I wish this comedian and others would explain how the United States going into more and more debt, printing more and more money with no value is going to help us.

If you would take the time to do some research and read what the Nobel Prize Laureate economists, the Finance Ministers from other developed nations, and other serious analysts are reporting about the crisis we face, the 30 years that it took to get here, the notions associated with "multiplier effects" and "chaos theory", you might begin to get a fuller understanding.

Now I realize that this is an unreasonable request and that simply shouting one-line complaints and simple-minded assertions is both easier and more fun, but our problems are actually serious.

But for now, we need to 1) get as many people as possible back to work as soon as possible - and government-funded jobs are the quickest way to do that. 2) stem the loss of homes - and a series of interrelated efforts are underway for this 3) prevent the total collapse of the financial system.

Everyone thought they could live high-off-the-hog for years by adding to their credit-card debt and leveraging the fake value of their homes with zero percent interest. We acted as if we could pay for an endless war without increasing taxes. We borrowed money from China as if we would never have to pay it back. And the rich got richer while the rest of us made no net progress at all.

You want to now bitch about Federal Spending as the worst thing ever? Go ahead if it makes you feel better. In the meantime, Obama and his team will be working their butts off trying to find solutions to these horrific problems that they inherited from the previous Administration and its buddies.

I would like to think Obama and crew are working their butts off to solve the problem. Passing pork-dripping bills certainly stimulates some local projects and aggrandizes the congressman but doesn't do anything to encourage national permanent employment.

Federal spending didn't get us out of the depression and it won't do it now unless that spending is on some huge, immediately beneficial project....like energy independence and all that would entail with infrastructure pipeline connection, making natural gas available to rural areas, constructing nuclear facilities throughout the US, get all the drilling going, get some refineries opened, connect all the electric grids, and so forth. This would have created millions of jobs throughout the country, would stop tons of money going to the laundry heads, and benefitted future generations. Saving mice, identifying barnyard odors, building welcome centers, passing out condoms, and opening up what little road work included in the stimulus bill to criminal migrants...doesn't help the cause.

Three cheers for President Obama. He got his stimulus package through Congress - and with bi-partisan support."

My ASS! a couple democrats in Republican cloths with opposition even from a couple of the Democrats!

To Obama, having a meeting with Republicans and then saying "Great, you had your say, now it's my way or the highway" is his version of being bi-partisan!

Liberals know what Rush and the Republicans mean by hoping socialism fails. It's a twisted argument which shows the lying nature of the liberals!

No American who has toiled in making this country great wants to see it fail. Any one that thinks of says such are delusional.
I am not saying that the nation is in a state of change but if we will involve ourselfs, we can help shape the future.
It is not going to be easy but can be done.

First the Chinese - then you, me, our children, and our grandchildren. This is what happens when you allow the power-elite to play games with our money and our future. This is what happens the country gets duped into a stupid notion that to make the economy grow "consuming" is more important than "producing." This is what happens when you blind the systems of regulation, governance, and oversight in the name of "free markets." This is what happens when more than 50% of our tax money is sucked up by the military and we let our education, health care, and transportation system go to pot. Mostly this is what happens when people get greedy and refuse to accept any responsibility for the future and act as if concern for the "common good" is socialism.

Now we pay the piper. It is over! The IOU has been called.

No one wants America to fail. There was not one problem taking tax dollars from gains with all of the bubbles we had. After they peaked and deflated the tears started. Where do you think you got the money for liberal programs from? We are all pissed at what happened. But the truth is, maybe the powers that be knew what was coming and after forestalling common sense downturns that would have hurt over the years kept pumping money into the system and it blew apart. We are a nation that worries more about our lifestyle choices then the nation. Well now its payback and most of us still have not paid back and the system is still paying out like nothing happened. We need to open the rivers of capitalism again to ignite our economy. that means every energy source in America must be considered. The lands that are the PEOPLES must be made open to the people. Let the government control the energy sources if need be and lease it to the oil company rift raft. Start protecting some industries. Slowly at first as we retreat from other nations militarily. Protect our borders. What is the problem with this? Do you wonder why there are conspiracy people? Of course when an attack happens it will be from some "Oh Golly" Canadian entrance point to not make our Southern border look like a penis with a bad STD which it is.
