They must have polled in Oregon, Denver, Vermont, and Taxachusetts. I do not believe 78% want these people to stay in my country. Send them back to Ireland and tell them to take their American kids with them.

Are you Marxists in Wisconsin all insane?
Democrats (and a few Republicans) only want more gullible dependent voters for their party.
How sad and shameful.
78% of Americans do NOT want illegals to become citizens.

Letting them stay is a slap in the face to all of us whose ancestors came here honestly and legally through Ellis Island. Either that poll is tainted, or we, the American people, have gone dangerously soft.

Maybe People are starting to realize that there's no way to catch and deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

Idealogy runs into the wall of Reality.

SInce this is posted in the Tucson news and I have lived there.... allot of those living in Tucson are Hispanic. Should a poll of one small area represent that of the total 300,000,000 pop. Most around here are fed up with the illegal aliens the cost to our failing hospitals, cost of additionl taxes for schools,e.g. now having a vote to raise sales tax 1 cent more.
They are responsible for most DUI's, no license or insurance. Crime has gone up dranstically, not necessarily saying they are all responsible but they do displace allot of workers from construction, meat plants. hese are good paying jobs too, those displace may be a part of theft.
At many construction site A/C units, copper wire by the tons are stolen each month.
Our city is installing laws that all workers must be legal or cannot work on any gov. contracts.
We will see....
I also let my state and Fed reps know my position and I know many more do the same.
Don't wait on some liberal poll...write or e-mail often!!

I'm with you! I wasn't polled and if I were they would all be on a bus going south with a one way ticket. Let them come in the front door not break in the back door like the criminals that they are.

Well, if the tide is turning as this poll seems to indicate, then I suppose we can expect another 12m on top of the current 12m to packup their burros and head North. Gov. tried this before and it didn't stop the flow, why would it work now?

I doubt that the poll mentioned amnesty. Polls like this are quite sensitive to the exact wording of the question and the contextual questions.

12 Million? Its more like 30 by most estimates! CNN did a poll last month that had 68% against passing Amnesty to the 'lil law breakers. My parents came here legally and learned the language.
Just more of the continuing "Balkenization" of the North American Union! oops 'er I mean America....for now.

We are becoming Meximerica.

The northern portion pays for the infrastructure, research, technology, medical care, education, etc.

The southern portion bleeds the turnip dry.

Then what? We all sit around and sing Kumbaya? Oh, wait! We'd have to sing it as "Venido Cerca Aquí".
