Exactly. Bush used 9/11 to invade Iraq. He had it all planned all along. He knew damned well there were no WMDs. He was mad that Saddam tried to kill his father. He's an oil man, oil is his only god. He knew he was going to find a way to invade Iraq one way or another.

No, seriously. The Dems couldn't get universal care so they created a system that will implode all forms of health care to get everyone to want universal care. They can't do Obamacare, even some of the Dems now want it appealed. Medicare needs to be funded. We would all be better off paying a 10 percent VAT tax and going to universal care for all. Everyone would pay for it when they buy things, no one would get it for free, it would be fully funded. I don't see Medicare going on the way it is nor Obamacare working at all. The Repubs are going to go the other way, privatize Medicare, do a voucher system, go for buying insurance across state lines and tort reform. I'm fine with that or with universal care funded by a VAT tax. Obamacare and 60 trillion in debt in Medicare, it's a train wreck.

<quoted text>LOL. I hope you don't mind my giving the tea tards the business about SS and Medicare. I'm trying to get them to see they are fighting for socialism, they want and need those programs. Beck tells them oh the progressive programs are the only thing wrong with the country. The tea party wants those things, but they can't figure it out.
Be my guest. When you have people who mis-spell their placards, and are only interested in where the coffee and donuts are, I don't figure they will be much of a threat come election day. Those who actually remember the day, will not get out to vote because they do not serve coffee and donuts at the polls.

Some of them have figured out that Beck is a Mormon, but a guy on here, "Norton", says Beck is not really a Mormon and that Beck must be a member of a branch of the Mormon Church.

<quoted text>This is what is really good, we're all thinking about what is socialism instead of letting a guy on TV tell everyone what it is and simply telling everyone it is some evil thing they have never seen. What I honestly see is that Americans would like to go European socialist. JMO. I see them craving education, craving universal health care and changes in our culture. They don't see it. Our culture is like when Rome fell. The society got fat and lazy, over-confident, they stopped fighting so hard and stopped paying attention to what was going on around them. People from the World War II generation knew what it was to have no government assistance at all, they lived through the Great Depression, everyone was dirt poor during the Depression. They were on their own. They went through WWII which was a huge, expensive war. They built this country because they were used to fighting for everything. But, there's been four generations since them. Things have changed. Things got too easy, people didn't go to college, the population got much bigger, urban sprawl began. Many things have changed. My money is on the U.S. wants European socialism, free college educations, civil unions vs. marriage, ending urban sprawl. They want most of the progressive ideas, they just don't consciously have a clue yet.
You are right about most of what you wrote, but socialism had its roots in American society as far back as the mid 1800s, then again in the 1900s until 1917s when we entered WW1...But you are right things have changed and we need to be more progressive as a nation and not regressive...

I didn't know that, socialism goes all the way back to the 1800s and early 1900s. I didn't know that. I agree with you. The Beckheads want and need to move in that direction too, they just don't know anything besides Beck right now. That's why I was arguing with them about SS and Medicare. They will always fight for a social program they want money and benefits from and it gets them thinking about what socialism is and the fact that they actually want it. I think it is so engrained into Americans not to be like Europe, it's so engrained into us to hate communists, so the mention of socialism sets Americans off. But, if you break it down into the programs they want, then they start to see what it really is. JMO.

Interesting that you are so out of touch with the real world that you have no idea who the "real people" are.

But I will start with one simple rule: People who make more than $100,000 a year are not "real people."

Here is one example: Joe the Plumber, although misguided, was one of the "real people."

I guess another general rule would be: Anyone who only makes minimum wage (or who would like to make minimum wage) is one of the "real people."

I know one thing for sure..if they took a breath and saw what voting for the Republicans in particular their more conservative Tea Party they will not like all the programs (that benefit all people)they stand to lose...nor will they like the obstructionist tactics that they plan on implementing so that the government comes to a virtual stand still...

I've been called a 'peckerhead' a few times in my life but never a "Beckhead" I'm not on that train..Although I do give the guy credit for waking people up to the Founders and The Constitution, I'm not into his religious transition...I certainly would not put a person down for what they believe in..except muslims...
