After Sandy Hook, after twenty children were shot and killed at a place where they should have been safe from all harm, there was some optimism among supporters of gun control: perhaps now, finally, both Democrats and Republicans could see the light - and the suffering - and revive the assault-weapons ban.

If you would simply stand up as a co-conspirator to any gun crime committed with your firerm; and get all owners to do the same, our murder and mass murder rate would plummet from lack of guns.
What do you say, are you responsible?
Certainly If you will stand as co-conspirator to any weapon crime committed on someone forced to be defenceless due to gun control..

I would certainly agree with you if you, and every gum owner were responsible.
The guns killing children in our city centers are all bought elsewhere and smuggled in.

Of course I'm responsible. No criminal will ever get their hands on my firearms. I follow the law 100%. As for other people you can't have control over the dummies. Would be nice but it's just not that way and never will be. That includes not only firearms but any other aspect of life.

<quoted text>I cannot agree with you on that. As an American qualified for firearm ownership I think you should be able to purchase anything you can legally. I'm a firm believer in the NRA loyal and will be for life. That's why I'm a life member and I always contribute when I can.
A majority of NRA members currently disagree with the leadership on background checks.

I don't want to argue with you but that is so untrue. NRA members object to bans not background checks. They in full agreement with that. The last thing the NRA wants are firearms to be in the hands of deranged people and as a member I feel the same.

Background checks that work are fine, registration isn't. Telling me I can't loan my son my MP-15 to hunt coyotes that are taking sheep or even sell it to him. Nope.

I'm with you. I inherited half of my firearms from my deceased father and would never give them up. I'm in total agreement with background checks anything else I see it as an infringement on our rights and will fight against it with my will.

The bad guys cannot keep the vote secret, so if they vote for anything worse them registration at the time of purchase, get their names, turn them over to the NRA, and vote them out of office.

First of all, how does a NRA hater know what the "Majority" of NRA members feel about anything? Backround checks are mandated for all gun sales at FFL dealers. The only place where it does not apply is person to person sales. I have no problem with backround checks as I had no problem with Tricky Doug Wilder's one handgun a month law, I had a CCW and could purchase as many as I wanted but I stuck to the one gun per month rule.

The big problem with the anti groups is that most of them do not know what the F they are talking about. They think that any gun that is flat black is an assault weapon. Much like Al Gore and his famous statement that he went hunting on a number of occasions with his double gauge shotgun to the stupid posed picture of obama shooting a shotgun looking like a frightened little 12 year old with the completely upright position and feet close together pose of somebody who does not know the hell about guns and how to shoot them.

My Weapons of choice are single action revolvers, lever action rifles and SxS coach guns as I am a cowboy action shooter, this does not mean that another gun owner would be just as happy with a Government Model 45 and a thompson to do some "Zoot Suit Shooting".

Good for you. However that does not give you the right to violate the rights of others to own guns, buy, and sell guns, and as long as they are not breaking any other laws it is none of your business, nor is it the Governments business. We are still free for a little while anyway to live our lives without controls.

Thank you. There are more of us then there are of them, and as long as that holds true we can protect the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Speaking of deranged people, NRA's La Pierre has spoken time and time again against background checks. If background checks included psychological profiles, I don't think La Pierre would pass.

First of all, Voice of a Fruitcake, NRA members were recently polled, and a majority favor background checks. You can check that when you regain consciousness.

Secondly, my brave little warrior, guns sold at gun shows are almost never subjected to background checks.
Also, I'm sorry the president isn't "macho" enough for your shootin' tastes. Next election, enter a write-in vote for Billy the Kid.

There is nothing in that pesky Constitution that says I have to answer to a radical Government, and I won't. They can pass all the laws they want. There are lawyers lined up to take their foolish laws to the Supreme Court, the Roberts Court that has upheld the 2nd amendment twice already.

No one is responsible! The guns are legally bought! Trying demonize them with the appellation "Illegal" is false. We Americans believe in the right to own guns.
My president was elected by dead people!

-Most of the sales at gun shows are by dealers, and they are all ready required to make the call, no matter Where they are selling it.
-And why shouldn't the NRA, until they actually do the job and well, why spread this beyond Dealers who are already equipped to do this.
The job of keeping criminals is already done fairly well, since the majority of guns used in crimes are illegally acquired, and a private sale gun isn't illegal.
- If you want to sell a gun with a background check go to a dealer they are already authorized to do one for you. I don't think they are yet ,required; could be wrong Obama has been doing a LOT of writing, and will charge you for it if they choose to do it..
