Haha! Now these white folks know what ethnic minorities (blacks, Mexicans, Asians, etc.) go through on a regular basis.
The police constantly show up at your door unannounced and harrass you and scare you without any regard for your rights.
I hope that they Mayor and his family are terrified now. Because that is precisely how ethnic minorities feel about the Police on a regular basis.

Give a man a gun and too often he'll shoot anything on all fours. Then to add insult to injury he'll use the lame excuse that he had to pull the trigger because he felt threatened. Give me a break. My heart aches for the Mayor and his family. Heaven help this community and for heavens sake, keep an eye on your pets. You've got gun totin cowboys wearing police uniforms roaming your streets. YIKES!!!

I like the idea of dropping them off in Haiti. These heros always think they're studs because they face no real opposition. I do think that in general most of this violent mindset and racial divide in America is a product of right-wing thinking, but both parties are to blame for our current mess. After Rome peaked, you know, it took centuries of god-awful disorder til the end. Tough it out in America or emigrate. This country is a dump. And to all the rightwing morons who are always barking about communism/socialism, shut up, you dont even know the meaning of the word. America is a raw capitalist, fascist, racist society, and would be Colombia if it wasnt for the small bit of 'socialism' the left wing forced on elites in response to rampant inequalities. You lowbrow yokels in the country would be slaves to the urban elites if it wasnt for 'socialism'. You are anyway. GW is your bitchmaster and you think he's your friend, stupid suckers. As far as the police, what else is new, they're jacked bitches of the rich. They do what they're told and get violent for a paycheck. Eventually, they may cross enough lines that civilians militias will form. We'll see how the legal system works til then.
Good points, Brother.

if that happened to my family, i'd shoot first and ask questions later. Of course, that would give the above-the-law enforcement officials every right to shoot me down, but i'd rather be dead than live in a fascist state... and that's what the U.S.A. has been truned into by the right wing Republican "patriots."
You idiot Maryland is about as leftist a state as there is and PGC is a also run by Democrats...

With that being said I want theses cops to fry! This is really disturbing!

Furthermore if some rouge cops enter a home unannounced and unidentified as the police I agree with your assessment of shooting first and asking questions later. Unfortunately I also agree with your assessment that you would probably end up dead. Although I do not agree “that would give the above-the-law enforcement officials every right to shoot me down”. I would hope that people still have the right to defend their homes even from cops acting illegally.

I have always advocated for at least a 5-year minimum mandatory sentence for any Law Enforcement official, cop or otherwise, who is involved in a criminal act, on top of what ever the actually penalties for the crime would be. If these degenerate power happy dirt bags want to be in law enforcement and then break the laws that they would arrest you or me for, there should be a stiff price to pay. Does anyone wonder why there is so little respect for the police anymore?

Additionally how stupid do these cops have to be to not know who’s home they are raiding, especially when it is the mayor. WTF!

Ps…sorry for calling you an idiot but wake up and realize that while Republicans are essentially useless it is the Left who is by far the greater threat to our liberties.

I have lived in PG county for 20 years and lately the police seem to be getting more and more aggressive, however, crime keeps going up. The sheriffs department isn't any better. There is absolutely no reason to shoot a family pet.

The stupid barbarians!!

I hope this happens to every single politician in this country, especially the those in Congress. They are the ones who gave these powers to the police, they are the ones who created this drug prohibition, they are the one who refuse to provide proper police oversight, and they are the ones who refuse to hold the police accountable when they screw up and kill innocent people. Therefore, the only people who deserve to have this kind of thing happen to them are the politicians who created the mess in the first place.

Don't expect an apology from the police. They're too important for that.In fact they're above the law. Maybe if and or when one their animals or even an officer gets shot breaking into the wrong house they'll slow down a bit. Just like all citizens are not criminals not all cops are trigger happy. But it sure makes you wonder.

They should require Police to carry a bond which they pay for themselves. When the police get sued for millions for events like this one, the bonding company pays, not the public.

Every time the Police call looking for money I tell them there are too many police and red light and traffic cameras have replaced the need for half of them.

The fact is that most police become police so that they can kill people and pets legally. They enjoy it. Remember the redneck you knew in highschool that liked to beat up on smaller kids and then laugh and boast about it later? Well now you know what he does for a living... he's a cop, along with all of his other reject bully buddies. They kill for pleasure and we pay them for it. Nice. Oh and if you expect any justice, forget it. This will be forgotten by the press and everyone else by the middle of next week. Most of the cops involved will probably get commendations and pay raises the week after.
I agree except since the guy whose dogs they shot was THE MAYOR of the town, this one is not going away quite so easy. The FBI probably won't really dig into the narcotics guys, for example, by doing a complete financial investigation to see if they have been 'making more money' than they should have been making, by stealing and selling drugs and 'confiscating' some cash for themselves. Lots of cash in that drug business, I have read. Who besides the drug dealer really knows how much money was there when the cops came in the door? Can we really trust a drug dealer who accuses the cops of theft of money he is forfeiting to the government anyway? Why would the drug criminal incite the police in any event by bringing up their theft of some of his money?

Didn't Bill Clinton say, "Always follow the money."

I know this is off topic but I just need to clarify something you said. I work hard, you don't, so I must get taxed to death so you can have a "head start, welfare, food stamps, low income housing, social security, medicare, free education, etc".

I'm no lawyer but please point out WHERE in the Great U.S Constitution does it say you are entitled to all that.

