Pastors Urged to Defy IRS to Defeat Evil, Hitlerian Obama

There are 148 comments on the www.religiondispatches.org story from Oct 2, 2012, titled Pastors Urged to Defy IRS to Defeat Evil, Hitlerian Obama. In it, www.religiondispatches.org reports that:

Conservative evangelical leaders hope that 1,500 pastors will take part in “Pulpit Freedom Sunday” on October 7 and tell their congregants that they must vote against President Obama and other “unbiblical” candidates. Today, publisher Steven Strang, anti-gay activist Rev. Jim Garlow, and too-radical-for-John-McCain pastor John Hagee participated in a conference call designed to either shame or inspire more pastors to take part.

Taxes have already been paid on the money churches receive and they use that money for charitable outreach helping millions around the world. Charity from people through churches to benefit society should not be taxed.
Agree and black dem churches openly support dems . I myself mock these libs and we mock them even more at local church and give to any conservative we feel like it ,exactly like pro-Obama black churches do.

Leftist thinking on this is out to lunch without wrappers.
The distortion of the Constitution and all founding thought lies in their stagnant, stubborn refusal to read the Constitution, which only says that the State shall not establish a religion. Religious people and churches can address anything they want. All Government and their police arms should get the hell out of trying to set church doctrine.
No
.
This was settled in the 1948 United States Supreme Court decision 'Separation means separation; not something less'; still the law of the land today:

"We find that the basic Constitutional principle of absolute separation was violated when the State of Illinois, speaking through its Supreme Court, sustained the school authorities of Champaign in sponsoring and effectively furthering religious beliefs by its educational arrangement. Separation means separation, not something less. Jefferson's metaphor in describing the relation between church and state speaks of a "wall of separation," not of a fine line easily overstepped. The public school is at once the symbol of our democracy and the most pervasive means for promoting our common destiny. In no activity of the state is it more vital to keep out divisive forces than in its schools, to avoid confusing, not to say fusing, what the Constitution sought to keep strictly apart. "The great American principle of eternal separation"--Elihu Root's phrase bears repetition--is one of the vital reliances of our Constitutional system for assuring unities among our people stronger than our diversities. It is the Court's duty to enforce this principle in its full integrity. We renew our conviction that "we have staked the very existence of our country on the faith that complete separation between the state and religion is best for the state and best for religion." (Justice Felix Frankfurter, U. S. Supreme Court, in McCollum v. Board of Education, 1948)

<quoted text>By that measure, taxes have already been paid on the money that you give to your local WalMart, gas station or liquor store, but that doesn't mean that you and they aren't going to be paying taxes on it again and depending on what you get for that money, paying taxes on it into the future. I agree with you, money spent on charitable purposes shouldn't be taxed, money spent on political purposes, however, is another matter entirely.
Cry us a river.
My motto has always been "in your liberal face" and if you do not like it, TO BAD.

"Pulpit Freedom Sunday participants agree to preach political sermons, send them to the IRS, and dare the agency to sue them. The Alliance Defending Freedom (formerly known as the Alliance Defense Fund) has offered legal help to churches that might get into trouble, even though organizers say no church has ever lost its tax-exempt status over political preaching."

Thank God I see so many right-thinking people on here standing up for freedom in America against the left-wing dictators (pluralized because are so many petty tyrants out there on the left who want to destroy the American idea). I have it on good authority that one of the most outspoken posters on this website has been shut out from the whole forum. That poster was speaking out against left-wing thought police activity and are blocked completely from entering this site. The left-wing cannot stand dissenters and will do everything in their power to shut them up. I'm encouraged to see that they will have to block so many people here that they won't have but a few left to post. Invite your right-wing friends to join you here. Let's force them to shut this site down!

I agree there is no federal right to vote and many who vote are a greater danger to themselves than anything else .

A written test would eliminate majority of Obama voters and they would cry racism.

This black man speaks the truth.

As the ruling predominantly dealt with public schools and any specific religious training in those schools, the ruling doesn't apply to people expressing their opinions concerning civic matters in churches. Further, taking "religion" to its full meaning, it would seem Frankfurter's opinion would apply to the profound indoctrinations happening in our public schools based on such religious beliefs as homosexuality being normal and other psychology (the new religion, a bunch of unsubstantiated opinion), brainwashing and channeling performed to tell children what is right and wrong. Secular religion is much more damaging to society and culture, than deity based dogma has ever been.

Being secular is not a religion, period. That is like saying your lack of belief in Santa Claus is a religion.
