Obama, the very candidate who created the flag pin wearing controversy and said he does not wear a flag pin because he lets his ideas show his patriotism is guess what? Obama now is wearing a flag pin on his lapel while campaigning in West Virginia. So now Obama has had a change of heart and wears the flag pin when he feels the need to pander to voters. So what is Obama’s real position on patriotism? Its is still being determined whether Obama was sporting his special 57 state flag pin. This must be a new “change” in Obama’s 57 State campaign plan.

Barack Obama, who labeled discussion of whether he wears a flag pin in his lapel a false issue in a debate with Hillary Clinton, was wearing one Monday as he campaigned in West Virginia ahead of Tuesday’s primary vote there.

Obama made no reference to the pin, which could be clearly seen in television images and through telephoto lenses as he spoke in Charleston, W. Va., about veterans issue. There was no public comment from his campaign.

Obama has once again shown that he is nothing more than a typical candidate as there is now a reported flag pin sighting in West Virginia.

No to Hussein Obama...

Is that why the Dixiecrats deserted the Republican Party after the Democrats pushed through the civil rights act? They all went to the GOP, ushering the disgraceful, anti American era of the race baiting Southern Strategy as a distraction from the real issues in campaign after campaign. That strategy eventually grew to encompass the "Religious" Right issues, and now the country is falling apart.

Are most of us still unable to look toward a better and stronger country that provides space for a well-educated middle-class and a safety net for all, a government that does not spy on us, and does not torture; Will we vote our interests, or will we vote our prejudices?
It is important for us to see the answer to this question, now. Then we can move on knowing full well whether we have grown, or are still, as a voting nation, mired in the mantle of white supremacy.
The nomination and election of a Barack Obama may be our last chance to stem the national fire sale of jobs and rights and integrity that has been conducted behind our backs by every White House occupant since Ronald Reagan's election.
A general election of Barack Obama versus John McCain is in many ways a stark contest of experience versus change -- and change is currently winning, according to the new ABC/Washington Post poll:
Obama 51%
McCain 44%
Sample size: 1,122 adults.
Margin of error:±3%
For poll questions on different character traits, McCain leads on who has better experience (71%-18%) and who has better knowledge of world affairs (65%-24%). But Obama has big majorities on which candidate would bring needed change to Washington (59%-29%), better personality and temperament (56%-32%), better understands people's problems (54%-35%), and has a clearer vision for the future (54%-34%).
The Obama camp announced the endorsements of Rep. Tom Allen of Maine, the party's candidate for U.S. Senate, Sen. Daniel Akaka of Hawaii, DNC member Dolly Strazar of Hawaii, and Idaho state party chair Keith Roark.
According to the Obama camp's numbers, he is now exactly 150 delegates away from clinching the nomination.
<quoted text>
I think historically you will find that the racist democrats hide behind the principled Republican view of State's rights for a very brief period, then responded to the corruption and manipulation during the Nixon Administration, but then scurried, like the rats they are, back accross the aisle to vote for Jimmy. Reagan actually won Republicans and Democrats of all stripes, and clearly did not need a "southern strategy against losers who could take only Mass..Reagan's administration was strictly race neutral, which of course infuriated the "discrimination elite" that promotes co-dependency among black voters as part of the Democrat social policy. But you will never find one incident of "race baiting" by Reagan. And I believe it was Team Clinton, and the masters of triangulation who devised the southern strategy.
I agree that Obama and McCain will make a great contest. They both are honest, sincere Americans. But watch your back my friend, the Clinton southern strategy is still in operation, they smell blood after tonight, and they are about to knee cap a fine guy, the minute they find anything to use against him. If he gets the nomination, and is candid with the American people about what they need to do on the road ahead, not just list what the government should do for them, he could actual get my vote. You real enemy is not in the Republican party yet, as the song say, da Bi... is back.

Yeah, he should be just like the SUV drivers that "sacrificed" to put that Chinese made yellow ribbon on their SUV while sending more than the average portion of money to terrorists. BTW, I support my officer who just returned from Iraq,

Okay king of background research. How many bills as Obama passed during his stay in the US Senate? How many times as he voted 'present'?

