Reality only confuses him. Too many hours with his mouth on the exhaust from #2 cylinder.
This just in:

The U.S. consulate in Libya was attacked twice in the months leading up to the deadly attack that claimed the lives of four Americans, it was revealed today.
The militants responsible for the bombings were also active on social networks, and used Facebook to issue additional threats - including some against Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador who was killed in the strike.
The information is likely to increase pressure on the Obama administration as it suggests little was done to secure the facility despite the fact that it was a prime terror target.

Kind of makes Obama look like an imbecile, doesn't it?
Unless, Obama is actually working for the terrorists. Then, all the FACTS and the obvious lies that come out of Obama's mouth begins to make sense with the real world.
By the way, we know the Marines guarding the embassy were ordered by Obama to be unarmed. Since there's now known a history of attacks on that embassy, that would be an assasine thing for Obama to do, wouldn't it?

So, you have to agree that Obama is an assasine imbecile, don't you?
Or, you can make up your own fraudulent history, like your so-called "progressives" do.

Telling Stories About Polls

Roger Kimball rails against “The Narrative” that says Obama is very likely to win the election:

Ah, the polls. I pointed out, as I have often pointed out here, that polls are often fragile, unreliable constructs: more the product of hope than the evidence of fact.

This is a revealing line, since Kimball is the one replacing evidence with wishful thinking here. He believes and hopes that Romney will “not only win but win big,” but there is not much evidence he can cite that would support this hope. So he pretends that facts he dislikes are “more the product of hope,” when it is he who is relying almost entirely on hope (or delusion). There is some unfounded storytelling going on here, but it’s not happening the way Kimball describes.

Polls are measures of voter preferences. While imperfect, they do measure voters’ political leanings reasonably well. If they were as frequently misleading as Kimball hopes they are, no one would pay for them or pay any attention to them. Kimball repeats the standard “oversampling” argument, which has been thoroughly debunked. Here is Silver:

But pollsters, at least if they are following the industry’s standard guidelines, do not choose how many Democrats, Republicans or independent voters to put into their samples — any more than they choose the number of voters for Mr. Obama or Mitt Romney. Instead, this is determined by the responses of the voters that they reach after calling random numbers from telephone directories or registered voter lists.

Kimball also pushes the idea that “most polls (Rasmussen is an exception) canvass registered rather than likely voters.” Paul Rahe makes the same weird argument elsewhere:

Scott Rasmussen’s polls differ from those of his rivals in one particular. He samples likely, not registered voters. Come October, however, many of the other pollsters shift their sampling and focus, as Rasmussen does, onto likely voters.

What Kimball and Rahe describe may have been true in late July or early August, but it ceased to be true five or six weeks ago. It wasn’t true for the entire month of September. Just review the national surveys that have been released since the end of August, and you will find that virtually all surveys except for Gallup are polls of likely voters. Almost every polling outfit made that change long before now, and the only reason that someone wouldn’t realize this is if he has been carefully ignoring non-Rasmussen polls and clinging to the illusion that only Rasmussen can be trusted.

The man at the center of a voter-fraud investigation in Florida is a longtime GOP operative with a pugnacious streak and a controversial history among Republicans and Democrats for his aggressive tactics in registering voters.

Nathan Sproul is a businessman who rose rapidly in Arizona politics, heading the local Christian Coalition and the state Republican Party in his mid-20s. A series of voter-fraud allegations against him in 2004 did not slow his ascent: Sproul and firms linked to him have been paid $21.2 million by the Republican Party, its candidates and affiliated interest groups over the past nine years.

But the man who once accused his Democratic critics of having “hysterical fits” now finds himself isolated politically. Nine Florida counties reported to the state that hundreds of voter-registration forms submitted by Sproul’s firm contained irregularities such as suspicious signatures and missing information. State law enforcement authorities are investigating the allegations. A spokesman for Sproul denied any improprieties, saying Sproul’s firm “has never tolerated even minimal violations of election law when registering voters.’’

