I don't think so. There are all kinds of jobs open for educated people, it's just that companies can't find those people. People with an advanced education have a much lower unemployment rate than the national unemployment average.
If you're a person in their 40s or 50's still living at mom and dads, certainly you can do something different. But people in that 40 to 60 range are usually people who rely on their income to survive. How does one go to school when they have a full time job? Night school would take many years to obtain a degree. How will you keep up the house payments? How will you pay those college bills for your kids? What will you do to maintain your medical insurance? Will your wife sign the papers to put the house up for collateral so you can open up your own business?
You don't have these obstacles when you're younger. Most parents are supportive of their young adult children and willing to help them along. That's what I mean by they are stuck.
It's weird how people talk as if this country is in some static state and not rapidly transforming. In fact, the "western countries" are facing fundamental issues without actually addressing them. Their societies are dependent on a very structured monopolistic system - the one I mentioned before - and the US heads towards that same kind of society.

A singular pipeline where it will always be OTHERS providing this or that. America became what it was because millions of people didn't want that pipeline and took it UPON THEMSELVES to provide what they needed instead of whining about "being stuck" because of what OTHERS have done. There will be LESS jobs in the future, regardless of education. The US has quite a bit of fumes to run on but its' only temporary.

History has proven that this type of socialistic extreme, akin to communism, fails, every time. Those in favor of this system, are proof of a failed educational system.

This was in the making for some time. If you study the Governer of Texas and how he allows his state to be overrun by illegals then you can get a better perspective on his agenda. You laugh because its not just going to happen with these low skilled jobs but eventually they'll be taking over white collar jobs as well. In fact it's happening as we write on this forum.
Better act now because the mother ship has arrived with a new kind of worker or should i say alien nation.

You are mostly right and I'd love nothing more than to see us break free from this idiotic idea called 'global economy'.

We had few friends helping us when this country started out, and we'd have even fewer today if we weren't so giving to the rest of the world.
The world that would not and will not do us any favors without something in return.

Too many of us (in both party lines) yell and scream about our rights, but we cower away when faced with the reality that those rights came at a price. A personal price that meant personal sacrifice.

We're not done yet though, you mentioned pipeline and fumes...
Fracking (google it if you're not up on it) will change this countries resources/self worth very soon.
We will have a thriving job sector very soon; for all levels of education.

The only thing we'll need to make us great again will be enough backbone to fend off this idea that we should all be socialists and kowtow to the stupid global economy. The one I just stated was never there for us.

It's up to us as Americans to bring America back.
The current administration sucks, but we can change that.
I think the reason we didn't change it this election is because there was nothing better offered, plain and simple.

Don't you mean the Romninsky Care Plan. Didn't Obama mirror some provisions and ideas stemming from Romney's health care reform when he was governor of Massachusetts.

I agree with your overall message in this post. We are as a nation (and a world) in the midst of a huge transformation. However, a sticking point in your argument for me is the part about "others" providing this or that and that there will be "less" jobs in the future, regardless of education. The simple fact is, there will have to be some kind of gainful employment for the vast majority of people or we will be in big trouble. People will have to earn a living honestly or they will simply turn to crime to survive. There's no way around that. It's self-preservation. Contrary to the rhetorical notion that people can somehow form their own business in lieu of a wage-earning job is just not practical. There is a possibility that people with similar skills could network and share resources to achieve a common goal, but I think a lot of people (especially conservatives) would consider that to be a form of communism... especially the common ownership part of it. At any rate, it would be basically impossible for individuals to acquire the tools necessary to produce in the volumes necessary to create a viable income for themselves on their own. People need each other, regardless of our so-called claim of independence. Current businesses are basically a large such network of individuals, only the ownership of the capital (equipment and supplies) is most often owned by a separate party (or parties). Perhaps private, common ownership WOULD be a good direction for us to go as a society. One where people pool their resources together in a way like I described above. It would certainly beat our current system where we have a few people skimming most of the rewards off the top for simply sitting in meetings.
