The poll question was “Would you support or oppose a law requiring background checks on people buying guns at gun shows?”

Misleading those asked to think dealers at gun shows were not required to do background checks which is a lie. ALL FFL dealers are required to do background checks. The question of private gun sales between citizens was NEVER asked
The term "gun show loophole" is used but the people polled were never told it pertained to private sales between citizens and in reality very few private gun sales happen at gun shows.

Simply put, the polling data can be substantially affected by the way the question is posed. A poll that asks, “do you support restricting firearm access for felons and the mentally ill” can, and has recently been interpreted as a call for more gun control. Biased questions do little good in gauging public support for any type of proposal. The same sort of issues arise when we look at the Popvox information for Mayors Against Illegal Guns’ (MAIG) proposal in that the central premise of their proposal is that criminals and other prohibited persons will no longer be able to obtain weapons. Based on the way criminals behave, most reasonable people can assume this would be untrue even if we can all agree that ideally that would be the case. Further, other gun control proposals have encountered overwhelming opposition on Popvox.

Exactly, no background checks is the biggest libtard lie going. It is really about registration for future confiscation. Even Feinstein has made the comment she would ban all firearms if she could get the votes.

99.9% of violent criminals wear shoes. 91% of violent criminals were wearing shoes while committing violent crimes. By liberal thinking, shoes cause violent crime and the banning of shoes would eliminate violent crime.

No, there is not 80 to 90 percent of America that supports gun control. In fact like most issues 2/3 of our people have other things to worry about, like how to pay their new insurance premiums, and deductibles. Democrats will put anything out there for the next 11 months to try to dislodge our concerns about the Affordable Identity theft Act. It won't work. Nothing, absolutely nothing will divert our attention from the most important problem in our lives.

How about suicide? Death by edged weapon? Death by blunt object? How much individual freedom has been eliminated?

Success? The Japanese have been successful in murdering millions of innocent people (including Americans) over the years. That's true. If allowed to grow powerful they are likely to do so again.

In case you haven't noticed, Japan is not America and there is a huge difference between the two..........can't miss that fact.....(well, morons can and do.....)

IMOA, Should the 2A ever be changed or amended to restrict the people from bearing arms is the day that the rest of the Constitution will become obsolete.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Do you really believe that criminals will turn in their guns? If guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

Right here, right now:
"Mr. Gardner said, that within a few years past, there has been a fearful and alarming increase in the number of high crimes such as murders and robberies committed by means of violence, and by the use of arms, in this State. This evil has grown into frightful proportions, and the public peace, and private security, demand the most rigorous measures o[f] repression. The members of the Legislature are impressed with the importance of this subject, but, I understand, they are restrained from providing efficient remedies, from a doubt they entertain as to the extent of their power in this direction, Under the provisions of the 26th section of the Bill of Rights. This power, I consider, is secured for the common, and not for individual defense as when the peace and safety of the people of the whole State, or of a county, or even a single neighborhood, is threatened, the people shall have arms, and a right to bear and use them to preserve the peace and good order of society. I would not, however, interfere with, or in the slightest degree abridge, the citizen's right of self-defense."--[Joshua Gardner, Thursday, Jan. 20, 1870, In [Tennessee Constitutional] Convention.]