Hold on. It may not be known who among the home invaders did the actual shooting, so if you're concerned about people being wrongly blamed, you may not want to go down this road.
Besides, the invaders were no doubt following orders from their superiors, so we don't know what they were told about the so-called suspects.
A thorough investigation needs to be conducted into this raid, and hopefully some light will be shed on who's responsible for this excessive use of force.
AAH-The old "Only following orders" defense-if my history is correct, that didn't work out too well at the Nuremburg trials

Marijauna, pot, hemp, grass, weed, 420, ganja, etc., etc....
When will the idiocy end?
HISTORY FACTS
*Hemp has been grown for at least the last 12,000 years for fiber (textiles and paper) and food. It has been effectively prohibited in the United States since the 1950s.
*George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew POT. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper.
*When US sources of "Manila hemp" (not true hemp) was cut off by the Japanese in WWII, the US Army and US Department of Agriculture promoted the "Hemp for Victory" campaign to grow hemp in the US.
*Because of its importance for sails (the word "canvass" is rooted in "cannabis") and rope for ships, hemp was a required crop in the American colonies.
INDUSTRY FACTS
*Henry Ford experimented with hemp to build car bodies. He wanted to build and fuel cars from farm products.
*BMW is experimenting with hemp materials in automobiles as part of an effort to make cars more recyclable.
*Much of the bird seed sold in the US has hemp seed (it's sterilized before importation), the hulls of which contain about 25% protein.
*Hemp oil once greased machines. Most paints, resins, shellacs, and varnishes used to be made out of linseed (from flax) and hemp oils.
*Rudolph Diesel designed his engine to run on hemp oil.
*Kimberly Clark (on the Fortune 500) has a mill in France which produces hemp paper preferred for bibles because it lasts a very long time and doesn't yellow.
*Construction products such as medium density fiber board, oriented strand board, and even beams, studs and posts could be made out of hemp. Because of hemp's long fibers, the products will be stronger and/or lighter than those made from wood.
*The products that can be made from hemp number over 25,000.
SCIENTIFIC FACTS
*Industrial hemp and marijuana are both classified by taxonomists as Cannabis sativa, a species with hundreds of varieties. C. sativa is a member of the mulberry family. Industrial hemp is bred to maximize fiber, seed and/or oil, while marijuana varieties seek to maximize THC (delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana).
*While industrial hemp and marijuana may look somewhat alike to an untrained eye, an easily trained eye can easily distinguish the difference.
*Industrial hemp has a THC content of between 0.05 and 1%. Marijuana has a THC content of 3% to 20%. To receive a standard psychoactive dose would require a person to power-smoke 10-12 hemp cigarettes over an extremely short period of time. The large volume and high temperature of vapor, gas and smoke would be almost impossible for a person to withstand.
*If hemp does pollinate any nearby marijuana, genetically, the result will always be lower-THC marijuana, not higher-THC hemp. If hemp is grown outdoors, marijuana will not be grown close by to avoid producing lower-grade marijuana.
*Hemp fibers are longer, stronger, more absorbent and more mildew-resistant than cotton.
*Fabrics made of at least one-half hemp block the sun's UV rays more effectively than other fabrics.
*Many of the varieties of hemp that were grown in North America have been lost. Seed banks weren't maintained. New genetic breeding will be necessary using both foreign and domestic "ditchweed," strains of hemp that went feral after cultivation ended. Various state national guard units often spend their weekends trying to eradicate this hemp, in the mistaken belief they are helping stop drug use.
*A 1938 Popular Mechanics described hemp as a "New Billion Dollar Crop." That's back when a billion was real money.
*Hemp can be made in to a variety of fabrics, including linen quality.

Unbelievable!!! That entire Augean Stable ought to be cleared out if there is anyone with the courage to do it. Sadly the decent members of the force wil be tarred with the same brush as the Gestapo-like thugs who pulled off this raid. I wish I could believe justice will be done but (this being the "real" world where money talks) it probably will not be. Shame ful!

You heard only partly right. Libertarians are for a strong military--here at home! Strong police? Hmmm, no...only one that adheres to the rights granted us in the Constitution. It is not my right dictate how another person how lives their life. Alcohol is one of the most lethal drugs around, so why aren't we pushing for its prohibition again? Because prohibition fails! Tell me, in all these years, how much of the war on drugs have we won?

I can't believe there is a powerful party like the Libertarians who openly support legal heroin, legal whorehouses everywhere, and legal gambling of all forms, like neighborhood casinos everywhere.
I also heard that Libertarians are for very strong police and military to protect the rich and powerful. That means that Libertarians would naturally be on the side of the police in this Cheye Calvo dog shooting.
Every political party seems to get it about half-right.

Funny but a check of election results for Prince Georges's County indicates hardly any Republican's on the ballot, and those that were there were defeated soundly.

This is an outrage-Every cop who was part of this gestapo like raid needs to answer for their roles in a Court of Law. No cordination/communication with the other local police forces? Over-stepping the dicates of their warrent?(btw the judge who granted this warrent has some things to answer for as well). Shooting household pets for what appears to nothing more than the fact that they could get away with it cause they have shiney little badges to hide behind?

This whole episode is very scary, my confidence in law enforcement officers is shaken. For what? Weed? To hell with Iraq and Afganistan---Its the war on Drugs right here in the USA which the Govt needs to withdrawl from and admit is over-episodes like this are proof positive of such.
