It is always said"give these illegal's a drivers license"

It is seldom (if any) said " With 6 months proof of insurance they can then apply for a drivers license"

If they are driving around with no insurance and get in a wreck....who loses? Of course the legal American taxpayer!
And the illegal just disapears into the woodwork!

Getting a driver license is suicide to any illegal trying to hide out. Even if offered, many will continue to drive uninsured and without consequence. They do not play by the same rule book as Americans have too. Today on an anti-illegal immigration site, it's now law in most States, they can commit 3 misdemeinors before they can be deported. What? Why are Americans allowing this, is this pathetic under-culture that needed?

NC will be sorry.

"The DUI arrest rate for Latinos in Raleigh, N.C., is 45 percent, while they account for only 8 percent of the population, said Eric Siervo, a public-policy manager at the National Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention in Washington."

http://www.recordnet.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...

Expect illegal aliens from neighboring states to come into NC and get licenses. The fraud will be rampant.

Deferred action illegal aliens will be on a fast track to deportation when they get a felony DUI or get caught transporting drugs or persons or are carrying drugs.

The AG is suppose to be the top cop in the state. There is something else going on here that the government is not telling us?

Marco Rubio was on Fox News yesterday talking about his leadership input on reformation of illegal immigration. He does not give amnesty, nor driver's licenses before vetting each individual, background checks . He's not for allowing amnesty at all until they pay back tax, and a litany of other proposals. If implemented, over half if not more than that will even qualify. The States giving DL's will be repealed and reversed, so they're just wasting there time doing this.

So the top cop in the state is obeying the law. It would only be news if he did not obey the law.

If you believe that each illegal alien that applies for legal residency will be fully vetted I have a bridge in Brooklyn that you may be interested in.
How do you perform a background check on people that have no identity? I know the answer to who is going to pay the thousands of dollars required to perform a background check on a person who has spent thier entire life using stolen and/or false I.D. You are right that most will not qualify but do you expect that those who do not qualify will actually leave the country or be deported? In theory allowing the “good” illegal aliens to stay and getting rid of the “bad” ones sounds like a good idea. The problem is how do we tell the difference and who decides? We know they all have no moral problem with lying or breaking the law. If they did they wouldn’t be here. Since we know every illegal alien has committed numerous crimes if they have been living and working here for any amount of time how do we decide what crimes to forgive and what crimes not to forgive? If an illegal alien is convicted of I.D. theft would that disqualify them from gaining legal status? We know that most illegals have at some time used stolen or false I.D. so will we disqualify only those who were convicted? The same is true for tax evasion and numerous other crimes.

This is the law:

"In 1996, Congress inserted several interlocking provisions into the law that require deportation when Executive Branch officials become aware of illegal aliens.

Congress enacted these provisions explicitly to force the executive branch to place into removal proceedings virtually every illegal alien encountered by federal immigration agents. The exceptions allowed by the 1996 act are very narrow, to be applied only in extraordinary circumstances (such as aliens seeking political asylum)."

"* 8 U.S.C.§ 1225(a)(1) provides that “an alien present in the United States who has not been admitted ... shall be deemed for purposes of this chapter an applicant for admission.”

* This triggers 8 U.S.C.§ 1225(b)(2)(A), which mandates that if the immigration officer determines that the alien is unlawfully present, the alien must be placed in deportation proceedings:“In the case of an alien who is an applicant for admission, if the examining immigration officer determines that an alien seeking admission is not clearly and beyond a doubt entitled to be admitted, the alien shall be detained for a proceeding under section 1229a of this title.”

* The proceedings described in 8 U.S.C.§ 1229a are the deportation (or “removal”) proceedings of the US immigration courts."

I hope they do drive. There will be accidents and DUI felonies which will fast track them to deportation. Alcoholism runs rampant in the Hispanic/Latino community.

Why are so many of "your" Black people getting arrested for driving on a suspended license due to non-payment on their child support?

Really, and when you pull people's chains like you enjoy doing, what difference are you making? What is sad is that you don't let people in on what you really think about the various issues being discussed here.

There's a difference between a US citizen who non supports and illegal aliens who are not even suppose to be physically in the country.

I was divorced and had 2 sons who i had full custody at ages of 6 & 8. My oldest graduated NYU in 07 and is a film editor in NY, my young is in the Air Force, works in the hospital, finished a tour in Kandahar Afghanistan in July.

If anyone skips out on child support it's illegal aliens who have 10 children because the church tells them not to use birth control. BTW, what is the Hispanic rate of VD?

I'am looking forward to the train wreck coming when Obama leaves office. These people who do get licenses will still be driving on them after they expire.

Deferred action, work permits and licenses expired. Illegal aliens will still be moving around as if they were still in full force and valid because they don't believe in the law anyway.

Drivers licenses are not a right specially made for a US Citizen. They can be handed out like candy to anyone.... especially illegal aliens.

Illegal aliens game the system the same way an American welfare diva games the system. The mother simply denies the whereabouts of the father and they enjoy welfare while daddy lives off the dole.

This is no secret, Americans have made a living off this ploy. Blacks have been stereotyped to be the queen divas of this practice and the government cracked down on it under Clinton. Regardless of who sucks more welfare is irrelevant.... the point you're trying to make is that it's OK for Americans to collect welfare but not illegal aliens. Ironically an illegal alien mother cannot collect welfare. Only their American born child can so your argument that they don't belong here is null & voided as the child is in fact a US Citizen.

Please don't stert spamming me with the original intent of the framers of the 14th amendment right wing bullcrap as you're not going to convince me or the social worker in any welfare office across the USA.

And if they continue driving on an expired DL, they'll pay the penalty for doing so. But I believe that some path to legalization would have commenced by then.
