Border Patrol under scrutiny for deadly force, including death of teen, along Mexico border

Full story: The Washington Post

A pair of Mexican drug smugglers in camouflage pants, bundles of marijuana strapped to their backs, scaled a 25 foot-high fence in the middle of the night, slipped quietly into the United States and dashed into the darkness.

Teen gets 40 years for killing Border Patrol agent

SAN DIEGO (AP)- A 17-year-old Mexican was sentenced to 40 years in prison
Thursday for murdering a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was lured from his vehicle during an attempted robbery and shot repeatedly in the head.
Defendant Christian Daniel Castro Alvarez, described as a one-time smuggler
of illegal immigrants, sat with his head down throughout the hearing, as the wife and sisters of 30-year-old Robert Rosas emotionally described how his execution shattered their lives.

Deadly force has been used for thousands of years to repel invaders intent on stealing and killing. Why is it a problem now?

Thousands of years ago they used to crucify people, disembowel them, behead them, burn them at the stake, sexually mutilate them, etc. In the modern world most people disavow this type of "justice".

Nobody would argue against incarcerating people who steal or kill, but as you well know the rates of these crimes among the undocumented is lower than it is for citizens.

It is true that in the good old days they did kill people for simply looking different, but are you seriously advocating the death penalty for people who look different on the slim chance that they may have committed the civil offense of unlawful presence?

I have got to say, I am more disturbed about living in the same country with somebody who advocates violence in such a flippant manner as I am about a local bus boy who may not have a particular piece of paper in his pocket.

I said "Deadly force has been used for thousands of years to repel invaders intent on stealing and killing." Try reading my post again.
You seem to read things that have not been written. Do you also hear voices that others can't hear and see things others can't see? I am disturbed about living in an area where people who hear, see and read things that are not there are not supervised.

I didn't realize you were talking about an actual military invasion from another nation's standing army. It appeared that you were talking about the jihad on landscapers. You should try to write more clearly.

You may have not realized this but one does not have to rule a country in order to have a military force. Terrorist groups all over the world have a military force yet no actually nation or country. The drug cartels in Mexico are not a standing army yet they regularly kick the asses of the Mexican police and military. I did not say one word about landscapers or "standing armies". You should try to think more clearly.

Funny. When you were advocating killing people you never mentioned terrorists or drug cartels.

The article discussed using deadly force against people who assault the border patrol. My comment was that "Deadly force has been used for thousands of years to repel invaders intent on stealing and killing." If people want to come here to landscape then they come honestly, friendly and openly. They ask permission and accept the fact if they are denied. If they throw rocks and shoot they should expect to be repelled with lethal force.
I say the border Patrol has the right and duty to use lethal force to protect themselves and this country against invaders and you claim I want to line up all illegal aliens and shoot them.
Keep spreading the fear and lies.

Yes I remember in Georgia where all of those prison inmates RUSHED to take the jobs. Well they did not exactly rush. It was more like they were dragged there in chains.

It turns out the farmers were not too happy with the prison labor though. It seems that people who have chosen a life of crime do not have the same work ethic as people who walk across hundreds of miles of desert to feed their children.

maybe if they actually would have thought about now to feed their children before having them they might not half to walk, but then again, not thinking about the consequences of ones actions seems to be pretty common amoung illegal immigrants.

So explain why the agriculture industry which is heavily subsidized by our tax dollars is entitled to cut rate labor provided by a class of people who have their civil rights limited due to there legal status. Is it because of their long and glorious history of exploiting labor is their cultural right? Explain why unlike other industries the agriculture industry is exempt from laws and regulations that apply to almost every other industry in this country including minimum pay, overtime and safety.

I have no idea what any of that means or what your point may be. Another poster said farm work is a highly desirable and much sought after line of work. I suggested that it may not be the greatest of professions. You seem to agree, but I am not sure why you are demanding answers from me.
