Not only that, but a NON-WHITE Republican. And the Democrats thought they had a monopoly on the non-white vote (save Cuban Americans).

I think he will do just fine since I do not believe he will be asleep at the switch like Gov Blanco and Mayor Nagel were when Katrina hit. He is going to have a tough time with all of those embedded Democrats in the government down there. There are going to try to torpedo him every chance they get but I think he is smart enough to outflank them.

Yeah, he'll do fine, all the poor in Louisiana will be considered street urchins and treated as such just as they do in India. And what an influx of east indians we will have. The guy looked like a bobble head in the headline pictures. It was hilarious. The bio on this guy was interesting, went from hindu to catholicisim, then tried baptist and episcopalian. Sound like he switches religions to what ever suits the situation. We have been screwed again. The republicans are for the well off, not the struggling poor. who work hard for a living. This guy comes from a well to do family, he has no real background in dealing with the working class. Louisana has been dupped.

Sounds like sour grapes with every word you utter. The libs screwed up everything, so a much needed change was due.

how would you know? Ever lived here? What lib's are you talking about? If you don't live in this state, you have no idea what is going on. Jindal is not a needed change. He is too much of a whiner. Where the heck was he and all the other a@@holes during the turmoil of hurricane Katrina? Foster who was a democrap turned republican screwed this state up. And now we have a rich boy with grandiose ideas, wanting to screw the working class again. how lucky can we get.

Amazing how tolerant these dems can be. Would they rather Louisiana vote in the typical do-nothing-but-steal village idiot like Blanco?

So the state is not a mess ? Now let's see ? Which political party was in control of the governorship at the time when the landscape was changed ? I don't have to be a resident of the state to recognize that the libs screwed it up. As long as federal taxpayer money continues to be wasted, my observations and comments are just as valid as a resident. Sounds like you are a permanent member of the "give it to me class, I don't have to work for it, just give it to me."

the Republicans are making their comeback!

America is finally wising up!

the socialist democrats want to give AMNESTY to 28,000,000 ILLEGAL criminal immigrants & their families - they want a bigger voting block then their dwindling black & union support!!!

they have severely abandoned their black & union voters!!!

And this guy is not even white! Bush has minorities on his cabinet - but billy clinton didn't have one! he & shillary just use blacks to get their vote!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great day for the US!!!!!!!!!!

p.s.- the former gov. of la.( I forget her name)
just sat their with mayor nagan and did nothing as new orleans got hit by katrina!

she didn't call to get people outta harms way!
she asked for help days after the flooding!
she failed miserably!!!

thank God this wonderful guy is the new Governor!

hate to inform you, but I work for a living. Bummer huh? I guess that just threw your theory out the window. I still want to know what liberals your talking about. Do you think that we louisianans like supporting new orleans? heck no!!
Most of us would rather see our money spent on the rest of the state. Like jobs, more businesses coming back etc. We in North Louisiana are just about a ghost area. Too many plants and major businesses have left. All the money stays down in southern louisiana. Jindal won't make things any better. He's got too many prominent business men pulling his strings.

He has been there, done that and probably will know how to do more for the people of Louisana. He has experience of have done that and not done them as the Democrats have in the past. Bill Kristo said,"This should be a wake up call for the democrats along with the election in Mass of Niki Tsongas." She only won by about 5% with two democratic straws running in the race. Marty Meehan won by over 16% in his last election. I think the MOONBAT MANDATES are dwindling. This especially good in this state of Mass. I hope more are emigrating to New Hampshire to screw up their state. They will turn that into a welfare state in the future.

Bush and McCain are "socialist democrats" since they were the two supporting total amnesty?

Are you confused or just stupid?

and Reagan - the 1987 Amnesty Bill he pushed?

Socialist?

You are BOTH confused and stupid.

Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the union and without checking I think it would be safe to say that Federal Funds into your state exceed any taxes received from all the citizens on a annual basis. Libs such as your former governor, the mayor of N.O., Rep. Jefferson, to pin point a few that are always are going to Washington for a handout. You don't work for the bureauarcy do you ? If not my apology to another honest working person. I don't know anything about your new Governor, but it will take all business, large and small to create jobs and get the citizens off the welfare rolls.

Were Number 1, were number 1, were number 1.

Oh in corruption that is.

Think about it, can it really get any worse.

He may do a good job, he may not.

Those people you can throw anything you want at. I agree, louisiana is a poor state and the state officials are greedy. they cost us a fortune and in turn, give us nothing. They get jobs for their loved ones, that pay well and that's about it. I am not originally from here. I wish I hadn't come here. There are some pretty good people here, but they are the ones struggling to make ends meet. To get people off the welfare rolls is next to impossible. There are generations of people here that welfare is all they know. You have teenage girls getting pregnant on purpose just so they can work, collect food stamps, collect childsupport and any other program they can get money. And people scream when they are threatend with cuts in these social programs. Greed is the key word here. You can educate the samhill out of these people and they still want to ripoff people. It's a wild place here.

Missoui isn't anything to brag about as far as jobs etc. Pretty poor state also. I am not a dem. But what you don't understand is all politicians here are crooks. Even Jindal will have his hands in the cookiejar. Being that there are certain prominent business men here that got him elected. I'm sure the cookiejar will be robbed again.

It should not read that an Indian/American won the election, I am so tired of hearing African, Hispanic, Italian, Irish etc.../American, as if your heritage makes it amazing that you won a democratic election. We are all just people in America. Whether we rode a boat, raft, or swam, once we said the pledge of allegience we became Americans not /Americans.
