we need more reform so we can all get better representation by real people and not just the rich that buy their office and votes.

How cute, you think your vote actually matters!

News flash, vote ID or not, unless you're rich your vote doesn't count.

The laws targeting Southern states are now out of date. There is no more discrimination with voting rights or other civil rights. Those that think so are the same people that want illegal aliens to vote, mass killers to live comfortably the rest of their lives at tax payers expense, the same for welfare recipients,etc.,etc.

clearly we need "additional scrutiny" to obama's progressive/liberal democrat party that has its fingers (and nose) in every aspect of american life. see IRS. clearly the big nanny state is a failure...

I mean the GOPasaurs will use whatever mechanism they think will keep the most non-whites from voting, whether that's requiring photo ids or getting rid of early voting on Sundays etc.

Or they're just drop the fašade and pass a law banning blacks & Hispanics from voting. I'm sure there are enough racist judges in the confederacy which would uphold such a law, and Scalia & Company (even Uncle Thomas) on the SCOTUS would likely go along with it.

Can't always view voting procedures/rules as voter suppression. You need someway to keep inelidgable and fraudulent voters from voting.

If there is provable abuse of the rules then bring those election officials and/or politicians up on charges.

There is no confederacy and you're nuts.

As long as a person is a citizen...they can vote. It's the law and no one is changing that fact. You're bigoted accusations are hilarious.

It was democrat voters in last few elctions got red handed voting more than once....registering more than once (obama AND hillary didn't qualify to be on the Indiana ballot in 2008..they did so illegally and that's why four of their staffers are in jail and thrown under the bus.

No evidence of that in GOP areas. Sorry, puddin'

All of the blacks in the south who drive (over 18 voting age) HAVE voter id, sheeple. It's called a drivers license. So do the hispanics..

You're really a closet bigot.

The sole intent of the legislation is to suppress voter turnout of those people most likely to vote for the Dems.

We all know if everyone without a voted ID or those who voted early on Sunday all voted for the GOP, they'd NEVER even consider passing such laws.

Again, the sole intent of the GOPasaur legislation is to suppress voter turnout of likely Dem voters.

Only an extremely na´ve moron would believe otherwise.

The confederacy is alive and well; just venture below the Manson-Nixon line and see for yourself.

It's only a matter of time before Alabama or Mississippi pass a law banning blacks from voting, and Scalia & Uncle Thomas will back them up.

What about all those who don't drive?

Millions of people don't have a state issued photo ID, but since they're mostly black, Hispanic, poor, or students who are likely Democratic voters, the GOPasaur don't want them voting.

Wrong again....the sole intent is to keep people from voting more than once......which YOU have bragged about...reagardless of color.

That's why you don't like it!! LMAO