If he did, in his day job, one-tenth of what he talks about doing in his books, he'd be a shoe-in for King of the World. Unfortunately, since his books are fiction, he is not even the clear choice of his own party.

Sadly, Kentucky is only second to WV in the per capita population of Klansmen. I am afraid to be active for Obama in my area because they might burn my house down.
The only solution is to educate the population coming up and engage the states more fully in national prosperity when it comes back to the US. The people in these remote mountain areas and isolated farm communities have been thoroughly indoctrinated to believe that they are poor because all the money goes to black people. This is the result of generations of information control. They only get the "information" that the right wing echo chamber puts out.
Sad, isn't it?
Indiana actually has a similar situation, but the urban areas saved the day there and made it close. If you looked at the map of your neighbors to the north, she carried virtually all the rural counties, both for the reasons you describe, and becasue they are the waiting rooms for the elder whites too poor to come down and to the waiting room in Florida and buy a condo. The old white and jewish folks are Team Clinton's equally prejudiced shock troops down here.

But I have to disagree with you, it is not just the "right wing" echo chamber, it is the stunted culture and bitter (he was right)failure of people from towns bypassed by interstate highways and school consolidations, and now by foreign competition and the internet. Hell, they hate everybody: blacks, wealthy whites, Hispanics, eduated folks of all races and foreigners of all types. And what is so dispicable is that Hill and Bill lean right into that, like a hand to a glove. No, it is not fair to blame Rush,et al, alone, Team Clinton and their allies have as much to do with the continued embedded racism in these States. It is not some vast right wing conspiracy to keep the black man down, hell we want you to prosper, pay taxes, and help us support these crazy old white folks and unemployed (and unemployable) hillbillies!

Hillary was raised in a middle-class family in the middle of a state in the middle of America. From that classic childhood in the Park Ridge, Illinois mobile home park, Hillary went on to become one of America's foremost advocates for children, families, and abortion; an attorney twice voted one of the most the most unethical in America; a First Lady of Arkansas who helped transform the schools into what they are today; a bestselling "ghosted" author; a First Lady for America who helped transform that role into dishonor, becoming a chump for health care and families at home and a champion of women's rights to abortion.

Since her wind-breaking election to the United States Senate, Hillary has been a steadfast advocate for middle-class families, working tiredly to help create jobs, expand children's health care and abortion, and prevent Social Security from realization.

As the only Senator representing New York after 9/11, Hillary has fought to soften our approach to homeland security and to inhibit our communications and intelligence operations. As the first New Yorker ever named to the Senate Armed Services Committee, as well as a bona fide war hero, Hillary, though she voted for the war, and expressing a desire to wage nuclear war on Iran, has been a tough critic of the administration's bungling of Iraq and a fierce advocate for proper equipment, health benefits, and treatment for military families.

Hillary is strongly committed to making sure that every American has the right to vote in fair, accessible, and credible elections. She introduced the Count Every Vote Act of 2005 to ensure better protection of votes and to ensure that every vote is counted. The only time she stepped away from this philosophy was in 2007 during the Democrat party primary, when she agreed that the votes of Florida and Michigan would not count.

She has since, through the rigors of deep soul-searching, decided to change her stance in this issue, and has gone back to her Count Every Vote ethic, proving her flexibility.

This is a great post and yes it is sad. I've tried to be compassionate but after hearing all of the IGNORANCE and RACISM on these posts I honestly believe that we should rescue the open-minded, educated from WVA and then use it as 5a nuclear testing ground. Seriously, it sounds like half these people grew up next to a nuclear power plant anyway.
65% of WVA is white and never finished college! Not that that's an excuse but it does explain why they're so different from what would be regarded as the educated world. 63% thinks the gas tax holiday was a good idea! Stupidity!!
Here's a message for everyone who's offended by this post. Open your minds, realize that Obama is smarter than you and me and he will do more good for this country than any politician in the last 20 years! That's right the same politicians that have made sure that education is impossible and that you don't make the kind of wages that you should be making! Please know that he's not muslim and he's not anti-american. He's smart enough that if he truly was trying to pull a fast one on the country he'd be the most patriotic candidate out there and really fool everyone!!
Question being that 94% of balck voters voted for Obama do you consider that RACIST?
