Senators attack Obama's defense chief nominee, question judgment

There are 24 comments on the www.reuters.com story from Jan 31, 2013, titled Senators attack Obama's defense chief nominee, question judgment. In it, www.reuters.com reports that:

Republican lawmakers clashed with Chuck Hagel on Thursday at a hearing over his nomination to become the next U.S. defense secretary, attacking his judgment on war strategy and occasionally putting him on the defensive during a heated session.

Critics in Congress have sought to portray Hagel, a former Republican senator and decorated Vietnam War veteran, as soft on Iran and anti-Israel, charges Hagel strongly denied in testimony at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

The GOP senate attacks Hegel for thinking that both the VIETNAM and IRAQ Wars were no proper exercise for the US military?

Amazing, how out of toch with reality the GOP has lt itself get to.

HEY MORONS, We supported people in Vietnam who didn't care in the least for their own people, and who stole US supplies, and sold them to the N. Vienamse and the Viet Cong. We could never have won based on that.

And, where are thse atomic warheads that Saddam was working on???

Stupid tea-bags, believe their own lies.

The Hagel confirmation proceedings are not going nearly as smoothly as I had anticipated. Hagel seems uncertain, confused, and unsteady in his responses.
I understand that there are those who are out to get him politically (e.g. John McCain, who never met a war he didn't like), but Hagel does not seem to handle the hostility very well.
I don't usually question Obama's judgement, whose opinions I trust, but in this case, I think he may have dropped the ball. Nevertheless, I still think Hagel will be confirmed.

The Vietnam war was started by the same democrat that gave us the ghetto's in big cities under the gise of "great society!"

1960, social-welfare programs accounted for less than a third of all federal spending. Today, it counts for nearly two-thirds of federal spending. Welfare spending is nearly twice as much as defense, justice and everything else Washington does combined."
The demrats are still blaming others for their own catastrophies.

Chuck Hagel proved to be incompetent hater of America and one who lacks understanding of reality in the Middle East and supporting 'containment' of the Iranian nukes because that is Obama secret position explains why Obama chose Hagel as the best choice to drive American Military to become new museum of the great American superpower similar to the degrading of NASA by Obama. Hagel proved to be American military hater who told Al Jazeera interviewer that American military is the worst ‘bully’ in the world and refuse to call the Iranian terrorists of Hezbollah and Quds terrorists organization which explains why the Iranian regime hurried to approve the nomination of the Israel hater Chuck Hagel. If the American people wanted to learn the true 'secret' sympathy of Obama toward the Iranian terrorists organizations and the Iranian nukes and about Obama's 'secret' hostility to Israel they should listen to Hagel words that are Obama's words. The fact that the American and Israel hater Hagel is getting approval; of the big liberal Jewish Elite Sen. Chuck Schumer proves how low will the liberals go in their support of the Hagel who supports the Iranian nukes against Israel while lying through their teeth to the American people.

Sure, dumb-Bill, that's the only thing they have problem with Hagel over. Please take the blinders off and pay attention. C-Span covered the whole thing, and there was a crap-load more than Vietnam and Iraq where he has shown less than stellar judgment.
