[The ADELAIDEAN] And "100 rounds" of ammo is absolute peanuts to anyone who owns even just one gun! A few practice visits to a recreational shooting range would finish off 500 rounds which is a standard per-packet quantity routinely sold over the counter.

[Ahomana] This problem is easily solved.... if you wish to have that much ammo to shoot at targets join a shooting club where both ammo and weapons stay on site and you can stay as long as you like and get as much ammo as you like as long as you remain in that protected area. We can go to a gun club access your weapon and do just that....why you can even try out different types of guns.....so no problems.
That idea surfaces from time to time from anti-gunners. Unfortunately it is exceedingly dangerous and if adopted could itself lead to loss of life. Consider the following:

1. Guns have to be responsibly maintained. Stripped down, cleaned, oiled, reassembled. Most owners carry out those procedures at home where it is actually easier under conditions that they can better control. Some smaller ranges are primitively built and not fully weather proof.

2. "Putting all eggs in one basket" has been a bad idea for centuries.

Typically Ranges are in remote locations for obvious safety reasons. Once word gets out among the criminal fraternity that each remotely located Range has a vault full of guns it would become an irresistible target for lowlifes looking to score an arsenal. "One Stop Shopping!!"

Ranges are not attended 24/7/365. All a couple of crooks need to do is set themselves up a comfy little picnic spot on a hill overlooking the range. With a pair of binoculars they can study all comings & goings and determine the pattern of attendance and non-attendance, to plan a break-in.

3. Here's where it can get more sinister. Breaking tools are all very well but tedious and slow. A key is quicker. Through observation from afar crooks could soon deduce which Club member has the duty to open or close the range premises, and most likely the vault too, and least likely to have company etc. They could either lie in wait and overpower him to aid their access, injuring or killing him in the process, else follow him to his home and "gain cooperation" there, perhaps even endangering family too. None of which is hard to organize if the crooks happen to be a gang of Bikies for instance, used to violence and always hungry for more guns.

Dozens of guns and their ammo could vanish in one raid.

4. What Insurance Company would insure such a tempting target?

5. Thieves are not the only danger. A rogue government could be too. How convenient for all the guns to be parceled up in one premises ready to hand over on demand before anyone can challenge by what newly approved right.

There are no doubt other reasons why centralized storage at clubs is a bad idea too, but these are a start.

The suggestion that it gives club members a chance to try each other's guns is redundant. They do that already, under present conditions.:)

"...I always provide proof and post the truth..."

There's a lie right there...and everyone knows it.

YOU said Adam Lanza was a law abiding citizen when he shot the children in the school...YOU failed to accept the FACT that he stole his mothers guns and killed her BEFORE he went to the school...but because he didn't have a criminal record, he wasn't a criminal, according to YOU...ROTFLMAO...with that logic, even after he shot those children, he didn't have a record so he wasn't a criminal.

You post a blog to refute the FACTS from the FBI Uniform Crime Report that has shown that blunt objects and hands, fists and feet are used to committ more murders than rifles. YOUR "blog" was wrong and did not refute the FACTS presented to you. YOU know YOU were wrong, and are so blinded with your own hatred and rage that you will never acknowledge that.

YOU are an ignorant, lying, POS, "frustrated control freak".

LOL...another lie...lol...I provide FACTS...you refute them (chough...chough..) with a "blog"....ROTFLMAO.. .you're still an ignorant, lying, POS, "frustrated control freak"

You'll have to explain that further. I don't know how a limited, fiscally responsible government is brainwashing. Quite the opposite being it's the government doing the brainwashing.

I know of people who home school their children and have times available when these children can socialise together - I don't why teachers unions would obstruct charter schools - that would seem quite unfair. I also sent my son to a private school, for the sole purpose of protecting him, as far as possible, from the politically correct dogma which is directing public schools at the present time.
Charter schools are nonunion. It's all about the money and financing political candidates that meet their ideology I suppose.

The state legislature in Indiana passed laws making them a right to work state, that is a union can't be forced on an employee. They are in the process or have moved to a state voucher system. Good on them.

It's the liberals, stupid. The liberals are ruining this country with their sanctioning of sexual perversion, violent video games, violent movies, violent rap music videos on MTV, ad nauseum.

Liberals will go to hell. We will keep our guns, thank you, and protect our homes against liberal lowlife criminals.

You're not getting it. A court of law is denied. That is the point. A person is deemed a [potential] criminal without evidence when a government determines what an individual can or cannot own.

So are you saying that no legislation can be passed unless a day in court is provided for each individual affected?

Interesting.

The best thing that happened to the indians was the government taking over. They would still be living in teepee's and freezing and starving to death.

WHY SHOULD THE TAXPAYERS BE SUPPORTING THE INDIANS AFTER MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS. WHEN IS ENOUGH, ENOUGH?
