Republicans risking conservative backlash over immigration

There are 89 comments on the The Republic story from Jun 16, 2018, titled Republicans risking conservative backlash over immigration. In it, The Republic reports that:

The push toward immigration votes in the House is intensifying the divide among Republicans on one of the party's most animating issues and fueling concerns that a voter backlash could cost the GOP control of the House in November. To many conservatives, the compromise immigration proposal released this past week by House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., is little more than "amnesty."

About time Republicans stood up and did something with Democrats on immigration! Did you just figure out Trump’s a liar? Better late than never!

Why do that when something is being prepared to finally accept these undocumented citizens by doing the right thing.

Wonder why? Perhaps people were just sick of middle of the road politicians (both parties) and lame brain all inclusive liberals who will one day ratify a law for humans to marry other mammals.

Soon men will have cows as wives.

The people don't want Amnesty for people who come here illegally and disrespect honest law abiding people who are waiting in line.
These politicians who vote for Amnesty in either party are going to get the Boot.

Americans love Mexican food. We consume nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales and anything resembling Mexican in enormous quantities. We love Mexican beverages, happily knocking back huge amounts of tequila, mezcal, and Mexican beer every year. We love Mexican people—we sure employ a lot of them. Despite our ridiculously hypocritical attitudes towards immigration, we demand that Mexicans cook a large percentage of the food we eat, grow the ingredients we need to make that food, clean our houses, mow our lawns, wash our dishes, and look after our children. As any chef will tell you, our entire service economy—the restaurant business as we know it—in most American cities, would collapse overnight without Mexican workers. Some, of course, like to claim that Mexicans are “stealing American jobs.” But in two decades as a chef and employer, I never had ONE American kid walk in my door and apply for a dishwashing job, a porter’s position—or even a job as a prep cook. Mexicans do much of the work in this country that Americans simply won’t do.

I don't disagree with that.
Legal immigrants from all over the world are in line to come to the US and do any of these jobs.
Why should people who came here illegally be given preference?
A pattern of disregard for the American taxpayers is what we have in Washington and it WILL be dealt with at the ballots.

When you allow someone to jump ahead of the line to come to the US, you are giving them preference over honest people who are waiting in line.
That is a moronic precedent.
