There were people then who wanted to pursue that exact option on our former president. And, why do you try to paint me as one who would support or agree with such a pursuit? Did I not say that there are nutcases on both the Left as well as the Right? Regardless of politics, I regard anyone that would assisinate an elected official a nutcase. I served 23 years in my nation's cloth to protect your right to disagree with my opinions, and to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. Obama is a democratically-elected president. I may not agree with him, as is my right to do so, but that's a far jump from wanting him to be harmed. Frankly, your insinuation is quite offensive and if you were a decent person, you would take it back and apologize.
Hillary Clinton may have found the referenced movie despicable, and I'm glad she did. You can list a million names of people on the Left that found it despicable, but that doesn't negate the fact that many on the Left paid to see and praised its pretense. My only point to Canard is that both Left and Right camps have their own share of nutcases.
I never tried to paint you as one who agreed in such a pursuit. As usual, thatís how you paint me in viewing you. Nothing I can do about that if thatís how you prefer things. Yes, you did say there are nut cases on both sides. As far as I know thatís how itís always worked since one man had a differing opinion with another. I insinuated nothing. Your problem is you keep wanting to demonize others to make your case. Try rereading what I wrote with a more objective view. Perhaps youíll see there was nothing directed at you. So itís really you who owes me an apology.

If you believe anyone is a nut case to assassinate an elected official, keep in mind that should apply to other elected officials outside the United States as well if you believe in the process.

Yes, both sides have their nut cases. But you seem more concerned about one party being hurt more than any other.

I still that that there should be a fish sandwich on the dollar menu at McDonald's. What do you think? Just imagine having fish and chips for only 2 dollars plus tax.

I think that most of you would actually enjoy that.

I attached my picture. I am sure that you can see that I am quite serious about the matter.

If Obama feels that he was "ignored," then perhaps it might have at least in part been due to the fact that he was stoned much of the time! That's not a dig at him, that's just the truth.

Anyway, in a graduating class of over 400 students, many of whom were exceptional in academics, talent, athletics, looks, etc., it's definitely not easy to stand out. Barry was average at best in all of those areas.

But regardless, he was definitely not "ignored." He was well in the mix of things, well-known and generally well-liked. I think his ego may have told him that he deserved more attention and admiration, but really, I think it was very proportional to the person he was at the time.

<quoted text> You seem to have no idea how the world works. There is something in economics called the "mulitplier effect". Whatever is done on the upper levels of the economy like gvt tends to expand as it filters through the economy. For example if gvt spends $1, by the time every affected by that $1 get theirs; there might me $3.25 in economic benefit. What is NOT expounded upon but is implied, as the economy feels better that "multiplier effect" expands to maybe $3.75 for example. MORE IMPORTANTLY it also contracts!!!! If the gvt(or anybody for that matter) doesn't spend the initial $1, then the economy shrinks by that $3.25 or $3.75 and I suspect because there is fear because people are highly in debt it is even higher. Bottom line, many of these things happening in the economy are NOT a result of Obama policies but of Bushs. Obama is merely reacting to the situation given. The economy was tanking WELL BEFORE Obama was in office. Are you that clueless? YOU ARE ASSUMING THERE IS A GOOD CHOICE. Obama is picking the least bad choice. Look at what the do nothing attitude got us. A greedy banking system that couldn't police itself properly. Bush's policy of allowing Fed to have lax money policies so people would be able to buy houses and forget the cost of the war. IT BACKFIRED. The housing collapse fell while he was in office and his policies were well in place. Being in office just 1 year, Obama's policies have not yet filtered in the economy. It takes about 1-2 years. I suppose your one of those who would shoot the "messenger". Bottom line, the laisse-faire attitude was tried and it FAILED due to to much greed.
You are Exhibit "A" when it comes to knowing just enough to be dangerous.

True, there is a "multiplier effect," but the well-known Romer-Bernstein study found that the multiplier for government spending is only on the order of about 1.5.(If the names "Romer" and "Bernstein" sound familiar - she is Christina Romer, Obama's chair of his Council of Economic Advisers, and Jared Bernstein is the Chief Economist of the Office of the VP.) This "1.5" multiplier appears to be what Obama is using for its projections. Other studies (e.g., by Barro), however, have found multipliers closer to 1 - i.e., no "multiplier" effect at all.

Further, a more recent study by Cogan et al. found that the actual multiplier for government spending is only about one-third of what Romer-Bernstein assumed... and more significantly, that in the current situation, the multiplier effect of government stimulus spending will actually become *negative* in 2013 and for several years thereafter.

Significantly, a number of studies have concluded that tax cuts have a significantly higher multiplier effect than government spending, although others have disputed this as well.

Bottom line: be careful about tossing around the "multiplier effect" unless you really know what you're talking about. And even then, realize that the multiplier estimates of widely-respected economists have varied widely - but few are in the range of the >3 you use in your example.
