It was dad's fault. I hope he enjoy's living with it.

PS Mark, that is the cowards way to solve the problem. Too bad you were not man enough to live with what you did.

I've heard Mark had a MDD. People having MDD don't think about suicide in these terms.
I don't feel sympathetic with the Madoff's family fall from big money, but one should put in consideration that Mark and his brother were never prepared emotionally for all this. They grew up very entitled, they blew the whistle on their own father and we do not know, if they knew about his dealings before or not. Cut Mark some slack and let him RIP. He's just another victim of greed as everybody entangled in this mess he didn't ask for.

At least they didn't foul the murder, I mean suicide up like they did the apparent suicide Gary Webb, the reporter who broke the story about the government's involvement in drug trafficing, who decided to shoot himself twice in the back of the head because he couldn't deal with what he done.

I heard Mark tried to be a professional boxer, but was not able to make it. His coach said he could not take a shot to the head.

MDD? I guess I need to look that up. You are correct in that they felt entitled and were not emotionally equipped to cope. I doubt if they were aware of the scope of Dad's crimes. They were entitled and probably never thought that much about how or where. When they did, they did the right thing it appears. They turned in their Dad, and then had the fingers on them. My complaint is he left a two year old in the house at all. The child is surely traumatized. This sounds selfish, along with leaving his wife to cope. However, entitled are usually as well, narcissists.I am not saying all wealthy, I am saying that entitled mentality.

I can't believe all the blubbering sympathy in these threads. This guy abandoned his babies, two little kids. Now what effect do you suppose his suicide is going to have on them for the rest of their lives? Their mother had already petitioned court authorities in New York for a name change because even the toddlers had gotten death threats. She asked that her surname and that of the kids be changed from Madoff to Morgan. So now that daddy took the coward's way out, mom and the kids will have to face this disgrace alone.

If he gave me part the 50 billion I would have talked him into accepting 150 years in prison
