It would take quite a while for drilling to even start, then you have to build pipeline to get it somewhere where it can be shipped to a refinery. Then where is all the Alaskan crude refined? JAPAN. Who then sells us back our own refined crude, some years from now. Apart from environmental concerns about drilling in a wildlife refuge, how does this possibly help us? It might make oil companies and those that sell drilling equipment (such as Halliburton) happy, but I can't see that it helps the US consumer one little bit.

Your friggin brain is Rusty! The number of homes in foreclosure is astronomical, and the unemployment rate was never as high under Clinton as it is underBUSHWACKER ! You repugnantcans like to use twisted statistics to make your lies look like fact! Unemployment figures only take into account people on the books as collecting.Once someones benefits expire he is no longer counted.Self employed people who are out of work are not counted either! Like the president says the cost of living is under 5%! What a joke ! As a matter of fact I have decided you must be a comedian cuz you make people with any intelligence at all laugh out loud, and right now we are laughing our butts off at your stupidity! You have been disputing the Governments records every since you have been on here.So are you saying that the Government records are lies.Yes I think that you are calling them a bunch of lairs, are you even a American citizen I doubt it.Just what would your Government think of you.Scum

Clinton created more jobs in two years than Bush has in eight! Clinton did not get this country into an unwinnable war and subsequent occupation of an Islamic country embroiled in a civil war!

Rusty Shackleford wrote: <quoted text> Still can't refute even the unemployment figures? Thought so. And here is Bushs records,President Bush's economic plan had been in place for nearly two years. During the spring of 2001, the Administration claimed that it would strengthen a struggling economy. Unfortunately, those predictions proved false the President's economic plan had failed. Two years later, our economy remains sluggish and continues to lose jobs. Recent economic reports and data give little indication that our economy is on the verge of recovery. President Bush's response is to advocate more of the same failed policies. The economy lost 2.7 million private sector jobs since President Bush took office. The losses have been partially offset by an increase in government employment but total job losses under President Bush are still above 2 million. There where jobs lost for three consecutive months, a total of 525,000 jobs lost. The unemployment rate had jumped back up to 6.0 percent. The worst job growth rate under any President since World War II came under the first Bush Administration. Job creation would have to pick up dramatically in order for President Bush to match his father's poor performance. The economy would have to create 216,000 jobs per month for this Administration to create the same number of jobs as the first Bush Administration. No President since World War II had seen job losses during his tenure. President Bush is in danger of breaking this record of job growth. More than halfway through his term, he has lost more than 75,000 jobs per month. The economy would have to create nearly 97,000 jobs per month to break even by the end of his term. Weakest economic growth under a President in 50 years. The economy grew at a rate of 0.3 percent in 2001 and 2.4 percent

It is a matter of historical record..During the Clinton administration, the U.S. economy grew at a level that was not topped or equal prior to Bill Clinton's terms and since his terms. He holds the record as the most successfull president in terms of economic growth and stability....LOOK IT UP..IT IS A FACT OF U.S. HISTORY!