Late last week, the party that Sproul has worked so hard to build severed ties with him. GOP officials in Florida, who had paid Sproul’s Strategic Allied Consulting $1.3 million this election cycle to help register and turn out voters, filed an election complaint against his firm with state officials.

2004....the first time Sproul got away with fraud.

GOP operative Nathan Sproul makes no apologies for sending his canvassers out to register Republicans, not Democrats, in battleground states. And if powerful Democrats like Ted Kennedy are demanding the Justice Department investigate him, well, he considers that a badge of honor.

``I take great pride in the fact that the Democrats are having hysterical fits about how well we did our job,'' Sproul said.

Sproul and his Chandler, Ariz.-based political consulting firm, Sproul & Associates, have come under fire in recent weeks, accused of deceiving would-be voters and destroying Democratic voter registration cards.

Some of his former canvassers have come forward in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Oregon, alleging they were told to register only Republicans and to ``walk away'' from people who said they intended to vote for John Kerry. Some said that completed Democratic registration forms had been thrown out or ripped up.

Sproul _ a former Christian Coalition activist and one-time executive director of the Arizona GOP with a reputation among Republicans as someone who gets things done _ has denied any wrongdoing.

His political opponents say the 32-year-old Sproul has a history of employing underhanded tactics.

``It comes as no surprise that Nathan Sproul is involved in registering voters in some sketchy way,'' said Arizona Democratic Party spokeswoman Sarah Rosen.``It seems that whatever he's been doing is finally catching up with him. Yet the RNC and Republicans seem to keep rewarding him with new contracts.''

Homosexual Teachers Arrested For Child Molestation In The Past 5 Years
Angela Palmer, 20: Lunchtime monitor at Lasselle Elementary School in Riverside County, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of child molestation on June 10, 2008, after being caught in a compromising position in a parked vehicle with a 16-year-old female student by deputies checking suspicious activity. The incident occurred after summer break had begun. "If school was not over, we would pull her in and do an administrative leave," said the school's information officer
Brenda Osborne, 43: Former Xenia High School volleyball coach and counselor in Xenia, Ohio, was arrested Sept. 3, 2009, and charged with having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a female student. While she initially denied the charge, in March, Osborne changed her plea to guilty to a charge of sexual battery, and was sentenced June 30, 2010, to six months in jail and five years probation.
Cathy Heminghaus, 46: Special-education teacher from Ferguson, Mo., charged with statutory sodomy involving at least three of her students at Ferguson Middle School. She reportedly told friends she had performed oral sex on the children on several occasions in 2005. On July 9, 2007, she pleaded no contest Monday to 25 counts; 21 of them involving statutory sodomy.
Chandra Franks: Gym teacher and coach of softball and cross-country running at Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tenn., was charged Feb. 19, 2011, with sexual battery by an authority figure. Investigators said the victim is a teenager at Haywood High School, but they would not say if the alleged incident happened on campus, nor would they reveal the gender or exact age of the victim.
Crissy Hisey, 28: Sophomore English teacher at Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif., arrested May 1, 2008, for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl at the school. "This started out as a friendship and then developed into a sexual relationship," one detective said, noting it had been ongoing for several months. Hisey was charged with suspicion of lewd conduct with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, child molestation and sending harmful material to a child. Police said the "harmful material" involved photos and videos allegedly found on cell phones of both the teacher and the girl. The alleged sexual contact between Hisey and the girl reportedly happened both at the woman's home and in Hisey's classroom after school hours.
Dawn Welter, 38: Sumner, Wash., teacher at Tenino High School charged April 24, 2007, with second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor for allegedly spending the night with a 16-year-old girl at a motel. Charging papers state that on Feb. 17, Welter engaged in sexual contact with the teen.
Elizabeth Livesay, 26: Special-education teacher at Carson Junior High School in Mesa, Ariz., was arrested Nov. 17, 2008, on 11 charges she had sex with a 16-year-old girl on numerous occasions outside of school grounds. The 16-year-old is not her student and police believe that the girl has not been Livesay's student in the past. She was put on paid leave of absence during the investigation.
