It's interesting that you claim not to see the similarities between the process of abortion and this murder. Why are you pretending not to?
Thank God your parents fail to share in your view of this, or at least made an exception.
It is NOT the same...what happened to this poor child is NOT even comparable or anywhere near the same tangent as aborting a fetus.

But if you're happy living in your pro life bubble then more power to you!

Basically seems selfish and self-centered (brainless/depraved) doesn’t it? Mothers have told me that they LOVE the guy and will continue to have a relationship with him, or contact with him, after the abuse.
Then all we can do is try to keep the guy away from the child COMPLETELY and get money for the child’s therapy. Then the child needs therapy not only for the abuse, but for the ongoing “betrayal” of the parent that was supposed to put their welfare above all else. Soooooooooooo frightening.
It takes two to tango so the mother is equal to blame even if they are brainless/depraved.

I think they should both be released...to me - justice would be served. Make no mistake - justice would be served.

It all begins with the family life @ home. If Mom & Dad didn't teach morals/values/standards/ethics / and most importantly GOD then the kid goes out into the world doing things like this.
Can you imagine the indescribable pain this little child went through enduring the insane abuse?
You are right it does begin at home , and yes I can imagine.
Someone suggested screening , good idea ! Also foster /sponsor families for at risk families , like an older aunt back when families were extended and children were taken care of by a large loving group.

Yes, yes, yes, completely to blame, as well as the abuser boyfriend/spouse/relative, whatever.

Forget it Emily...she is pro-life-PERIOD...and that is fine, she has every right to her opinion (although is incapable of understanding when asserting it is inapproprate). The problem being that he/she has to let these views infiltrate EVERY moment of his/her life, even where they don't belong. Imagine insinuating that the people on here are hypocrites because they are posting about this poor child WITHOUT even knowing what the people's views on abortion are. CAS is the type of person that would condescend to think that he/she has a right to decide whether a woman aborts a child in ANY situation, even when it is done to save the life of the mother. She has one way of looking at life and that is it. Life is pretty simple when things are just black and white with no shades of grey and CAS is pretty darn simple.

Well, we can all admit one thing is different. Abortion is legal (much to your dismay), killing a child is not. End of story.

Straight to the chair for both of them, but dont crank it up to high voltage right away.Repeated painful electric shocks up to 50 a day for about a year. Then release them into the hands of real people who care about children.

Now the "mother" is blaming it all on the "stepfather". She did admit to taking part in the belt "spankings" (whippings are more like it)but the "stepfather" took a day off of work to torture this innocent child with this "disaplinary plan". Even if Riley's "mother" did not lay a hand on her, she is just as responsible because Riley sought protection from her and the bitch failed her miserably.
BTW: Not all mothers from Texas are monsters. This freak was from Ohio. Riley was precious, but so are all children no matter what their skin type. They are all God's children and NO child deserves what was dished out to Riley. May God bless all of thier souls.
Agree all children is God's children and no child deserve this, no matter what skin color they have or came from.
And a mother wouldn't let anyone beat her child (ren) up like this, this mother barely didn't take too much care or did care for for her daugther if she didn't do anything to stop the abuse from her man, she cleary as it seems like care more for have man in her life than take care of her child as we know now.
She do not desvere to have any more child after this, neither this man, what they did to this little girl, were horrible, may this little sweet girl rest in peace, she is in God's hend now.

What part of this story did you miss? The father was neglectful and absentee. He was off making another baby with another woman while he, Riley and momma were living in his mother's basement. He heard of the sex abuse charges Riley's sick mother made up and yet made no effort to find where CPS took her or who now had custody of her.
Has it come out now that she's pregnant?
i have heard nothing about Riley's biological father being abusive at all. he and his mother have been looking for Riely since SHE took the baby to meet another man, whom she met online, in Texas. Since that time Riley's father and Grandmother have been working with the courts to gain custody of Riley. They were living in Gramma's basement because they were teenagers (not an excuse for this brutal brutal killing) but, from what i have heard is that Rileys dad did nothing wrong.

i have tried to find information on Rileys other grandparents, the mothers parents. where are they in all of this?

Connie..I agree...the mom should have just let her ex..(the baby's father)take her, or grandparents, aunts, uncles...im sure someone in the family would have taken her, if she didn't want her anymore...

Last I read the mother's parents are now in Texas by her side, claiming that she couldn't have done anything to hurt her child because she wasn't raised that way.

I think what is being missed by some is that "daddy" was off making another responsibility when he couldn't take care of the first one. Not to mention, neither grandma nor daddy looked further into mommy's claim that Riley was taken for sexual abuse. Now they're crying all over the tv, yammering about an Elmo doll. MANY need to step up and take responsibility here.

Being a teen and having a baby is no excuse for having to live with your mother and it certainly should set a precedent to keep your dick in your pants, which he clearly didn't do.

Also, the father WILLINGLY CONCEEDED to allowing mommy fully custody while he maintained visitation rights. Grandma didn't even pick up a phone to check on Riley until she saw the sketch.

Yeah, whole family seems real fit to be reproducing.
