Among John Kerry's credentials to be secretary of state, Obama said a few days earlier, was that "he served with valor in Vietnam." The ... (more)

Hagel and Kerry have so much baggage. Hagel has made comments about the GAYS - and Israel - he also got Kerry who protested against Vietnam threw his medals away - makes you think does he really love America. Obama does not need votes now so he will do as he pleases.

Obama only picks losers like Kerry, Hagel and Clinton. I hope her new helmet will protect her against sniper fire.

Yep, they started the war, then ran off to Canada when it was time to fight.

Kerry is a swift boat liar, and Hagel is really a Dem in GOP disguise just like Colin Powell. They both compliment Obama perfectly

It doesn't matter who gets those positions and Vietnam is a dead issue. The people who remember Vietnam are nearing or are retired. They only care about keeping money in the pot for Medicare.

All that's really being said here is that the Democrats are claiming to be participants in what is and was wars fought by the underclass, as all wars are. The message is about employment.

Personally, as a vet, I've had mothers ask about whether or not I thought it was a good idea for their kid to join the military. I give an honest answer.

The military is largely a good ol' boy infrastructure. If the country is in the middle of a war, and your kid isn't much of a good ol' boy, it's very risky, it's very likely that they'll shove dangerous and disposable work at him.

That's when I find out the real truth, Mom wants support for her decision to drive junior out of the house, I kind of want to punch them all and toss my medals the way Kerry did. But if junior can't get a job, and the young collectively don't care as long as it's not a draft, I just don't bother to get involved.

Stop using vets for political posturing.

The fact that Lindsey Graham doesn't like Hagel is enough for him to have the job.

So Hagels a dem ,why? because he doesn't want to roll over for Israel? because he wants to talk to Iran instead of bomb them?

Ask Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old Pakistani activist who was shot in the head by the Taliban for being an outspoken proponent of equal education while walking home from school, about that.
Israel is our friend stupid. Iran is our enemy. What the hell is wrong with you?

what a terd you are, you're a vet, you denigrate vets before you with your vietnam vets are just medicare moochers from a dead war, then you puffed out chest state you want to toss your 'hero medals' away in disgust and punch mothers out.

well hero, your day will come when your war will be a dead issue and you stand in line with fellow vets for aged healthcare.

you sound like one of the morons getting 100% disability for ptsd cause you saw a dead body and stand in line with the real heros for your disability check, the guys with 1 arm or leg. FOff REMF the world is full of whining losers like you, you need to become an afghan vet suicide statistic, the maybe someone would give a crap.

Obama wasn't an unknown when he beat Romney. We bought into the Class Warfare stuff ala Hugo Chavez or Castro. Mob Rule is now the standard in America as Obama Nation. There is no going back.

Obama WON. Now shut up and let Obama/Pelosi/Reid have their way with us.

The new generations of aimless, drugged hippie spawn will struggle to maintain the anti-war myths generated by Communists leading those cowardly oppositions to actions defending free people in Vietnam. Such delusion is a foundational perception embraced by these narcissistic do-nothings. They will overlook the Communist terror overrunning SE Asia. They will overlook the reeducation death camps run by the Communists. They will disregard the hundreds of thousands of refugees escaping Communist tyranny and viciousness. They will say our men and women were not defending the defenseless. They will avoid realizing the lies of the provable Communist subversion of American youth, who in their confusion could do little more than gather in large displays of drug use and moral abandon, guaranteeing their children to a continued morass of confusion and Communist propaganda, willing to abandon those truly in need just as their worthless parents.

Volunteer service in Vietnam is indeed a very respectable, selfless service.

Since you probably don't have a military background, it must be difficult for you to understand teh importance of friends in the middle east and enemy's in the middle east. Maybe you prefer stoning as the cure for adultry.
