Hispanics comprise less than 9% of the voters.

Ron Paul need only appeal the the veterans that served to protect this country to out vote all the Hispanics by a margin of 4%.

He doesn't need to pander for the Hispanics' votes.

Folks lets not forget that europeans immigrated to America and stole the land from the the local Indians. That should be mentioned in every immigration political meeting.
Yes, see what happens when the borders aren't secure and anyone can wander in (like the Europeans did to the Indians)??

At least when the Europeans moved into America THEY LEARNED a single language !!!

And like all other immigrants way back then, there was NO WELFARE STATE. They had to depend on each other.

Ron Paul will be 81 years old by then.

Doubt if he would even consider running for President.

And yet having someone with his upstanding character would be GREAT for the Constitution and GREAT for America (Americans)!!

This debate is more than just about immigration for a fraction of people, the earlier these are addressed the better. Otherwise emotions and tempers will continue flying like that...

You have all right to hold yourself and your elected officials accountable for allowing this immigration legal or illegal mess to prolong for so long unchecked and stop being mean so poor people seeking an opportunity to exist that, of itself is not a crime its a dignified act. Your self professed high moral standing cannot stand the test of time if in reality it does not match with equally moral actions, fix the broken system now and stop the scapegoating.

the system is not broken. it just needs to be enforced.

as for your compassion for all these poor people who "just" want to work in the usa to support their families, that is not the responsibility of the usa or it's citizens.

..it is the responsibility of their home countries whereever that might be.

the responsibility of the usa government is first and foremost to it's own citizens. with that said, the current usa government is sorely lacking in that goal.

There is no doubt that It is time for the US to get its immigration policies right and now, other than that we are just closing the stable door after horse has bolted again and again it is time to replace the system with something that would work maybe not perfect but better than what is in place now with the option to close all loop holes as they show up and that is not an impossible task as trying to deport millions of people amounting to almost a nation state without adverse effects on our states and national economy.

the us constitution included martial law as one of the tools available for the people to use when necessary.

expelling all the illegals would be a perfect scenario for it to be activated.

I welcome it.

Most Californians share your extremely low opinion of Hispancis. Why not. No State uses more Illegal Slave Labor than Apartheid California.

The question is whether Americans in the other States have the basic common sense to demand that the Bill be KILLED as written.

Yes those poor people have a right to exist but why is it at America's expense? We are all not rich and shouldnt have to support people from Mexico. I resent the fact they drain our economy.

It will cost an extra $3.5 billion per year.

But what the heck, squandering the
taxpayers' money is no big deal if you're a Republican.

Bush's war.....$3 trillion at least.
